North's eyes darkened and narrowed dangerously at Serenity.

Just then, Lucas' voice rang in the room. "Mr. Gerhold, Serenity is my friend. If you harm her, I'll make your family's life in Lanford difficult," he warned.

North turned to Lucas. "Mr. Gomez, you're very nice to your friend, but is it worth turning against the Gerhold family for a friend?"

"I owe my life to her. What do you think?" Lucas simply said.

After North and Yelena left, Serenity told Lucas, "You didn't have to do this. Why turn the Gerhold family against…"

"Serenity," Lucas interrupted her, "I know you've never had feelings for me. I won't ask for anything more, but it's up to me to decide what I want to do."

Unable to say anything, Serenity got up and said goodbye.
