Chapter 3

As darkness fell, the whole mansion was quiet. Aunt Vivian’s footsteps could be heard from afar as she made her way down the stairs.

Lucas has not been back since retrieving him from the airport. The elder housekeeper opened the door and put his dinner in front of him. \"Don\'t act like you’re already half-dead. Eat quickly. I want to finish cleaning up.”

When Oliver looked at the bowl in front of him, he saw that a piece had broken off and been reattached to the edge of the bowl. A black substance was stuck along the crevice it made, and Oliver wrinkled his nose. From the smell, the food had gone bad.

Oliver put his chopsticks down, pushed them away and told her, \"I’m not hungry.\"

\"You know I’ll bring this back for your next meal. Don\'t be stubborn,\" Aunt Vivian said. Cursing, she closed the door and walked away.

Oliver Shi ignored her, hungry and unable to sit up. He lay on the floor, leaning sideways. A chain went around his neck. A big chandelier hung from the ceiling.

The gorgeous chandelier gave off colorful light. In a trance, he could see Lucas Huo’s profile in a silhouette.

Ah, when did he fall in love with the enemy?

It was three years ago. Someone had blocked him in the alley, and Lucas Huo had come down like an angel from heaven.

He remembered the time Lucas Huo held his hand at the birthday party and announced that he loved Oliver in public. He remembered Lucas reaching out to touch his hair and calling him “my love.”

Now, he counted the days and dreaded what was in store for him. Now he knew that Lucas was his enemy. He had forgotten what it felt like to be in love with him.

Once, he had abandoned everything for his lover. He had folded his wings and let him take the center stage. He had been so in love that he had allowed himself to disappear for the sake of his lover.

Oliver Shi blinked, as if to erase the image in his mind. However, no matter how many times he blinked, Lucas’s face remained in his sight. In fact, it even smiled at him.

He exclaimed, \"I must be going crazy!\" Oliver closed his eyes and wished he could forget about Lucas Huo.

\"It seems you don\'t want to see me now,\" said a soft voice. The next moment, somebody unlocked the chains that bound his feet. Oliver’s eyes flew open. Lucas was holding him up.

Lucas sat oliver on the bed, then sat beside him. He looked around. Judging from the dim lights and silence outside, nobody seemed aware that Lucas was in the mansion. He must have sneaked in, past his guards, or he must have instructed the guards not to wake anyone else.

Gently, Lucas touched his face and said to him, \"What should we do, before Jonathan arrives? You and I, we don’t have to move on. We can still keep seeing each other.\"

  Jonathan Qiao.

Even if he and Lucas had spent three years together, and he had accompanied his “lover” day and night, still Lucas had chosen Jonathan Qiao over him.

Or rather, it wasn’t really a choice between him and Jonathan. Long before he and Lucas had gotten together, the choice had been made.

\"What are you thinking of, do you have something else on your mind?\" Huo raised his chin.

\"I’m thinking, when are you letting my brother go?\"

\"It\'s up to you.\" Lucas Huo stood by the bed and began to take off his belt. \"You know I’ll take him to the hospital if you just do what I ask you.\"
