Chapter-04

David was sitting on the sofa and watching Gloria leave his house.

He thought Gloria will put a fuss or try something to remain Mrs. Collin.

But her leaving like this somehow surprised him.

He was hurt somehow, too.

He thought, though these three years they were not like some romantic couple at least they grew some bond.

But maybe he was wrong.

This marriage was a business deal for him at first.

He agreed to marry her because his dad wanted to take help from the elder Mr. White.

Lia and David used to be childhood sweethearts, but when David’s company fall and he needed help Lia didn’t come forward to help him.

Instead, she showed him her back, saying her mom’s business was not in good condition and she was not in the position to help him.

Though David knew white was far superior to them he believed her word and tried to search for investors.

But his every attempt came out futile.

His company was at a loss because one of their projects go haywire and that’s why no one was ready to trust them again.

At that time, his father came out with this proposal.

Everyone in this town knew how Mr white’s daughter was sick and he wanted to marry his granddaughter to some well-off.

And this news was not hidden too that his huge property will go to her daughters and even though Gloria was the owner of half of his property, it was way more than any other rich man in the town.

Though David had seen Gloria occasionally, he was never interested in her as he was in a relationship with Lia.

But in this dire situation, this looked like a great option for him, too.

As they expected, when David proposed to Gloria White group bought fifty percent share of the company and many investors started to invest in Collin group to curry favors.

In three years, David took this company to a great height which was not possible in any other way.

During these three years Collin was so busy with his work that he never tried to care about his married life but Gloria’s constant effort didn’t go unnoticed by him.

And somehow, he was getting close to her and happy with her.

Though they were not living like lovers he was convinced he can live his life peacefully like this.

But everything changed three months back.

Three months back Lia return from London and he was not back alone.

She had some pictures of Gloria with another man.

David knew this man as he had noticed him at some parties.

He was Jonathan Writes.

Jonathan and Gloria were batch mates, and they had a good relationship.

David has seen him even in some of Gloria’s family gatherings.

He never cared about him because he thought they were only friends.

But these pictures were saying something else.

He tried to find out about them and while investigating he got to know they were not some normal friends.

Gloria and Jonathan used to be in a romantic relationship.

Their love affair was very well known in college because Jonathan once proposed to Gloria in front of the entire college.

Then he also felt there was something fishy otherwise if they didn’t have any relationship till now why he was always in her family program?

He kept his eyes on Gloria and as he thought they were in constant connection and one of his men even saw them go to a hotel several times.

He was so angry that he wanted to confront her.

But Lia stopped him, saying if she was doing something shady she would never admit and she can put his company at a problem as she was the biggest shareholder.

But he didn’t want to stay with a person who was cheating on him.

With Lia’s help, he planned this thing and even prepared for divorce papers.

“Don’t feel sad. She got what she deserved.” Lia sat beside him and try to take his arm but David move away.

Lia has dressed up already, and she was looking innocent with her light makeup look.

But nobody knew what was hiding inside this facade.

 

He didn’t want to trick her, but the intimate photos of her and Jonathan Lia showed him made David so angry that he wanted to take revenge.

Nothing was happening between him and Lia.

He didn’t even touch her.

He just wanted to make her feel how he felt when he saw her and Jonathan, and that’s why he was acting inside the room.

But that doesn’t mean he would let Lia get close to him.

He has long ago moved over from Lia.

Though he has never held any grudge against her he knew Lia was not someone he wanted as her life partner.

Yes, Lia was beautiful, and he once liked her, too.

But when she left him seeing him in low, he understood she was not someone who can stay with him for a lifetime.

Actually, he thought Gloria would be the one who would never leave him.

But how wrong he was.

“David, trust me. She was not someone you can trust. If she was so innocent, why do you think she signed those documents without any fuss? She even gave you her share. She surely wanted to finish this without any drama.” Lia said, and that make him look at the papers lying on the table.

If she was so innocent, why did she transfer those shares in his name which were worth billions?

David knew Gloria was rich.

Without these shares, not only does she own shares of White’s but she has some property she gained from her father.

But no one will do charity because she has too much money.

After all, she has a future life ahead and she would like to live with Jonathan.

 “Lia, I have some work to do. Thanks for your help,” David said and get up, leaving Lia alone, which make her clench her fist.

Lia was angry at how David was throwing her away when he was done with his work.

Lia knew it would be hard for her to win him back.

But she was not in a hurry.

She can try again and again until David accept her.

Now when this bitch Gloria was out of her way, she can wait for a few more days.

“Ok, I should leave,” Lia said and get up.

It’s better to leave him alone.

She will get a lot more chances in the future.

 

When David returned to his room, he ordered Noah to keep his eyes on Gloria.

He was convincing himself, thinking he was just keeping his eyes on her so that she can’t pull any tricks.

But two hours later he got the news that she was leaving the country.
