I passed Maggie a smile while cutting into my meat. It felt great being at a restaurant for a change instead of being stuck at the house.

While I loved my dad and stepmother, I was tired of living under the same roof as them.

I longed to feel like a grownup and do whatever I wanted without them breathing down my neck. Therefore, I applied for various places to work this week. Now all I needed to do was play the waiting game.

The wait was killing me, though. I was impatient and wanted to move out as soon as possible. It would be heaven if Maggie and I didn't have to sneak around and pretend not to be lovers anymore.

We were a couple, but we had decided not to tell our parents about our relationship. Not yet.
