Niall Alcott

CUP thudding hard against the table, I wiped my mouth and belched, loud and horrifying.

My cheeks were swollen, red like the hues of tomatoes. More gas threatened to escape from my stomach and I plopped deeper into the seat, cursing in a low tone.

"I need something better, Ana." I cried out.

When I opened my eyes, I saw that she wasn't by my side anymore. I trailed her voice to the door where she was bidding a goodbye to her client, a woman with grey hair and slow walks.

  • My Heat and the Three Alphas   CH.121: Half of a Lot

Niall AlcottNEVER did I imagine that carrying the Kings of Vael's heir meant imprisonment. Otherwise, I wouldn't be losing my shit right now.48 hours. The whole of that time was spent inside my room, treated like some newly bought glassware. They took it literally when they called me a rare gem, hiding me as though I would shatter at any moment if I so much as decided to stroll outside.Because of that decision, I had been stuck with Mr. Meany Face. I looked up from the book I was reading. I had been on the same page for the past hour, grazing past words that did not even make sense to me.I needed my life back. I hadn't even been allowed to see anyone else, not even Ana or Natalie. What a horror.Mr. Meany Face had his head rested against the recliner, eyes closed, breathing calm, hands draped over the arms. He was far too relaxed. My time to escape.I sprang up and rushed towards the door.I was so close.Just twist the fucking handle and get out.He appeared right there and then,

  • My Heat and the Three Alphas   CH.120: Freedom and Healing

Niall AlcottTALK about the best shock of your life.I had mine seven hours ago, and I still hadn't recovered.A lot of things happened back at the opening of the Foundation, and I hadn't even had the time to process them.It was true that I was pregnant. Like, I actually was carrying a baby inside me kind of pregnant.I knew it was a hell of a surprise, but really, I had something growing inside me. Like a baby growing. A pup. A fucking something growing inside of me.Inside my stomach. My stomach!I crashed out.Just like I had an hour ago, and a few minutes ago, every ticking second. This was the third time the doctor had come to check on me.“Other than the concussion, you are fine,” he told me.After he left, I was alone in the room. The shock had been so much for me that the doctor had advised Xander and Lucious to stay away. They would heighten the shock, he warned.I watched Vael spread out in the distance, the bell ringing continuously. It was to let the people know of an hei

  • My Heat and the Three Alphas   CH.119: Lost Wolf

Niall Alcott“WHAT the fuck?” I lost my senses right there. “Alpha Steele?”Every bit of chaos around me vanished into thin air. There was no believing my eyes in this state.“You—you died,” I whispered. My vision blurred as tears glazed my eyes.“I survived, little moth,” he said, and a smile escaped me.It was truly him. I hadn't realised how much it meant to hear that nickname. He had given it to me on the night we escaped Emrys's captivity, a measure of my resistance against my fear.I had always been afraid of fire, yet I didn't let it stop me that night.I looked around before settling back on him, his shoulder grazed by the bullet, blood seeping out.How was he here? I had so many questions, and my brain was running on a thousand thoughts at once.“I'll get you help. I'm—”The sound of three gunshots rang through the air. The gathering had turned into full-fledged chaos, people clamouring for safety, the witches of Voss College trying to protect what they could. My sight caught

  • My Heat and the Three Alphas   CH.118: Time to Shine

Niall AlcottTHE TWELFTH: THE TRANSITIONFrom a little boy with fragile hands whose back became a map of wounds and bruises, I became a monster at the peak of this madness.Madness, apparently, attracts and bonds with others who had tasted what it meant. This was Lucious.I will not say he saved me, because that word implies I was waiting to be saved, and I was not. I had stopped waiting for anything.Miracles be damned.I had waited for so long to die, so when it came, I accepted it. I lay on the battlefield, a fallen soldier, blinded by the dust, deafened by the noise. He stood in the flicker of the light and he did something quieter than saving. He looked at me like I was a person, and at that particular moment in my life, that was the most violent thing anyone had ever done to me.To make me feel like I existed. He offered me a choice. The first I had ever been given. I had tasted death like him but I could be remade into a new identity.I simply chose.THE THIRTEENTH: THE WALLTh

  • My Heat and the Three Alphas   CH.117: Babysitting the Sinister Alpha King

Niall AlcottI absolutely did not whistle. Not in a hundred lifetimes would I do that.I hurried out of the library, pulling my sleeves over my face like a veil, and collided with Cyrus's side.“Oh, I found you, Spitfire.”Hell no. I found him.I did not waste another second before I walked the both of us out of there, right after apologising to the librarian for disturbing the peace of the library.I did not say a word as my gait intensified until we got outside the IronHeart walls. In the distance, Mr. Meany Face caught the fury in my eyes and immediately stepped back, looking away and busying himself with fixing the palanquin door as though it had a fault to begin with.“What's your problem?”“Oh, you look well. Have you eaten today?” Cyrus said, deflecting when he saw my seriousness. He cupped my face and pressed a kiss to my pouted lips.I pushed him back, my pupils still dilated, but I couldn't even bring myself to be mad, not when I inhaled the air around him. Not my fault, tho

  • My Heat and the Three Alphas   CH.116: For Good

Niall AlcottA few minutes ago, I had finalised the contract. Outside, I inhaled the fresh air. It was still a wonder to me how Vael now felt like home. I missed the brothers. I wished they were here right now.Being alone with Cyrus felt incomplete. So many things about me had changed. I used to consider having just one mate, but here I was, addicted to the three of them. Obsessed and comfortable with the white noise of their Kingdom. A kingdom of which I might one day be Queen.Months ago, I hadn't imagined this was what growth felt like, or that I would come to love this life.Approaching footsteps scattered my spiralling thoughts.“Alaric,” I acknowledged as he stopped before me.“Niall. It's nice to see you here.”I gawked at his uniform. The students wore lavender, glowing in the radiance of the sunshine.“It suits you so much. Purple looks good on you.”“And it's been my favourite colour since I was a kid.” He chuckled. His smile lessened as he brushed a hand past his nose, shi
