Chapter 11

Phina’s POV

Freshman

“Who’s the pretty girl behind ya?”

The voice came from somewhere to my left.

I turned.

A tall guy in a black hockey jersey was leaning against the boards, his hockey stick balanced between his hands. His gaze moved over me with undisguised curiosity before settling on Leander.

I looked behind me.

Nobody.

I looked back at him.

“Are you talking to me?”

He grinned. “Unless there's another pretty girl hiding behind you.”

Oh.

I hated this place already.

  • My Hockey Captain Is A Werewolf   Meeting Leander’s Family

Chapter Twenty-FourPhina’s POVMeeting Leander’s FamilyThe farther we walked into the university grounds, the more I began to understand that Veyra was not just a school. It was a kingdom. The buildings became grander, the pathways wider, and the number of guards increased with every step. People dressed in expensive fabrics moved in groups, some accompanied by attendants, others surrounded by men who looked more like personal security than ordinary guests. And everyone seemed to know Leander. They bowed their heads as he passed. Some greeted him with quiet respect, while others simply stepped aside. He barely acknowledged any of them. His hand remained at my lower back, guiding me through the crowd. He hadn't said much since we left the dormitory, and I was beginning to wonder whether the man who had kissed me in the infirmary had been replaced by the cold, infuriating Alpha I first met."Where are we going?" I finally asked."The royal hall."I glanced at him. "There's a royal hal

  • My Hockey Captain Is A Werewolf   The Gathering

Chapter Twenty ThreePhina's POVThe Gathering “Phina! Wake up!”I groaned and pulled the blanket over my head.“Five more minutes.”“No. Absolutely not. Get up!”“Amara, I'm begging you.”“And I'm begging you to open your eyes!”A pillow landed on my face.“What is wrong with you?” I sat up.Amara stood beside my bed, already dressed, her dark curls gathered into a high puff. She looked far too excited for someone who had just committed an assault with a pillow.“It's happening!”I blinked.“What is?”“The gathering!”Oh.I fell back against my pillow.“Right. The gathering.”“Phina!”“What? It's still morning.”“Exactly! And people have started arriving!”That caught my attention. I pushed the blanket aside.“Already?”“Of course! You should see the courtyard. It's beautiful.”I rubbed my eyes.“What's so beautiful about a bunch of wolves arriving at the same place?”Amara gasped.“First of all, they're not just a bunch of wolves. They're representatives of some of the oldest and m

  • My Hockey Captain Is A Werewolf   He Marked You

Chapter 22 Phina’s POVHe Marked YouBy the time I returned to the dormitory, my head was pounding.I had spent the better part of the afternoon being told things about myself that I didn't understand, surrounded by people who seemed to know more about my life than I did.And now, apparently, I had become some sort of political problem.I pushed the door open.Amara was sitting cross-legged on her bed, scrolling through her phone. She looked up when I entered, and her expression changed almost immediately.“Oh my God.”She stood.“He marked you?”My stomach dropped.I instinctively touched my neck.“Who?”She gave me a look.“Don't do that.”“Do what?”“Pretend you don't know who I'm talking about.”I walked past her and dropped my bag beside my bed.“Nothing happened.”“Phina.”“Amara.”“That's a mate mark.”I turned around.“It's not.”She blinked.“It's not?”“No.”“Then what is it?”I swallowed, my eyes everywhere but her face. Amara's expression changed.“Oh, you have got to be

  • My Hockey Captain Is A Werewolf   Protect Her Tomorrow

Chapter 20Phina's POVProtect Her TomorrowHe pressed his forehead lightly against mine.“That's the bond.”I should have pushed him away. Instead, I leaned toward him. The movement surprised both of us.His hand loosened at my neck, giving me space, but I caught the front of his shirt before he could step back.“Don't,” I whispered. He went still.“Don't what?”“Don't move away yet.”Something vulnerable crossed his face. Then he wrapped his arms around me, carefully enough that I could pull free whenever I wanted. For a few seconds, I let myself rest against him.The warmth. The steady heartbeat. The impossible feeling that I had somehow found my way to a place I had never known I was missing.I hated it. I wanted it to stop. And, God help me, I wanted it to last. When I lifted my face, his gaze dropped to my lips.He hesitated.I was the one who closed the distance. The kiss was brief at first, uncertain and interrupted by the shock of what we had just done. Then I caught his shir

  • My Hockey Captain Is A Werewolf   Claimed By The Alpha

Chapter NineteenPhina’s POV Claimed by the Alpha “Shift?”“Phina.”“Explain. Everything, Leander.”“The man you know as the principal is my father.” He tousled his hair, his eyes deliberately off my face. I blinked. Then I blinked again.“Your what?”“My father.”I stared at him, waiting for the punchline. It didn't come.“You mean the same man who threatened my scholarship? The one who blackmailed me into becoming your personal reputation manager? The one who looked at me as if I were a particularly irritating stain on his expensive floor?”Leander's mouth twitched.“Yes. That one.”I opened my mouth.Closed it.Opened it again.“You're joking.”“I'm not.”“But he's the principal.”“And?”“And you're a student!”“I'm also the captain of the hockey team, the heir to a throne, and apparently the most interesting person you've ever met.”I grabbed the pillow again. He raised both hands.“Put it down, bumblebee.”“Call me that one more time, and I'll introduce your face to this pill

  • My Hockey Captain Is A Werewolf   She Shouldn’t Be Different

Chapter Eighteen Phina’s POVShe Shouldn't Be Different“Her temperature is dropping.”“Then do something about it.”“I am doing something, Your Majesty. But I need you to understand that this isn't a normal reaction.”“She's human.”A bitter laugh escaped the man speaking.“Is she?”I wanted to open my eyes.I really did.Unfortunately, my eyelids felt as though someone had glued them together, and my entire body weighed approximately a thousand kilograms.Besides, the voices sounded far away, as though I were lying at the bottom of a swimming pool while a group of people argued on the surface.“Get the pack healers here,” Leander ordered.“I've already sent for them,” another voice replied. It sounded older, calmer, and considerably less interested in being shouted at. “But if her condition is what I suspect, a pack healer might not be enough.”“What do you mean, might not be enough?”“There's a difference between treating an ordinary wolf and treating someone whose body is reactin
