MILES' POV

I raised a brow, not even realizing when a small laugh escaped my lips. For a second, I genuinely thought I must have heard wrong. Out of all the things I expected Anabel to say today, that was definitely not one of them.

Divorce? Her?

The same woman who had spent years clinging to this marriage no matter what happened? The same woman who always stayed, always forgave, always endured?

The thought alone sounded ridiculous.

I stared at her for a few seconds. "What?"

CIERRA'S POV “Babe,” I said as I approached Miles by the poolside. He gently looked up at me from his laptop, his expression immediately telling me to speak. His fingers paused above the keyboard while his attention shifted fully toward me. “I wanna show you something,” I said before opening my phone and going straight to my gallery. I began scrolling through the pictures on my phone, searching for one in particular. It had to be somewhere here. I knew I still had it. When I first used this excuse on Zach, I had gone out of my way to make it believable. Back then, I generated a fake movie ticket image with ChatGPT just to make sure he wouldn't question anything. The memory almost made me laugh honestly, I never thought I would end up using the same trick again, but why fix something that wasn't broken? The excuse worked perfectly before there was no reason it wouldn't work now. I continued scrolling through dozens of old images until I finally found what I was looking for. There

  • My Husband Brought His Mistress Home   CHAPTER 027

CIERRA'S POV I have to say, watching that cab move farther and farther away yesterday was one of the most joyous things I've felt in a very long time. The thought crossed my mind once again as I slowly walked around the living room. Even now, almost a full day later, the satisfaction still hadn't faded. In fact, every single time I remembered the look on Anabel's face as she left, the feeling only became stronger. I mean, who would've thought she'd decide to walk away from all this by herself? She's clearly nothing but a gold digger, so why... I bent slightly and looked toward the poolside through the large glass doors. Miles was still sitting over there with his laptop open in front of him. His attention seemed completely occupied by whatever work he was doing. A small smile appeared on my face. Yesterday, when Anabel left, I had briefly become worried. The way Miles stood there watching her leave almost made me think there was still a tiny piece of him somewhere that cared abo

  • My Husband Brought His Mistress Home   CHAPTER 026

ANABEL'S POV I stood in the middle of the bedroom with my suitcase lying open on the bed. My eyes slowly moved around the room that had been mine for years. Somehow, it felt different now. Maybe it was because I was looking at it knowing I was leaving and not storming out after an argument, not going out to clear my head, not leaving for a few hours and returning later. Leaving for good. I swallowed hard and slowly bent down to pick up another stack of clothes from the wardrobe. My hands paused halfway. Was I really doing this? A few hours ago, I would have laughed if someone had told me I would be packing my things and preparing to walk away from this marriage. Yet here I was. One shirt after another disappeared into the suitcase. One dress after another followed. The more things I packed, the emptier the room started to look. And the emptier the room looked, the more real everything became. I slowly sat down on the edge of the bed and rubbed my forehead. This was a bad idea.

  • My Husband Brought His Mistress Home   CHAPTER 025

MILES' POV My hand went to my head as I let out a small sigh. "Fuck," I muttered under my breath, pinching the bridge of my nose. The pressure building inside my skull only seemed to get worse the more I thought about what had just happened. Everything had spiraled out of control so quickly that I still couldn't properly process it. Just a few minutes ago, I had been sitting in my office, thinking I was in control of the situation, thinking I had everything figured out. Now Anabel had walked out with divorce on her mind. How the hell did this happen? This wasn't how any of this was supposed to go. She wasn't supposed to hear that conversation. She wasn't supposed to know about the pregnancy. And now she was talking about divorce? I didn't want that. The realization annoyed me even more because I couldn't understand why I didn't want it. For months now, things between Anabel and me had been dead. We barely spoke. We barely spent time together. I couldn't even remember the last

MILES' POVI raised a brow, not even realizing when a small laugh escaped my lips. "What?" From the corner of my eye, I could have sworn I saw a small smile appear on Cierra's face as she sat on the couch. It was brief, so brief that if I'd blinked, I would have missed it. But the moment she noticed me looking, it vanished immediately, replaced by her usual expression. "You heard me clearly. I'm done. I'm sick and tired of enduring all this. I can't take this pain anymore, so I want a divorce," Anabel said. I paused for a moment, then slowly looked down at the file she had shoved into my hands. H

  • My Husband Brought His Mistress Home   CHAPTER 023

MILES' POV “Are you sure you're fine?” I asked Cierra again as she continued shaking, tears sliding down her cheeks. Seeing her like that only made the rage inside me grow worse. My breathing became heavier as I stared at the red mark forming on her face. That good-for-nothing bitch. How dare she do this? How dare she walk in here and put her hands on Cierra? She's pregnant, for crying out loud. The thought alone made my blood boil. I turned my attention toward Anabel as she slowly pushed herself back to her feet. Her eyes were red from crying, her hair slightly messy, and yet somehow, the first thing that came out of her mouth wasn't an apology. It wasn't regret. It wasn't even an explanation. “Miles, you slapped me?” she said, her voice filled with disbelief. I could hear how shocked she was, but honestly, I didn't care. That slap was a warning. If she thought she could walk around slapping whoever she wanted, then I would remind her exactly where the line was. “Because yo

ANABEL'S POV I stood frozen on the spot, my eyes wide with shock and my mouth hanging open as a hard lump formed in my throat. I tried to swallow, but I couldn't. It felt as though my entire body had suddenly stopped functioning properly. Was it just my ears, or did I really hear Cierra say she w

ANABEL'S POV I mean, I should remember. I was in the passenger seat when I left, so why was it so difficult for me to remember? The more I thought about it, the more annoyed I became with myself. It wasn't like I was unconscious the entire ride. I was sitting right there beside the driver. I shou

ANABEL'S POVI didn’t even recognize the confused look on my own face as I stared at the next picture. For several seconds, I simply sat there looking at my phone screen without moving. The picture itself wasn’t complicated. It wasn’t anything shocking, yet somehow it still managed to confuse me

ANABEL'S POV Knock. Knock. The moment I heard the sound, my heartbeat instantly calmed down. The tension that had suddenly built inside my chest disappeared almost as quickly as it had come. For a moment, I genuinely thought it was Miles. After everything Chloe and I had just discussed, after f
