I couldn't take my eyes off the note.

Welcome home, Lily. I've been waiting for you.

My hands started shaking.

"This isn't home," I whispered.

Jax stepped in front of me and folded the note into his pocket.

"It might have been once," he said. "But right now, it's a trap."

Jimmy looked around the room.

"Then where's the person who left this?"

No one answered.

The old house was silent.

Mark slowly walked toward the wooden box on the floor.

"I'll open it."

"Wait," Jax said. "It could be dangerous.

  • My Husband Shared Me:A New Year's Filthy Threesome    Thin Line

The bandage stayed dark with dust and dried blood.Jimmy sat on the edge of the bed after supper. Lily-Rose had changed it once already. The cut still pulsed under the clean cloth. He flexed his fingers and felt the sting run up his arm.Lily-Rose stood by the dresser folding a shirt. She did not look at him at first.“You should keep it clean,” she said.“I will.”She set the shirt down and turned. The space between them felt thinner than it had that morning, but it was still there.“You let Jax tell you what to do today.”“Yeah.”“That never used to happen.”Jimmy looked at the bandage.“I was too tired to fight it.”“Or the crack is real.”He did not answer right away. The words sat in the room with them. Outside the last light left the yard. Somewhere down the hall the spare room stayed closed.Jimmy stood and walked to the window. His reflection looked tired in the dark glass.“I felt it when the wire cut me. Then again when you cleaned it. Then again when he sent me in.”Lily-Ro

The wire jumped and cut him.Blood ran down Jimmy’s arm and mixed with the dust. He pressed his glove over the cut and hissed. His hands had been slow all morning. Too many nights with almost no sleep. The posts stood crooked. The wire ran uneven. Small mistakes kept coming. He held the wound until the blood slowed. Then he wiped it on his jeans and forced the wire back into place. Sweat stung his eyes. The cut burned every time he moved his fingers.Lily-Rose watched from the garden. She set her basket down, walked across the ground, and stopped a few steps away.“You’re bleeding.”“It’s nothing.”“It’s not nothing. You’re half asleep on your feet.”Jimmy kept his eyes on the post. He drove it in harder than it needed. The shock ran up his arms.“I said it’s nothing.”Lily-Rose did not step back.“You’re going to hurt yourself worse if you keep working like this.”He turned. His eyes were red. The cut still leaked under the glove.“I don’t need looking after.”“I’m not looking after

  • My Husband Shared Me:A New Year's Filthy Threesome    Still Separate

Sun sat high when Jimmy drove the last post into the ground.Sweat ran down his spine and soaked the back of his shirt. Dust covered his boots and the lower legs of his jeans. He pulled off his gloves and flexed his fingers. The skin across his palms felt tight and dry. He looked toward the garden without meaning to.Lily-Rose worked the far rows with steady movements. The basket sat beside her. She did not glance his way.He picked up the water jug and drank. The water tasted warm and metallic. He poured the rest over his head and let it run down his face and neck. It mixed with the dust and left muddy tracks on his skin.He stayed on the north side until the light began to fade. Only then did he walk back toward the house.Jax’s truck was already in the yard. The man himself stood near the porch steps washing his hands at the outside tap. He looked up once when Jimmy approached.“South fence is finished,” Jax said. “Nothing broken.”Jimmy nodded.“Alright.”That was all. Jax shook t

  • My Husband Shared Me:A New Year's Filthy Threesome    Cool Sheet

Jimmy lay awake a long time. The sheet between him and Lily-Rose felt cool and smooth against his arm. He could sense the warm shape of her body a short way off, but nothing more. Her breathing stayed steady and slow. She faced the wall. She had not turned toward him.His body stayed stiff. Every time he moved, the small cuts on his hands rubbed the cloth and stung. He opened and closed his fingers once, then left them still. The mattress under him felt firm and slightly cool where his skin touched it.He listened. The spare room gave no sound. No one walked the hall. Only her slow breaths and a faint tick somewhere in the walls filled the room. A light breeze moved past the window and carried the dry smell of grass and dust into the bedroom. He rolled onto his back. The ceiling was pure black. He counted slow seconds and felt the same hard pull along the side of his neck that had lived there for days. One hand rested on his stomach. The skin there felt warm under his palm. He wanted

  • My Husband Shared Me:A New Year's Filthy Threesome    Empty Air

Jimmy came back from the gate after the light was fully gone. The house felt different the moment he stepped inside. Lily-Rose had finished the dishes and left the kitchen. A single light stayed on over the counter. The third chair sat pushed in. No sound came from the spare room.He stood in the doorway longer than he needed to. His hands hung at his sides. The metal of the gate rail still clung to his palms, cool and rough. He rubbed them once against his jeans and walked to the sink. He ran water over his hands and shut it off without drinking.Lily-Rose’s footsteps moved in the hallway, then stopped at their bedroom door. She did not call him. She did not wait.Jimmy turned off the kitchen light and followed. The bedroom was already dim. She had changed into one of his old shirts and sat on the edge of the bed, brushing her hair with slow strokes. She looked up when he came in, then looked back at the brush. He shut the door.“You didn’t wait.”“I was tired.”He sat on his side of

  • My Husband Shared Me:A New Year's Filthy Threesome    Pulling Back

The morning after the marks felt different under the skin.Lily-Rose moved through the kitchen with careful space around her. She poured coffee, set a cup near Jimmy without letting their fingers meet, and took her own to the far side of the counter. She did not lean into him. She did not rest against him the way she used to without thinking.Jimmy noticed. The absence landed harder than any argument.Jax finished his coffee, said he was taking the south line, and left with the same exact report he always gave now. The door shut behind him. The two of them were alone.Lily-Rose rinsed her cup. Water ran over her hands.“I’m going to the far garden rows today. They need weeding.”Jimmy watched her face.“You usually ask me to help with those.”“I can manage.”She dried her hands, picked up the basket, and walked out. No kiss on the cheek. No brush of her shoulder against his. Just the soft sound of the screen door and then her boots on the porch.Jimmy stood at the counter for a long t
