Larissa’s Pov

I stared at the screen, unsure of what I was meant to do. The number stared back at me, a daunting feeling gnawing at the back of my neck. My fingers burned as I picked up the phone, staring at the numbers flashing on the screen.

‘Don’t pick it.’ My conscience gnawed. I knew I shouldn’t, but the more I tried to hide it, the more the call kept on ringing until it was hard to stop.

“Hello?” I whispered, my tone soft as I stared at the w

Larissa’s Pov The pain was the first thing that I felt. Not gentle, throbbing, the kind that slams hard against your skull as if it were about to rip my head in two. My eyes snapped open, meeting nothing but darkness. I let out a strangled sound, my wrist burning from the chain holding them tight. I tried to look around, to find anything that would show me where I was. But all I got was pitch darkness. The air was damp, this place hadn’t been used before, or maybe it had been long abandoned. Where was I? The thought came with pain that clung to my throat, restricted the little breath that I tried to take. I yanked my hand forward, feeling the chain burn into my wrist, a tiny whimper slid through my lips. “Hello,” my voice cracked, soft, almost unfamiliar in my ears. Nothing. All I got was the echo, the reminder that I was alone. Footsteps echoed behind what I thought was a door, each step causing my pulse to quicken

  • My Husband Wants An Open Marriage    Chapter 96

Zephan’s Pov “What do you mean your wife has been sleeping with your stepfather?” Eric asked for the umpteenth time with a smile on his face.I didn’t care if he had the best laugh, but my mind was filled with anger, Monica had been nice enough to leave proof, things that I never paid attention to. She had gone on trips, met up with him in the city and still gave me hell for being the man that I was. “Pity little Larissa, who knew she had some kink in her,” he muttered under his breath. She had the kink, and it had to be my fucking step… fucking Harl. I couldn’t call him stepfather. I couldn’t do that, not after everything that he had done. What was with him and going after the Vale women, first my mother and now. My wife. “What are you going to?” Eric asked, his voice snapping me back to reality. What was I going to do? She was gone, probably from heartbreak, who knows I barely even knew the woman I called wife.

Harl’s Pov “How fucking hard is it to track a freaking number?!” I hissed, my hands tightening around the steering wheel as I swerved through cars. For some reason, getting to the airport felt like I was driving on a freaking treadmill.“We are doing what we can say, we just haven’t found the right….”“You are not offering your freaking best!” I roared, shutting him up. Darius's hand touched mine, “Maybe you should focus on your driving and let them handle what they know how to do best.” He said in a low tone.I snapped my head to his side, eyes wide in anger, “Has she picked up?” I hissed. Even though I knew my number had been blocked, I couldn’t bring myself to stop hoping that, in between the calls, I would finally be able to reach out to her. “Nothing,” he muttered.“Fuck!” I slammed the ball of my fist into the steering wheel, jerking it aggressively. “Maybe you should park the car, I can drive,” h

  • My Husband Wants An Open Marriage    Chapter 94

Larissa’s Pov The airport buzzed with life, but I couldn’t get myself to enjoy every minute of it. Everything felt like I was holding onto the brink of self-control, if I stared too long at a family, watching the way the father smiled at his daughter and wife, it made it feel like I was about to drop to the ground and cry my eyes out. My fingers tugged hard on the hoodie that was covering my face, I needed to draw as little attention as I could to myself. Nothing screamed more than a woman sitting in the airport and crying. My finger brushed my stomach, feeling the muscle squeeze at the touch. For a minute there had been a deluded side of me, the version of me that had hoped and prayed that Harl and I would have the life I was seeing others live. I was foolish. Too foolish to realise that dreams don’t come true in a haunted world. My phone chimed, the same thing that it had been doing for the past hours, I couldn’t look at

Harl’s pov“What do you have for me Fred,” I hissed, unable to hide the bad mood that I was currently stuck in. Larissa hadn’t picked up my calls, and she didn't even bother to read my texts. No matter how many times I sent them, it felt like they weren’t getting anywhere.Fred said nothing, rather, he watched me with a sullen look on his face as if he was sad for me. “Make it quick!” I snapped.“She has booked a flight for tonight.” The words hit me harder than they should. My fingers clenched around the edge of the table, holding it tight as I stared at the man standing in front of me.“What?” the word slid through, making its way through the fog in my mind. “Is Zephan….”“No, he isn’t… he was home while she left,” he said before I could complete the question. That should have made me feel some kind of relief but it didn’t. Because even if she wasn’t with Zephan, she wasn’t with me either and that hurt.My eyes met Fred, he looked like he had more to say, but was only buying his

Zephan’s Pov She was gone. Bags packed and gone as if I had meant nothing to her, as if our years together had been nothing.“You should be celebrating, I don’t understand the look on your face,” Eric muttered staring at me with a confused look on his face. I ignored his words, it wasn’t just about her leaving, it was the fact that her absence had caused something, a part of me that I had seen during my mother’s funeral. With her around, it made it feel like I had someone to hold onto. Like I had some kind of backbone. Now…it felt empty.Eric scoffed. “You know what I think? She will be back soon; a woman like that only wants attention, she wants to feel important, don’t give…” I slammed my hand against the counter top, my glare fixed on his face. He was quiet watching me with a curious gaze. “Don’t you ever shut the fuck up?” I hissed. He blinked, looking at me was if I had insulted him. “Zephan….”I wasn’t hav
