Chapter 48: Guilt

I scheduled my interactions with Lucas over the course of the following day. I braided my hair in a style that he used to like, applied the tiniest bit of his favorite scent, and dressed in ways that highlighted my best curves. I was aware that I was engaging in risky behavior, yet I couldn't stop it now. I want to see Roxanne get jealous. I want to see what she will do while others steal the man she loves.

"So? Hi, Lucas!"

"What's our business here?" I asked him. He stood up from sitting and then asked me to sit in the chair opposite him. I turned my eyes for a moment, I hope there is no camera secretly focused on us now.

"Hmm. Nothing, Dianna. I just thought I'd invite you here for coffee. You know, I missed getting at least a small talk with you." I smiled at him that you thought I was happy to be with him and talk to him now even though I wasn't.

"Here are your coffees, Sir. and Ma'am."

"Thank you," said Lucas. I stared at the coffee cup, I barely sat there.
