Hannah

I shook my head several times.

“Her heart was weak since birth, so she needed a heart transplant. Before moving to this apartment, Emma already had a new heart. Bella said an angel helped them,” one of the community members replied.

An angel? Not an angel, but my husband.

Before they moved to their current apartment? That means it happened about two years ago. And that means Jason had been in contact with her long before that.

Oh, God.

If he didn’t love me, why did he ask me to marry him?

“She’s really lucky to have met her guardian angel. But strangely, Mike gave a different answer,” another community member said. Suddenly, all eyes were on her. We were all waiting for her explanation.

“Did you ask Mike?” Jennifer asked to confirm. The woman who made the statement nodded. She looked confident.

“What did Mike say?” I asked curiously.

“Mike said that Bella’s parents paid for Emma’s heart surgery. Those are two conflicting answers, right?” Everyone nodded in agreement.

“He’s pretty strange. I mean, his family is mysterious,” one of the community members remarked.

“Maybe we should stop talking about his family. How about we go shopping at the mall after this?” Jennifer suggested. All the women present immediately agreed, except me, who remained silent and drifted back into my thoughts.

Why did Mike give different answers? Could it be that Mike knew nothing, or did he know but choose to ignore it? But what kind of man would willingly share his wife with another man? I couldn’t think anymore. However, at least I already knew the answer to the insurance question.

That night, it was already nine o’clock, but Jason still hadn’t come home. I tried to call him, but he rejected my call. I tried to be patient. Suddenly, a message from Jason came in.

“I am still at the office. I have a lot of work to do,” he wrote.

I read the message repeatedly. It was a cold message. He didn’t know how worried Jensen and I were about him.

A few days ago, I saved the cell phone numbers of some of his coworkers. After considering several things, I sent a message to a woman named Kimmy. I had met her several times at company parties. However, before I sent the message to Kimmy, I replied to Jason’s message first.

“Don’t forget to eat. I’m waiting for you to come home,” I replied.

Then, I hurriedly sent a message to Kimmy asking about Jason’s condition since he was working overtime that night. I couldn’t ask her directly because I was worried she would tell Jason.

However, Kimmy’s answer was completely different. She said that her company had not required overtime for a long time because they had hired additional staff.

Once again, I faced a harsh reality. My suspicions were correct. Jason must be with Bella somewhere.

The rain fell heavily that night, accompanied by strong winds that rattled the windows of my living room. Time kept passing, but Jason still hadn’t come home.

What should I do?

Suddenly, a crazy idea popped into my head. Maybe I could go down to the fifth floor and check the situation around Bella’s apartment.

Something urged me to make this idea a reality. This curiosity was killing me. I rushed into my room, changed clothes, and put on a thick sweater to protect myself from the cold.

Before leaving, I checked on Jensen first. I saw he was still fast asleep. Before leaving his bedroom, I tidied up the blanket that was scattered around so Jensen wouldn’t get cold.

Seeing Jensen’s innocent face made me feel guilty. After all, he deserved a perfect family.

But I couldn’t make that happen for him because this marriage was becoming increasingly meaningless.

After closing Jensen’s door, I hurried out and locked the door behind me. Bella’s apartment was close to the elevator, so I went down to the fifth floor via the emergency staircase even though I didn’t feel very comfortable using it because it was silent and the lights weren’t dazzling.

However, something different happened in the emergency stairwell. The lights were brighter, and there were several evacuation warning signs for earthquakes, etc., so it didn’t look scary.

I slowly descended the stairs and hid behind the wall separating the stairwell from the residential units. The area in front of Bella’s apartment looked deserted, but the lights inside were on.

I couldn’t get any closer. If Bella or Mike suddenly came out, all my efforts would be in vain. But it seemed like fate was on my side, opening my eyes wider and clearing my mind to see the truth.

Jason and Bella came out of the door, kissing passionately. Even Bella’s top was half-open. But that wasn’t the worst part.

Our apartment was exclusive, and amid such heavy rain, all the residents would certainly prefer to stay indoors rather than spend time outside.

So, the night was quiet. Even mosquitoes weren’t visible flying around us.

With my eyes wide open, I saw Jason kissing Bella’s upper body with passion. Then, his hand slipped inside her skirt, and a moment later, he pulled off Bella’s white underwear and let it lie on the floor.

Oh, God.

However, what was about to happen was far worse than the worst. Jason slipped inside Bella’s wide skirt. Bella’s legs were spread wide open. Soon after, Bella let out a long moan while closing her eyes. Occasionally, her hands squeezed her breasts.

Jason preferred spending time with Bella rather than with me or Jensen.

I couldn’t bear to watch that hot and disgusting scene any longer. We hadn’t had sex for almost two weeks. I was sure he was having an amazing sexual experience with Bella compared to me, a fat and unattractive woman.

Finally, I left them and go back to my apartment. But the tears wouldn’t stop falling. I had to wipe them away before Jason or Jensen saw them.

However, the longer I tried to hold back my tears, the more they flowed. My heart ached so much that I couldn’t walk up the stairs.

Jason, you’re evil! How could you destroy me like this, making my life seem meaningless?

Just as I was trying to muster the strength to go up to the sixth floor, Mike appeared and stepped out of the elevator. He looked shocked to see me sitting on the floor in a position as if I had fallen.

“Mrs. Howard, are you okay?” he called out. At that moment, he was carrying two large packages. As soon as he saw me, he placed the packages on the floor and ran toward me.

  • My Husband's Betrayal   CH 114

HannahAfter showering and putting on our Christmas-themed pajamas, Chris and I hurried downstairs to join the others. That night, we were all wearing the same Christmas-themed pajamas, with the same pattern but different colors. The women wore red pajamas, while the men wore green pajamas. We also wore red Christmas hats.“Finally, you’re here,” Mark said.“We’ve all been waiting for you,” Mom said as she carried two large paper boxes filled with salty and sweet popcorn.“Hmm, I want popcorn,” I said.“Later. Now help us in the kitchen,” Mom answered. I joined Mom, Anne, and Chloe in the kitchen to prepare dinner. Meanwhile, Alice and the twins were to set the dining table. Chris, Mark, and Jensen set up the living room, which would be used for gift exchange and watching movies together. So, after the gift exchange, we would watch a movie together. We had agreed on the movie a long time ago. Therefore, Mom prepared popcorn, potato chips, and Cokes.I saw that the roast chicken in the

HannahAfter going to our respective rooms and lying down, I still couldn’t close my eyes. Chris felt the same way.“I’m still scared and shocked. I can’t imagine what would happen if something bad happened to Alice and Jensen,” he said.I hugged him and rested my head on his chest. “Me too. Everything was unexpected. Luckily, that man helped Alice.”“Yes. She must be traumatized. Would you mind keeping her company when you’re not busy? Maybe women can understand each other better,” Chris asked.“Okay. It looks like she’s getting close to Jensen.”“Yes, I saw them holding hands all the way. There is a lesson behind everything,” Chris replied. After that, we were silent, just thinking to ourselves. Destiny is unique and funny. After a tense event, a close relationship was formed. At first, Alice was cold towards us. But on the way home, she rested her head on Jensen’s head, and they held hands. An event connected a broken thread. I don’t know whether I should be grateful or sad because

Alice Walker“Sister?” I blurted out spontaneously.Jensen turned around and gave me a wink. I understood his signal. Together with the twins, we took a few steps back from him.“Please don’t cause any trouble and leave us alone. If you insist, we’ll call the police,” Jensen said. I didn’t expect him to be so articulate. But that wasn’t what moved me. It was his courage and attitude that amazed me.An unexpected reaction occurred. A group of five teenagers, all tall and well-built, laughed loudly. If I guessed correctly, they were high school students. Probably tenth or eleventh graders. Two of them had acne-covered faces and were slightly overweight. The other three were quite handsome and had athletic bodies like basketball players. However, I didn’t like the look in their eyes. It was a look that wanted to strip me naked. They licked their lips as if they thought I was food they wanted to taste. But I knew what they meant. I had seen eyes like theirs when my mom was hugging two men

Alice WalkerThat morning, when Ms. Hannah and I met at the villa entrance, I greeted her with an icy stare and attitude. I realized I had made a mistake. But I was only trying to protect myself and my family.I had indeed been rude and hurt her feelings. But I didn’t know her true intentions in pursuing a relationship with my dad. No one knows what’s in another person’s heart. I could only wait and watch her behavior. Grandma would surely tell me the truth. After that unpleasant greeting, I went into my bedroom and lay down. My head hurt, and sadness crept back into my heart. Why did my parents have to divorce? Why was my family different from other families? When I was little, I thought I had a perfect and happy life. I had everything that other people didn’t have. Grandma, Dad, and Mom spoiled me, especially since I was an only child and the heir to the Walkers Company. Of course, everything I needed and wanted was fulfilled. However, Grandma and Dad were quite strict and disciplin

HannahSince we had bought premium tickets at the carnival entrance, we could go straight onto the Ferris wheel. All the cabins were full, and the reason for our mischievous idea was that I noticed each cabin was very enclosed, like a small room that provided complete privacy for each passenger. Before entering the cabin, Chris bought two large Cokes, a large cup of popcorn, and French fries. After entering the cabin, we sat close to each other, leaning back in our seats without talking, just staring at the night sky decorated with many stars.“The sky is so beautiful,” I said.“Do you like this vacation?” Chris asked.“Yes. I’ve never been on vacation to a villa, soaked in a hot spring, or gone to a carnival, tried all the rides, and bought lots of food. Because my mother had little money, we prioritized the important things first. Vacations, carnivals, and snacks were just secondary needs that didn’t have to be fulfilled. To be honest, my childhood wasn’t very pleasant. I rarely tra

Hannah“Sorry to hear that. I didn’t know you had a tough childhood,” Alice said. Her tone was empathetic.“Thank you. Because my mom worked two jobs, I was to cook, while my big brother was to clean the house and put the laundry in the washing machine. I saw my mom when the sun had already set. She would come home, take a shower, eat, say hello to us briefly, kiss us on the forehead, and then go to bed. The next morning, I would prepare breakfast. That routine continued until we grew up and could support ourselves.”“What happened next?” she asked curiously.“Once our family’s financial situation stabilized, my mom only took one job. My big brother moved to Sunnyville to study and work. Luckily, he got a scholarship. I studied at Riverford and still live with my mom. Besides studying, I also worked part-time at a fast-food restaurant every afternoon until evening, five days a week. I used the weekends to sleep in, read books, and go out with my best friend, April. I didn’t expect tha
