CHAPTER 3 She is Pregnant

The sudden fear in her eyes and frightful cry scared Steve and Rita as well.

They both tried to catch her to coax and calm her, but she started swaying her hand towards Steve, while ranting boo, boo, boo, boo nonstop.

She was continuously crying and struggling to shove him away in front of her. She then snuggles herself in aunty Rita's arms and hides her face while crying and shouting, "Boo, boo, boo".

Steve didn't understand what happened to her. But she was still sobbing in aunty Rita's arms.

After some time, she peeked a little from aunty Rita’s shoulder. Her gaze fell on him, and she immediately squeezed her eyes.

She once again hides her face in aunty Rita's shoulder and once again increased her crying.

Steve concludes she is not comfortable with his occurrence. He dashed out of the room and squeezed his eyes in disappointment.

He doesn’t know why he was feeling bad when she behaved like this with him. How he wronged him?

Being frustrated he took out his mobile and called Dr. Parker and told him the recent incident. Dr. Parker assured him to be there soon.

Within an hour, Dr. Parker shows up and moved to Edwards mansion’s guest bedroom to check on her.

But she again panicked. She reacted in the same way after seeing Dr. Parker as she reacted after glancing at Steve.

On the last visit, a few hours back, Dr. Parker able to check on her because she was unconscious. But in her conscious state, even a single glance on him making her frightened.

Dr. Parker tried his best to coax her and persuade her to let him check her up with the help of Rita, but she didn’t calm a bit and keep crying while ranting boo, boo, boo.

Nobody understands this panic attack of her and it's irksome for Steve that he couldn’t able to go in front of her.

Dr. Parker came out of the room and moved towards the living hall with a disappointed face where Steve was waiting for the result.

“Mr. Edwards, I am sorry I couldn’t able to make it. I think she has fears of men. Perhaps those people who tortured her to the extent were all men.” Dr. Parker said.

“Hmm, what we could do?” Steve said.

“First, tell me, is she ok with other female servants as like she is with Rita?"

“I don't know either, I have to ask from aunty Rita." Steve turned to another maid. “Ruby, call aunty Rita from the guest bedroom.”

A moment later Rita aunty shows up in the living hall, leaving Ruby with that girl.

“Aunty Rita is she ok with other female staff, or fearing from them too?” Steve asked.

“No young master, it thrills her with all-female around her as nothing happened. She is not even bothered where she is, neither bother about surrounding nor for any of her family members or nonacquaintance people. But as she is finding any men around her, it made her cry while shouting 'boo, boo'.” 

“Mr. Edwards, it's a matter of a girl, I think you should call a lady doctor. She will examine her so that we will come to know about those detailed points also that I missed. She has suffered violence and has fear from men, we should know is there any sign of assault. Are you getting my point?" Dr. Parker said.

Steve didn’t answer, just nod in agreement

“One more thing Mr. Edwards, as your family doctor and your well-wisher I am suggesting you please speak to the police first and lodge a complaint.” Dr. Parker suggested.

Steve again nods his head.

“If you need any help of mine, please let me know. I have some unfinished business to finish I will take your leave first.”.

“Thanks a lot, Dr. Parker,” Steve said and shake his hand from Dr. Parker, and he walked out of the Edwards mansion.

Steve Edwards invites the police officer into his mansion, because in the situation with the girl, they can't take her to the police station.

“What is her name?" The first question the police officer asked.

Obviously, Steve doesn’t know her name. He only shrugged his shoulder. 

"Aunty Rita did you try to ask her name? Did she answer?" Steve asked Rita in the hope maybe that girl has told her name or anything about her to Rita.

“No young master, she is not talking much about her and neither telling her name nor anything else about herself. When I was changing her clothes, I saw an ‘S’ letter covered with clouds, a tattoo on the back of her shoulder, maybe her name started from the letter ‘S’. That's why I started addressing her Sky." Rita said.

“Sky,” Steve mumbles.

"Ok right now to proceed with the case I will write her name as Sky, but if she will speak or you will come to know her name please, let me know.” The police officer said while writing about Sky in a file paper.

“Alright.” 

"Mr. Edwards, I need one photo of her. I have to forward it to all local police stations to verify whether anybody files any missing complain about her"

Steve forward the picture of Sky to the police officer. Aunty Rita clicked the picture of her, that too with great difficulty. She behaves like a butterfly can’t sit idle fluttering and giggling all the time. 

It was not very easy to handle her. They are glad that she mingles with Rita fast. Rita gave her a soft toy which was the only toy in the big Edwards mansion and when she was hugging the soft toy Rita clicked the photo.

“Is there anything with her that can help us identify her?” The police officer asked.

"Don’t know,” Edwards said and looked towards Rita.

If it is about Sky, only Rita knew everything, Steve is clueless.

“Officer she was wearing pieces of jewelry like earrings, a chain with a small pendant, and a small diamond ring in her middle finger. Other than these things she was not carrying anything with her." Rita answer.

“Hmm, seems like she is from some good family. Maybe she is not mentally healthy since the beginning and maybe split from the family during some outing.” The police officer just expressed his doubts.

“Hmm,” Steve still said nothing just hummed.

“Most times, family members themselves dump their young mentally challenged children, taking them as a burden. If it is something like that, then nobody will come forward to claim.”

The police officer was blabbering his all doubts and Steve have no interest in listening to all this.

The thought already upsets him he can’t go in front of her.

“Whatever it is, keep searching. I want to see her family.” Steve said.

Steve’s tone was overbearing, Police officer realized he went farther with his blabber.

“Yes, sure Mr. Edwards, we will try our best.” The police officer said in a fawning tone. 

“Hmm, Alright, you can take your leave if you got all the possible information you need.”

“Yes, I am done.” 

The police officer walked out of Steve’s mansion with the information he needs to work on the case. 

“Sky" Steve mumbles once again and went towards the guest bedroom which becomes Sky’s room in one day.

Steve couldn’t restrain to see her once. He peeked behind the door to see whether she is sleeping or awake.

Fortunately, she was sleeping peacefully while hugging the soft toy Rita gave her while clicking the photo.

Steve entered the room fearlessly and look towards her face which is having a very gorgeous innocent smile.

“Wow, after stealing my sleep how peacefully she is sleeping, but she looks so innocent and beautiful while sleeping," Steve mumbles to himself.

After staring at her for some time, Steve crawls out of the room reluctantly with a heavy heart.

After many days, his emotions once again getting out of control since he saw her.

‘Ahh, from where she appeared in my life and making difficult for my hardly controlled emotions. Why am I attracting towards her?’

“Young master, I have called a lady doctor for her, she has arrived,” Rita informed Steve, breaking his disturbing thoughts.

“Bring her to Sky and explain the case carefully,” Steve said.

After instructing Rita, he settled in the living hall in wait for the doctor to finish Sky’s checkup.

After some time lady doctor came to the living hall after completing Sky’s examination.

“Mr. Edwards, Dr. Parker’s doubt was right some have tortured her to the extent and molested as well.” Lady doctor, Dr. Margaret said.

“I guess because of the extreme torture she lost her mental balance and perhaps this is the reason for her fear of men." Dr. Margaret continued.

Dr. Margaret, we have already filed a police complaint. What do you suggest we should do next? Shall we contact the lunatic asylum?" Rita said.

None of them noticed the frown faced Steve, after listening to Rita mentioning to send Sky to the lunatic asylum.

“That’s good if you filed a police complaint, they will try to search her family. She needs to be with her family soon because it's one more shocking news about her." Dr. Margret said.

“What was that?" Steve asked impatiently.

“She is three months pregnant."
