CHAPTER 5 Understanding Sky

“Sky.”

She answers her name in a baritone, making Steve disappointed.

Steve was hoping at least to get her actual name so that it will help him search for her family, relatives, friends, or acquittance, but she repeated the name given by Rita. Steve was disappointed, but he didn't show it to her.

"Ball?" Sky again said in a baritone and forward her hand to grab the ball.

Steve forwards another empty hand and spoke in a polite tone, "If you want this ball first you have to become my friend, will you?"

His aim was to bring her out from her inner shell and want to know more about her by becoming her friend.

Sky indeed has fear from a man but she wasn’t scared of Steve like before and today he has a ball in hand. She was a glaring ball with greedy eyes, then she switches her gaze from the ball to his forwarded hand.

After thinking for some time, she held his hand for a handshake delicately.

As Steve held his hand, a shiver ran down from his body, giving him immense pleasure. He liked the moment which is surrounded by her cuteness and melodious voice.

“Do you know my name?" Steve asked immediately.

His aim was to buy time to talk to her and engage her to with him for long before she walked out from his company after taking the ball.

“No.” Sky nods her head in negative.

"My name is Steve"

Steve was smiling ear to ear, his innocent beauty responding to him the first time.

"Stee," Sky tried to repeat his name in her lisp way.

“No, it's Steve" He taught her correct pronunciation.

“Stee," She tried again, but again wronged his name.

After trying few times, Steve finally gave up. "Ok call me whatever you want."

"Ball" Sky again forwards her hand and back to her real purpose for which she was talking to him.

Steve saw the ball and smiles widely. He took a few steps back and shouts, "Catch." He threw the ball towards her with a tender pace according to her ability. She immediately catches it and enjoys it.

Steve becomes happy seeing her response to his fun. He then again yells, "Throw." 

Taking her command sincerely, she threw the ball on him, and he catches it.

And like this, they both started playing catch and throw ball games like a little kid. An abruptly one-time ball hits directly on Steve's face and Sky started laughing while clapping.

Steve shows fake anger and spoke. “You hit me through the ball, now you just wait what I will do to you."

Steve strode towards her with the ball in hand, and she started running in banter. Steve also chasing her like a kid.

After few circles around the couch, Steve threw the ball, and it hits at back of her head.

She stopped running and turned around with an angry pout. She was rubbing her head innocently, looking damn cute in Steve’s eyes.

He laughs loud making fun of her cuteness and this makes her angrier. She folds her hand on her chest with an angry pout and said in a baritone, “I will not talk to you anymore.”

Steve with amused. She was looking so cute with her antics. A powerful man like him adores a cute woman.

 To enjoy more with her, he continued playing around even in talking. “Why will you not talk to me anymore? Didn’t you hit my face? Steve points his index finger at his nose.

“When you hit you were giggling and when I retort you are showing your little anger. Hmm?” Steve said.

Sky’s mind is like a small child. She didn’t understand his long lecture of right and wrong and remain in her angry mode.

Steve shook his head and hopped towards her. He folds both hands and said, "Sorry."

The sky stretched her hand and unfold his folded hands. "It's ok Stee.” She said in a melodious voice with a smile.

Steve was surprised and happy as well. The first time he heard a sentence from her rather than a single word or boo, boo. She was happy and smiling, but more than her Steve was happy.

Rita was watching the magnetic scene from afar and said to another lady staff like gossipy, "Ruby since second master Steve back to LA, for the first time I saw him smiling wholeheartedly."

"Yes aunty Rita, miss Sky is really having some magical power to capture other’s hearts,” Ruby said.

A few days later at the dinner table, Steve was feeding Sky, because she doesn’t eat until Steve feeds her.

“Open your mouth fast." Steve forward the spoon towards her mouth and ordered.

Sky nods in disagreement. "Stee my tummy is full." She said while rubbing her flat belly with both hands.

"Sky, be a good girl. Finish your meal, after that, you have to take your medicines." Steve said in a strict tone.

"No, no, no medicines are yuck." Sky said abruptly while squinting her nose.

Steve is habitual of her tantrum and knows how to look after her. "But after that what will you get?" Steve said.

"Choco." Sky’s lisp language addresses chocolate as Choco.

She screams in excitement and took a bite immediately. She started clapping and jumping on her chair, bouncing her body.

Steve frown. Sky is pregnant, and it’s her first trimester. She should be careful, but she is naïve to understand these things that’s why Steve has to play tricks on her every time to take care of her.

"Shh, Sky, stop no jumping. I told you before not to jump or run otherwise, what will happen?" Steve tried to scare her.

Sky fright by his words. "No, no, no I will not jump anymore otherwise boo will show up." She immediately stopped jumping, but her eyes become fearful once again.

Steve hates to see the fear in her eyes, but he has no other option to make her obedient to him. 

She is fickle always jumps and runs around the mansion. But in her state of pregnancy, it can be harmful and she is not even in the state to understand all the precautious things for herself.

Even Steve wasn’t also aware of these things and already suffered an enormous loss before, but for Sky, he is extra careful since Rita being an experienced woman made him understand everything.

He signaled her nurse to take her to the room and give her medicine.

Steve appoints a full-time nurse for taking care of her because of her tender condition.

The nurse nods and moved towards Sky’s room holding her hand.

It's over 10 days since she entered Steve’s life. He once again stared, listening to his heart. That is the only why he refused. He didn’t think practically after everybody’s suggestion to let her go to the lunatic asylum or with police. 

He has found his heart attached to her and doesn’t want to let her go far from him.

Only if her family will come, he will think about letting her go or not from his side.

He even hired private investigators to search about her details, but neither police nor private investigator able to dig any information about Sky or her family.

When everybody failed miserably, he didn’t stop the investigation but concluded that she doesn’t have anybody in this world. And that's why she will be by his side from now on.

She also mingles with him like they knew each other for ages. She only used to have her breakfast and dinner by him feeding her otherwise she won’t. If he is even 5 minutes late to show up back home from the office in the evening, she becomes upset and even a few times she started crying.

Until now he has no reason to come back home early, but now he has his innocent beauty waiting for him. He tries his best to make her comfortable.

"Stee Choco, Stee Choco." Sky’s scream for him zoomed him out of his thoughts.

Steve shook his head with a smile and strode towards her room with a chocolate bar in his hand.

He feeds her chocolate and beckons the nurse to take care of her. She took her to the bathroom, washed her face, made her brush her teeth, change her long skirt and top in a satin night suit, and tied her long hairs in a braid.

The nurse sent her to bed and try to make her lay down, but she refused like stubborn because she only sleeps with Rita.

“Mr. Edwards, miss Sky is so obedient that she never troubles in anything.” The nurse said while thinking something.

“What do you mean?” Steve asked.

“I mean, we have seen so many patients, who create so much trouble for brushing teeth, for bath, for changing clothes, etc., etc. But miss Sky always follows everything silently. She bothers nobody for anything. Neither she irritates like other mentally challenged people nor nag, but she wants only to not sleep without aunty Rita and you feed her breakfast and dinner, that’s it, isn’t it so cute?”

Steve first time become surprised listening to something very different about her and made his conclusion, must be she was a very obedient girl or daughter of her parents and maybe pampered too. But if is that true, then where the hell her parents are? Why they are not at all bother for their daughter. Suddenly something strikes in his mind and he left the room by making a call.
