Lucian's POV

Mary had finally convinced me to spare the omega a glance, but what I saw next infuriated me.

I saw how she stiffened up, and how she tried to hide behind Mary, who knew I wasn't pleased. My reaction when I saw her must have made her realize she did something wrong.

“Why did you go through things you shouldn't have?” I asked, but she gulped. It was almost like she understood what she had done.

I knew that dress, and I wanted to know if she was a thief because no one had ever brought it out before.

“I'm deeply–”

“I gave her what she's wearing,” Mary interrupted with a strong look on her face. Her hands were curled into fists, and she glared at me.

“How dare you! I made sure no one brought up that dead memory. How could you disobey my orders?”

Mary huffed. “I would rather not speak to you in front of her.” she pointed towards Mia, whose grin died instantly. She rolled her eyes, and faced Mary.
