CHAPTER SEVENTEEN
Ethan's POV
"I know that smile!"
I looked at my right side and saw my best friend walking towards me.
I hid my phone inside my pants' pocket. I was just scanning the pictures that I secretly took from our vacation last week's vacation.
"You are late, Architect." I said in a serious voice.
I already told him to stop talking to me casually here in the building unless we are alone.
Papa and I were trying to set an example to our employees. Well, Mom was the one who pushed that back in the days when they were still dating.
"Chill, Boss E.T. I've got some good news for you."
CHAPTER EIGHTEEN Jessica's POV "Put on your face mask." Cindy reminded me before opening the door. I did what she said. "Thank you. I need to go." I kissed her cheek and hurriedly went out of the car. Dad already instructed me to go straight to the third floor. Daddy William is in critical condition now. I was praying so hard while waiting for the elevator to stop. I was so nervous. Ethan. I walked out of the lift and looked around the hallway.
CHAPTER NINETEEN Jessica's POV We all turned to our back when we heard the shuttering of glasses. Cindy's shocked expression pulled me back to my senses. "Dios mio!" Fabio exclaimed. "Cindy, are you alright?" I asked and stood up. "I-i'm okay. Sorry to disturb you guys." She said and started picking up the broken cups on the floor. I immediately stopped her and called for assistance. "It's okay. I think we should stop the meeting here. Let's discuss it again after the burial. I'm tired too." I sighed and collected my things from th
CHAPTER TWENTY Ethan's POV I looked in my binoculars. Falcon, my new partner, is already in the lobby of the hotel. He's waiting for my signal before he proceeds to the tenth floor of the building. "Do we have visuals, Wolf?" He whispered and drank his canned soda. "Negative. Just stay in there." I replied and focused on the hallway of the tenth floor. Our backup team was waiting for my signal too. Their van was just outside the hotel. Our mission is to capture the boss of the third largest drug cartel in the Philippines. We've got an intelligence report that he will be staying in that hotel after his flight from Mexico.
CHAPTER TWENTY ONE Ethan’s POV “We lost her car, Sir.” Simone, one of Jessica’s bodyguards said. I dropped the call and tried to call my girl but she was declining it. What is it this time, Jessica? “Shit. My body is sore already.” Jacob said and grabbed the bottle of water. "What's wrong?" He asked. "Jessica ran away from his guards again and she's not answering my calls. Shit!" I massaged my nape. "Call her best friend. They are always together." He suggested while removing his combat shoes. "I tried but her phone was off." I said and sat on the
CHAPTER TWENTY TWO Jessica’s POV Marcus van was bigger than mine. It was like a minibus type of van. I actually like it. "Your Mom invited me for dinner this weekend." He said while driving. He told me that his driver was sick so he didn't have a choice but to drive us to Batangas. It will be a three hour drive. I removed my eye mask because of what he said and pulled myself from his comfy air bed. What?! "I'm sorry, Marcus. You know my Mom. You declined her invitation, right?" I asked, hoping for him to say yes. I saw him looking at the rear view mi
CHAPTER TWENTY THREE Jessica’s POV We went straight to our family house. It was a thirty minute drive from our set location. "How was your project in Cebu?" I asked to break the silence between us. He removed his jacket and sat on the swing. I walked at his back and embraced my arms around his neck. "Everything went well. Jake had to stay to finish some minor changes in our plans. How about your taekwondo class? What's your schedule?" He asked and held on to my arm. I kissed his cheek. "I'll practice there two times a week. The place is more spacious than
CHAPTER TWENTY FOUR Jessica’s POV I suddenly woke up when I felt someone touch my face. I saw Marcus looking down at me. His eyes were red and tired. I hurriedly stood up but he held on both of my shoulders, making me fall back on the folding bed. "Marcus what are you doing?" I asked softly, not wanting to make a scene. "Why can't you like me? Is there someone else in your life that I don't know?" He asked in a hard tone. "Marcus, you're still drunk! Let's talk about it later, okay? Calm down and lower down your voice. Someone might hear you." I said a
CHAPTER TWENTY FIVE Jessica’s POV Ethan was holding my hand while we walked inside the mall. His other hand was busy holding his phone as he read something that made his eyebrows form into one line. "Ethan." I called him when he suddenly stopped walking. His eyes were still fixed on his phone. "I'm sorry, babe. It's really important." He said and let go of my hand. He answered a call while looking at me. I took a deep breath and walked inside a dress boutique. I was wearing a mask so the sales lady didn't recognize me.
