CHAPTER TWENTY-NINE

Mendez loitered outside the pack house, fidgeting as he waited for Douglas to return. He was needed urgently in one of Brighton's peripheral packs and would have flown out immediately if not for the unfinished business he had with Douglas.

It had been weeks since he promised him about Andrew and Nicole's union yet there was no preparation or date for the ceremony.

The old alpha approached him a few minutes later, looking troubled.

Mendez hesitated, concerned that the old was still enraged and battling with his wolf. He had no intention of being pummeled. Mendez considered dropping the question until he returned.

He cleared his throat slowly, gauging Douglas's reaction. The last thing he needed was an encounter with Douglas's wolf.

"Mendez?" The old alpha called, his brow raised and arms folded. "Something wrong?"

Mendez breathed out audibly, thanking the moon goddess that the old alpha wasn't in one of his terrible moods.
