**Williams POV**
The scent of cinnamon and honey strike me as soon as I stepped into the school hallway. It wasn't the nicest smell everyone would like but it sniffs nice to me." Do you smell anything nice?" I asked my beta and best friend Sunnyvale.
"Smell what?" He asked. I became suddenly happy he didn't sniff anything because I felt possessive of that scent and I didn't know why.
The smell became stronger as soon as I sauntered farther into the school hallway. I never agreed with Dad when he asked me to come to this school because he felt it would be glad I got used to the pack's culture. Studying abroad had been fun for me, I thought I would miss a lot and feel sad when I got here. It just didn't make sense to me but to my surprise, the scent keeps making me want her.
She is the most beautiful thing I had seen. Her cherry blonde hair shone like the sun and it fell in waves behind her back. She is tall, I guess that she stood at 5ft. She was dressed in the simplest clothes. She had her back turned to me but it felt much okay gazing at her hourglass physique.
She was with an old pack friend of mine called Damien who held her at her tiny waist. I got jealous because felt he was with what is mine but then I knew he wouldn't have her. I had known him while we were quite younger in the pack. He never finds any girl attractive and I believed he wouldn't find her attractive either too because she is."MINE".
Almost like she heard my thoughts. She moved away from Damien, then turn-around in my direction. I caught sight of her beautiful deep black eyes I had never seen. They look so shiny and adorable.
"Mate," My wolf said to me simply. We were locked in some sort of glaring game with me looking happy and she looking freaked out. I guess so because I couldn't figure out her expression.
I suppressed a growl when I noticed Damien's hand right hand was still curled up partially around her waist. I get a tab on my hands and I turned to see Sunnyvale, giving me a confusing look.
"Mate!" I simply nodded my head in her direction. Sunnyvale's eyes widened in shock. "Dude like seriously, you are being happy with this school after the fierce argument you had with your Dad? You said you will not have anything to do with anyone here, so why are you losing concentration so quick, we are nearly a week here. Don't tell me that crab you have found your mate" He said in a low tone that I alone was able to hear him.
I smirked at the envious tone in his voice, "I am gonna go talk to her". I said but I was halted by Sunnyday, " What?" I asked frustrated.
"Are you going to do that, can't you see she has a boyfriend or perhaps a mate already?" He asked.
"I am quite sure the moon goddess made her for me" I replied with a flashing beam.
"Well, you can just walk up to her and say, Hey I am Williams, we are mates. I mean she is not a wolf, if not she would have known too. As we both know mates scent each other at first."
I growled knowing he was right, "I don't think she is fully human though. She sure has some wolf in her. Being this close to her had her scent spraying towards me and I could say she does has some wolf thing"
"But then if you are going to go for her, I want you to know you got opposition. The guy who had been curling up around her wouldnt let it be easy for you" he warned.
I felt like yelling at Sunnyvale. He shouldn't be making me see the impossibility of getting to my mate. He should know me better by now, I go for what is mine. I am that brave.
I tap at him as an idea flashed through my mind, "I and Damian had been pack friends while we were quite younger. His Dad is an elder of the Alpha's council. He would come along with him and we played all day till their meeting was over."
"Then you can invite him for your party tonight at the club, ask him to come along with her. I will fix up a dance with the celebrant contest. You and she will get a chance to dance alone at the night and you can tell her how you feel about her. I will get some warriors on standby in case Damien try to get nasty with you"
Sunnyvale and I were about to approach Damien when he tilted his neck and left a slow peck on her cheek. I saw my mate's eyes light up at the moment. She seems excited. He pulled her once more in a big hug and wrapped his arm around her waist. She sure looks so happy.
I was fretting. My wolf was fuming. I wanted to rip off his arm this time, " How dare he?" My wolf asked, "did he not know she is ours?" The realistic part of me knew that there is no way he would know. He was only human but I was way past being rational at this point.
Sunnyvale grabbed my arm and I let him drag me outside because I knew if he didn't I bet things would have gotten ugly. He dragged me to an isolated part of the school.
I took several deep breaths just to calm myself down.
"Just breathe, Williams. Calm down! Sunnyvale said. I closed my eyes and opened them to find Sunnyvale giving me a severe worried look.I rolled my eyes, Dude I am fine. You can stop looking at me like that". " Are you sure you are okay?" he asked. " I said, I am fine!" I growled in response causing him to give a low bow.
I sighed, I hate going on all Alpha wolf on Sunnyvale. Even though he is my beta, he is still my best friend. And I hate making him seem to be belittled.
"Look, man, I am sorry, I didn't mean to act that way to you." I apologized. He shooked his head, "It is fine, I get it"
"You don't have to be paranoid now. I have a plan already. Just go ahead and invited them to your birthday party. I will fix the rest as said early." He said and hearing him talk about this for the second time made me convinced he had a plan for me to meet my mate and tell her how I feel about her.
I quickly left him, disguised my fury, and went to say some greeting to them before inviting them to my official birthday party tonight. I gave Damian the special invite card for the VIP and when he asked if he could come along with her. I said yes and handed him another VIP card.
As I left her sight. I didn't know what was happening to me. The feeling was both sweet and sour. Perhaps I can't just wait to have her in my arms.
Valerie sat on the sofa, hugging her knees. It was the next evening- Monday evening.“A girl child is not supposed to sit that way.” She heard her mom’s voice from the kitchen. She sighed and sat cross-legged.She appealed to her parents to eschew their questions regarding Jonathan. She lied that they were in a fight. Though the latter was true, she lied about the intensity. “I am angry with him. I will talk to him once my anger subsides.” She gave a wry reply, subduing every small instinct to break into bitter tears. Her head was woolly from the recent happenings of her life. She did not accompany her Dad to their office. She hesitated to even take a bath and moved around in the same dress she wore the previous evening. Every single threa
Ruth saw the despaired Valerie in front of her. They decided to meet for lunch. Valerie delayed and they were there at 2.30 P.M.The waiters were removing the heat chafing dishes off the buffet burner, as the lunch buffet ended.A glass board shimmered in bright lights, highlighting the day’s special menu.Under the date, which was written as 5th of March, there were a series of the day’s special menu.Devil potato, dragon baby corn, and honey chili cauliflower topped the list.Ruth saw Valerie doodling in the menu card with her fingertip, with her thoughts struck somewhere.“Just make it two fried rice.” Ruth saw the waiter leave. “One devil potato too.“ Rut
Valerie adjusted the peach-colored stud she wore, which complemented her salwar color. Jonathan took her to her favorite fashion outlet and gifted her that beautiful dress for her previous birthday. She felt, it was the best idea to wear one of his gifts, as she was meeting him after a trifling misunderstanding. She shot a final glance in the rearview mirror before she got down. She walked straight into the showroom. The blank cheque her dad had given her was safe inside her handbag.“Anything between 40-60L will do.” Her dad told her in the morning.“What Color?” She had asked.“That is your choice.” Her dad shrugged his shoulders. “This is just to convert liquid cash into an asset. Anything of
"Anything and everything looks so beautiful on you because you are just so beautiful.’ She remembered his words when she wore the same green silk saree for the first time for a family function.“Valarie.” She heard her mom’s voice outside. She smiled to herself.Jonathan's family was coming home today. ‘Everything has to be at its best.’ She thought and took meticulous care.“Valarie.” Her mom’s voice was louder.“Valarie are you ready? We just have less than half an hour.” Anu spoke as she peeped inside her daughter’s room.“Almost there mom.” Valarie looked at her reflection in the mirror again. Her green saree was intact as she draped it tightly with
“Cheese?” Jonathan asked as he was looking at his mobile.“Jonathan, for the third time, I want caramel popcorn.” Valerie looked at him puzzled as he was still meddling with this mobile.“Sure, you don’t want cheese on it?” Jonathan still looked at his mobile. There was a sudden silence. When he looked up he saw Valerie glaring at him.“I asked to do whether you want cheese flavor.”“For the fourth time, I want caramel popcorn.” Valerie shook her head. They were there for a movie on a relaxed Sunday evening. The whole theatre broke into hysterical laughter when the stand-up comedian appe
That meant she was upset and he knew it.“I was just trying to understand.” He shrugged his shoulders as he bought the vehicle to a halt. He looked around. It was almost 1.30 A.M. There were none in the avenue that led to her house. She stayed in Bishop M. Avenue, one of the poshest areas of the city.“Hey, Listen, I am sorry.”“That is ok. You will not know how difficult it is for me when you try to bring up the financial status as one of the topics. Your dad owns a 2 crore property in Chennai, right? So economically speaking, you are not poor. Please don’t make me feel insecure by judging me based on the number of maids I have or the nail polish I use. “She looked at him, as she replied in a low tone.“I am sorry.” He held her chin. He tried to con
“Are you sure there is one at the end of this street?” He raised his voice, just to make himself audible.“Yes, Carlos. I saw a two-wheeler repair shop there.” Valerie assured.Carlos changed from his formals to a t-shirt and tracks. “Hell with this Scooter.” He gritted his teeth. His scooter, which he had owned for the past one year, which even survived an accident a few days ago, was now starting to trouble him more. Yet another time, it failed to start even after filled-up up the Petrol tank, several kicks, and a couple of tilts.“Calm down.” She advised.“Don’t you see? I was almost ready. I had to change to my casuals again to get this stupid vehicle repaired.
It was her mind playing a fast one on her because there was nobody in the sitting room, she tiptoed to go to her room to pretend she had been in her room because she knew there was someone at home, so she bent down to pick her shoes so that her footstep won't be heard but then the witch Aunt Ava as fondly called by her was right in front of her stretching herself, Valerie knew she was in deep shit. Luna Vanessa didn't get any better with the turn out of events, she felt the whole thing would be a thing to laugh at, but then "who was that beautiful girl I slapped" she thought. "Where have you been, I have searched everywhere for you, the whole compound is full of dirt, the ground is not mopped and the dogs are hungry " shouted Ava who derived pleasure in seeing Valerie in pains and suffering, she knew everything was in order, and that the whole compound had been swept, but she wouldn't blink an eye if
"Valerie, Valerie, Valerie" Damien called from behind, Valerie waited for him to get close to her"I'm sorry Val" for that is what he calls her when he is remorseful, she Smiled and hugged him and they continued their journey home, just then She remembered Ava and her parents, for some time, she completely forgot about them, she didn't tell anyone she was going to a party because her parents had traveled and Aunt Ava was supposed to be out of town, I hope she is still out she thought, so she hurriedly walked home with Damien, she was happy he came and apologized to her, she was happy that someone saw something good in here still have my friend back she said to him, they spoke about the disaster, the party, her awkward dressing, and Sky until they parted ways to their various houses, Io Valerie, it was an interesting journey home because of the relief she got from Damien, but it was a day she would never forget even in a hurry.
