Chapter 5

Nicolas POV

Looking in the mirror I guess I looked good enough to attend an emergency meeting with my father.

The news came unannounced, it was a big thing for me as the only direct heir of the Royal pack to attend.

I pushed my black hair away from my face. I know if my mom was alive she'd tell me I need to get it cut, I feel a moment of sadness wash over me, thinking of my mom. Our pack, unlike many other wolf packs, lives among humans. We have our pack house in a very remote location for meetings and celebration, but we live in a regular high class neighborhood near Seoul. Three years ago when I was out with my father on a business trip, someone broke into our house and killed my mother. They never caught the person so I don't know if it was a human or a shifter, but that hasn't stopped me from trying to find them.

I'm wearing my favorite black jeans and T-shirt. I have always loved the color black maybe because it always hid the stains from my mother when I got into a fight or played. I just finished putting my shoes on when my friend Elliot comes into my bedroom without knocking. Though we're the same age, he's a couple inches shorter than me, but he has the same light tan and golden eyes as most of our packs do.

"Are you ready?" He asked while flopping onto my bed, which annoyed me as the side was ruffled up thanks to him.

"Yeah. Let's get this over with" I said as I headed towards the door and downstairs. My house is huge and empty except for the few maids that come around to clean every once in a while. It got even worse after my mom passed, especially with my father's lustful nature.

Due to the long distance between the two leading packs, we had to use a route that goes through a very deep forest, shape shifting was unavoidable as it was the fastest way to reach in just an hour.

I personally disliked shape shifting, as there are repercussions on my part. I was unfortunately born with cancer, this was a secret within my family thanks to our werewolves traits which are superior to that of humans. I'm able to live at most to my early sixties if things go well, which to humans it's a complete life. A kidney transplant can save me, but it's not easy to find a person with the same kidney as that of a werewolf.

And no werewolf would be foolish even to sell one of their kidneys for any reason as they might die immediately so for the time being my situation is helpless.

Thanks to our strong sense of smell we quickly found ourselves out of the forest in an hour as we headed to the Levites mansion, which was located in an even more remote area, far away from humans.

Along the way my fathers beta didn't fail to fill me in on what was happening and why we were going to their mansion. In the first place I was quite surprised to find out the reason. It seemed suspicious because Clearly it was a threat To not only the Levites But to all the packs together.

Suddenly while we spoke, my father chimed in

"The Levites have a three years old princess, I need you to get as much information as you can from her, the more the better"

I really wanted to roll my eyes at him, he never spoke to me except to give me orders that would benefit himself but I have to admit he always did what was always best for the pack.

I nodded my head not daring to look into his eyes, his beta patted my back to reassure me.

Soon, we met Alpha Dante, the Alpha of the Moon pack, he was a huge brown skin man together with his wife and son Morgan. I have met Morgan a few times in the past, though we can't be called friends, we were acquaintances.

He came up to me and gave a small bow, I helped him up as we continued our journey. Everyone knew that the Royal and the Levites were the two leading packs followed by the rest, so even in the midst of celebration we are always shown respect.

We walked for about twelve minutes when came across the light pack, this pack is mostly avoided by other packs as the are very creepy in nature, the each have weird special abilities and hence were rejected by the Royals and banned as dangerous they became outcast and were hunted down for fun and almost extinct then Luckily for them the Levites Alpha took them into their territory giving them protection. But somewhere still hunted down by the Royals faction.

Seeing them, my father let out a threatening growl. They didn't even flinch because they were well aware that he wouldn't cause them any harm as they were not in our territory, but I was really pissed especially at their next Alpha Mirage his smirk made me very furious.

"Long time"

He grabbed my arms, almost crushing it with his grip, when my father chimed in, looking at me with disappointment.

Already in the Levites territory, we soon reached their mansion, it was like a huge castle covering up to ten cubic feet. Which was only two cubic short of ours, but the design and style was a masterpiece, it was simply fascinating.

Guards came out surrounding us as we were led into the mansion. Along the magnificent hallway where beautiful paintings of the goddess Selena and the first Alpha of the Levites together with the Royals were hung.

It is my first time to begin the Levites Pack, I had rumors about their Alpha but never saw him in person. Soon enough, the Alpha of the Levites came up to greet my father.

He shook hands with my father, something I had never seen before as everyone bowed in respect, a great man to his pack, a well known figure no one dared to mess with The Alpha of the Levites Pack Jason Nobel.

I looked at him with admiration, someone who don't have to bow to my father, His Luna then came along, I had to admit she was a very beautiful woman with clean pale skin and light green eyes, I simply couldn't wait to see their daughter, she must be the most beautiful girl in the entire pack, I came to that conclusion after seeing her parents, I immediately began missing my mom as She look at me with the same warm smile I always receive from my mom.

"You can go join the kids in the conference room first"

His voice was powerful yet gentle at the same time, it was merely encouraging, no wonder he was a respected warrior.

A maid came before me and indicated for me to follow her to which I did, not before my father gave me a stern look reminding me of my goal.

Suddenly a little girl with Ponytails bumped into me, immediately her maid began apologizing as the little girl ran off, they only word I could describe her was

"Annoying"

After they disappeared at the corner, I accidentally tripped over, almost falling but stabilizing myself. It's then I realized. Her doll was at my feet, I picked it up and called out to them, but they seemed to have gotten far.

As we kept waking, I had a little girl laughing, it was to no surprise as she had to be in the mansion, one of the daughters of the Alpha's or perhaps...The Levites princess. She did have green eyes like their Luna.

Upon realizing, I immediately ran after her to return her doll. She was at a distance, but I quickly caught up with her when she entered a room, which I followed.

The room was big and spacious, Children of different Alpha's were seated from one end to the other, including Mirage. I still wonder how his name came about.

The moment I entered the room, I was again greeted with his irritating smirk, I never had a fight with him, but I just felt hatred towards him, well it is a mutual dislike. Beside him was a little girl who sat at the head of the table, our eyes met but she quickly looked away which puzzled me.

The long, polished table gleamed with documents and tablets stacked neatly, surrounded by men and women in tailored suits-his board of advisors, financial officers, and war strategists.Mirage sat at the head, immaculately dressed in charcoal, his expression cold and unreadable as his advisors droned on about quarterly reports, trade routes, and new alliances. To anyone else, he looked the same as always-detached yet in absolute control, every inch the Alpha of Alphas. But inside, he was elsewhere. Not a word of the balance sheets or proposed contracts sank in. Chapter 176 Viona's POV The night air over the Levites pack was rich with pine, smoke, and laughter. The celebration was in full swing: lanterns swayed in the trees, their golden glow mingling with the silver of the moon. Music carried across the open courtyard of the pack house, drums pulsing like a heartbeat while wolves and humans alike danced in a circle around the towering birthday cake that glittered with sparklers. At the center of it all was Ariel, his grin wide as he hoisted Lyra onto his shoulders. My daughter clapped her tiny hands, her giggles rising above the crowd like bells. She leaned forward, pointing eagerly at the glowing cake, while Ariel twirled her around with exaggerated steps. Aria laughed beside them, clapping along with the music, her gown swishing in rhythm. My parents' mate stood nearby, their faces alight with pride as they watched both their son and granddaughter bask in the joy of the evening. It w

Chapter 175 Viona's POV The days that followed the reveal of Lyra's existence were filled with a strange, tender warmth I hadn't felt in years. My parents visited often now, slipping into the estate with the same reverence one might reserve for sacred ground. My mother could barely keep her hands off her granddaughter, weaving ribbons into Lyra's hair, teaching her old songs from our homeland. My father, for all his Alpha sternness, melted into something softer around the child. He would sit on the porch with Lyra tucked against his chest, telling her stories of the stars and the pack's ancestors, his voice rumbling like distant thunder. Ariel was perhaps the most relentless of all. From the moment he met her, Lyra had become his shadow. He showed up with small gifts -wooden toys, shiny pebbles, even a tiny dagger (which I quickly confiscated). He sparred playfully with her in the gardens, lifting her high in the air until

Employees bustled about, whispering excitedly, for it was not every day that my family arrived at the company. I had received the message late the night before-my family was coming. Not just my mother or father, but all of them. I hadn't seen them together in years, not since I'd left the werewolf territories behind to forge my empire. A mix of anticipation and unease coiled inside me as I rode the elevator down to greet them. The doors slid open, and there they were. My father, Jason, stood tall despite the graying of his hair, his Alpha presence still carrying weight even outside the pack's borders. My mother's eyes softened when they met mine, warmth spilling into every line of her face. And beside them, my younger brother Ariel-no longer t

Chapter 173 Viona's POV The invitation arrived in a black envelope, its edges gilded in silver. It was discreetly slipped onto my desk, though I had known to expect it. The Annual Global Media Awards-the most prestigious ceremony in the industry-where every CEO, journalist, and broadcaster of renown gathered to celebrate the year's achievements. My assistant, Mara, lingered by the door, her expression unreadable as I slid a manicured finger beneath the seal and unfolded the heavy parchment. "They'll expect you to attend," Mara said. My lips curved faintly, though the smile didn't quite touch my eyes. "Yes. They always do." This year, however, the event carried a different weight. Not because I was nominated again-though I was, for several categories-but because I had made a decision. It would be my last. --- For six years, I had lived beneath th

Chapter 172 Viona's POV Fame had a strange way of wrapping itself around my life. It came not with the quiet reverence of my pack days but with flashing lights, whispering mouths, and headlines that painted me in colors both flattering and false. By now, six years into my reign as CEO of Moonlight Media, my name carried weight across continents. Humans saw me as the formidable woman who had bridged gaps no one else dared touch. Witches praised my ability to grant them a neutral platform. Even werewolves, who once whispered my name in anger, spoke of me now with reluctant awe. Everyone knew me. But no one truly knew me. My image was carefully crafted: a woman of elegance and precision, untouchable in success, commanding in every word I spoke on public stages. The interviews I granted were rare, my answers polished and sharp. The photos that appeared in glossy magazines showed me in designer gown
