Nox POV

Luna Keira Gray. Wife and mate of Alpha Liam Rudd. A twenty-three year old woman who was unavailable. Married! From the panties hanging on her finger and the look on her face, it was clear that she was having a busy life, indeed.

Moments ago, when I walked in and our eyes met, my wolf growled,

'Mate,' calling out to her.

But she'd looked away. I tried to do the same now, looking everywhere else but at her. I failed.

She'd acted like she was deaf to her mate's call. Or did she not hear? No, that couldn't be right. She was pretending. Which was Understandable because this was bizarre. How could we be fated?

All of her attention was now on the blond werewolf who was her husband and Alpha.

A dignitary from the Summer Moon stood in front of me, talking. I tried my hardest to pay attention and offer the appropriate response. Two could play this game, though not for long. Because my focus wavered again, returning to Luna Keira.

Her expression was picture of revulsion now as her husband snatched the panties from her fingers. He gave her a flirty smile, making me desperately curious about what his excuse would be.

As a lycan, my senses were far superior to everyone else's here, so I trained my ears in their direction, unable to stop myself.

"We have to be careful, love." Alpha Liam told her. "I hope no one saw that."

"What do you mean you hope no one saw?" Keira replied with a shaky voice. "I saw it?" She sounded unsure of herself.

The whole conversation was too confusing, yet I refused to tune them out.

"Would you?" Deborah from the Summer Moon asked me.

I had no idea what she just said apart from that last bit, but I nodded, replying,

"I'll... think about it."

"I guess that's a good response. I'll tell my brother."

"Could you excuse me for a bit," I said and began moving towards the counter lined with drinks. I stole another look at my woman of interest.

Her husband's gaze roamed about to make sure no one was looking at them. He nearly caught me but I averted my eyes swiftly.

The two continued their quiet arguement.

"I swear, Keira, I don't know how that ended up in my pocket," he said to her. "I'll ask Vanessa or the other laundry guys. But what the hell does it matter? It's yours, isn't it?"

"I have never worn a gstring in my life, Liam. I don't own one!"

"Let's focus on our party," he remarked curtly, then leaned over to kiss her. She turned away.

My stomach rolled in a way that it had never done before. It felt like I was about to be sick. This could not be happening to me.

I should not have come here. They weren't even expecting me and didn't want me here because they feared me.

Apart from the wars and all the packs I'd conquered, I was a lycan by virtue of my mother's superior genes. Our kinds were considered, evil and cursed. We were hated and feared for our unimaginable strength, senses and lifespan

We could not procreate. Except with a fated mate. Which was a rare and precious thing to find. We were freaks to these ordinary werewolves.

It didn't matter that these ones considered me hybrid - half lycan, half werewolf. They were all still wary of me.

This discrimination and hatred was why I ruled with an iron fist. I'd conquered lands, swallowed up smaller packs, and was proud to have earned the respect of members of my pack. Everyone in all parts of the region and the world knew not to mess with the Autumn Moon.

But here I was, at a wedding anniversary that I decided to attend at the last minute, feeling like I would puke in front of all these people. My first instinct was right. I should not have come. Boredom was to blame. That plus my Beta's advised that I make an effort to be cordial with these people.

What did I do now?

I looked around, noting all of the young and beautiful women in the hall. I should have been bound to one of these instead of a mated female with marital problems. The worst part was the fact that she was pretending not to feel our bond.

My blood warmed at this thought. How dare her ignore me? Not even a simple look of acknowledgement. Whether she hated my kind or not, she didn't have to be discourteous.

Her husband was now leading her to the center of the hall for what should be their second dance. I could sense her anger and hurt, but she was keeping her cool really well. Appearances, huh? She could acknowledge me while remaining poise, too, but she wouldn't, huh?

I began to wonder about the full story behind the g-string but quickly decided that was none my business!

Clearly, Keira Gray lacked good sense of judgement. Her choice of mate was the proof.

"A stunning couple, aren't they?" Felix Gray interrupted my raging thoughts.

"Most arranged marriages look like that on the outside," I replied.

How long had he been standing beside me? Not important. Pouring the drink down my throat, I made a decision to end this infuriating game as I said,

"Excuse me while I go steal a dance with the Luna."

I had to confront her immediately. We must deal with this problem quickly.

Others moved aside, making way as I approached the couples on the dance floor.

"Alpha Nox," her husband said with a forced smile.

My wolf gave a vicious snarl inside me, its claws nearly forcing themselves out. I took a deep calming breath to gain control.

"Can I borrow her for a bit?" I said simply. "One dance."

"Oh, sure," he replied, holding out her hand to me.

Keira looked horrified. Clearly, she didn't want me near because of how she felt about me. I understood this. Hell, I felt her distress, but this couldn't be helped.

Her eyes wavered, and she looked like she was being betrayed when her husband placed her hand in mine. She wouldn't refuse. That would be bad manners for a Luna to refuse her guest.

Well-bred. Well-behaved. Cared a lot about what her people thought.

My arm went around her waist, causing my wolf to calm instantly. She stiffened, then began to relax as I led the dance.

"You and I haven't really been introduced," she said. All confident, casual, and Luna-like.

"I'm Alpha Nox of the Autumn Moon," I replied simply. "You know me. And I know you. Now, how long before we stop pretending that there's nothing between us?"

What could there possibly be between us?" I looked around, afraid that someone might have heard. I considered forcing him to stop the dance. Thankfully, nobody had their eyes on us. He could refuse and it was better not to attract attention, so I moved with him. "I would think you're too sophisticated for games, Luna." "What games? I have no idea what you're talking about," I replied calmly. He looked down at me and arched a brow. "Hold on, you think there's something betweeb us because I looked at you? Everyone looked at you when you walked in, Alpha Nox. Does that mean you have something going on with them?" He frowned as though confused, then said in a low voice. "I'm talking about you and me." He was almost inaudible. "I'm talking about what you felt when you laid eyes on me for the first time." I tried to stop

Keira POVThe world stopped when his lips touched mine. I was no longer Keira Gray of the Spring Moon. Neither was I wife and mate to Alpha Liam. I was no one but a woman ready to be claimed by a powerful lycan beast. Not even his taunts could bring me back to my senses as his fangs caressed my lips. My body was at his command. Before I knew it, I was sandwiched between him and the wall as his tongue tangled with mine. Then he began to slow down, his lips freeing mine. Only then did my senses slowly return. What the hell was I doing? Letting another Alpha kiss me in my own home? At my wedding anniversary. I was appalled with myself as I pushed him off of me. His brow creased, and his eyes narrowed as he murmured thoughtfully,"Something's wrong with your wolf.""Get out," I barked breathlessly. "This is an assault. You would love a war, won't you? Get out!"The fact that he just spoke my secret out loud was not as threatening as what he just made me do. Apart from pack elders and L

When I didn't acknowledge his complain, he grabbed my arm making me stop. His eyes were bright with annoyance, which surprised me a little bit. The fact that he had just cursed didn't escape my notice. In all the times I'd known him as my partner, he'd never used the F word in front of me. "Yes, Liam," I said. "I reek of another wolf. What did you expect? " He frowned, confusion creasing his smooth face. Yesterday, I may have cared how he felt right now. But things were different today. He was to blame. "I begged you to put work aside for this one morning..." "That doesn't explain the scent all over you, Keira!" I wanted to bark that it does but simply shook my head in exasperation. If he hadn't disappeared, that kiss would not have happened. It was his fault. "Where the hell did you go?" I asked. "I was looki

I didn't say anything further because I feared that Uncle Felix would sense something and figure out that we kissed. "Now I think you should take a quick shower before Elder Paula or Zoey comes near you. You don't want the latter spreading false rumors or the elder making a case out of nothing." • My Luna with the Sleeping Wolf   The business visit

Nox POVThe Pine was Keira Gray's wine company, which she inherited from her father. They were the only wine producers and suppliers in all of the Eastside. Not only do they cater to the needs of all the packs in the region, they also worked and traded with the humans in the surrounding towns. The three story building of the Pine sat by the edge of a hill with a large vineyard and factory behind it. I strolled towards the sliding glass doors, assessing the place with my senses to determine what was going on inside. It was a Monday, so too many people were coming and going. Humans and werewolves were all over the place. Keira may or may not be in there. From Theo's report, she minded the pack while the husband handled the company.Images of last time's kiss filled my mind. Eleven days had gone by since then. It felt like the kiss happened only yesterday even though my wolf was fussing like we hadn't seen her in a year. I still could wrap my head around the facts. Was she pretending n

Yet I couldn't stop him. I had never been kissed like this before. His hand moved over my bare flesh, making me lose all of my will to resist. His lips began to trail my neck downwards. When he cupped my breast and kneaded it with his thumb, I jerked awake. It was Liam who laid close to me. He licked his lips while watching me with darkened eyes. Then he moved closer to my side of the bed. "Babe," he whispered. "You were dreaming about me, weren't you?" I began to sit up, feeling so ashamed. Did I moan in my sleep? Goddess, I hoped not. Images of our entire one year of marriage began to replay before me. Beginning from the most recent incident on our wedding anniversary. The working late. The sneaking in at midnight and rushing straight to the bathroom for a shower. The texting and whispered phone calls. He'd been having an affair? With Belle Faust? I walked mindlessly, not sure where I was headed. Terry, his assistant, appeared. "Luna, good morning," he greeted. I didn't have the sense of mind to respond. Then I heard the office door open and soon felt Liam behind me. I glanced around and was amazed at how neat and straightlaced he appeared. His shirt and tie were set neatly now. L

The fact that I ran into them meant that they hadn't captured the prisoner still. The only status report that mattered to me now was to hear that Liam had been caught and detained. We continued the hunt quietly till we entered Winter Moon's lands. The pack's Alpha had his territorial marks all over the place. Ignoring it, I began scouring the entire place for any sign of Liam or that elder. According to Pavlov, the old male had not returned to his restaurant yet. Surely, he and Liam were together. My claws itched for the latter. As I went further into Winter Moon's territory, some warrior guards accosted me and attempted to keep me from going any further."Alpha Nox, we don't want any trouble," pleaded their leader. She seemed too weak to move."Aria," I dropped to my knees before her.She began to relax. There was blood all around her. From the scent, some of it was hers. My heart was in my throat. I was shaking from fear and rage, and unsure what to do.She looked toward the woods, and I glanced Pavlov's way, who immediately shifted and took off in that direction. I ripped my shirt as she began to shift back into her human form. It strained her to do it. She gave up trying and sighed, shutting her eyes. I let out my wolf, then lifted and carried her into the woods to race back to her pack.I could feel her healing from whatever wounds were inflicted on her. But she exerted herself in the process. Nox POVMy heart dropped at the news of Liam's escape. My fist tightened on the cellphone. Ramos' breathing was heavy on the other end of the phone. I knew he was anxious about my reaction and enraged by his mistake."He's coming my way, you said. Which way? The Autumn Moon?" "No. Spring!" He replied. My mind immediately went to Keira. She was out in town. Outside the pack, though not too far. I recalled the look on Liam's face when I told him that Aria was awake. A she-wolf whom he would never have the pleasure of knowing even though they were once mated. If he was on his way here, rather than to take revenge on me, which would be foolish and suicidal, he was definitely coming to get Keira. "I don't understand, Ramos," I said. "How's it possible that he escaped? He had two werewolves guarding him." Not to mention that one of them was Ramos Vargas, a warrior of the North. "I am ashamed, Prince Nox," he replied. "We were distracted by those damned rogues. I let my guard down. B

  • My Luna with the Sleeping Wolf   The ex and the wolf

Keira POVI stood a few feet inside the large office, staring at Liam Rudd, my ex-husband. The sound of the door latching behind me was a distant, irrelevant sound at that point. Even the Winter Moon's elder's voice was insignificant. My mind raced with various explanations for Liam's presence."How are you here?" I asked him.The smirk faded from his face and was replaced by a look that made me recall the days before the full moon, when he'd assaulted and tried to force himself on me. I remembered how I'd locked myself up in a guest chamber to avoid him until the full moon. The look on his face now was exactly the same as that time. I grew anxious and quickly looked behind me, only to find the elder standing with his back to the locked door. As if were standing guard."It is so good to see you again, my wife," Liam said. "My Luna. And I'm glad you're happy to see me too."I heard the door give another click sound behind me and turned. The elder was smiling at Liam's sarcastic remark

I'd let everyone know that I was watching and following her, hoping to earn a reaction. But she had not even spared me more than a few seconds' glance. The time flew by too fast, and Theo came to find me, reminding me of the pressing matters that demanded my immediate attention. At the same time, my phone rang. Today was the first time he came in here since the day he handed the wine company back to me.My morning had been going on smoothly when I sensed him. I'd almost forgotten that my arrest could come at any time. Blame that on the fact that no one stopped me from leaving the building this morning. Not only that, Liam had been taken far away to be punished. All thoughts of my troubles at home were far from my mind. After Nox's cruel words to me, spying on me was the last thing I expected from him. So when I first spotted him, I thought he'd come to kick me out of here. Maybe he would order the warriors around to drag me back to my chamber. Or the prison he'd prepared.I'd spent every single minute of the early hours with the nagging thought that I could be escorted out of here any moment. My father resumed talking, making me recall that I had the phone to my ear. I didn't hear the last thing he said."Nox!" He snapped."I'm right here, your majesty," I returned."Good. He is MY prisoner!
