Chapter 49

At ten o'clock at night, the whole base fell into silence and cold; only the steady footsteps of soldiers echoed in the dark night. Everything was calm outside, but everyone, even me, was tense and extremely heavy inside.

I've noticed two soldiers patrolling the corridor in front of my room every ten minutes. Perhaps those two were assigned to patrol the first and second floors, so they kept repeating their patrol route.
