Dante’s POV

When I woke up, the first thing I noticed was the pain in my chest—not from the burn or the smoke, but from the empty void left behind.

The second thing I noticed was the sterile scent of disinfectant.

My eyes fluttered open. I was in the pack hospital.

My head rolled to the side, and I saw Cyrus sitting in a chair nearby.

His arms were crossed over his chest, and his eyes were closed, but the tension in his face told me he wasn’t asleep.

The moment I shifted, his eyes snapped open.

“You’re awake,” he said.

I stared at him blankly, my mind still fogged from whatever drugs they had pumped into my system.

“How long…”

“A day,” he responded.

I sat up too quickly and winced in pain.

“Amaya.” Her name escaped my lips like a breathless prayer, and Cyrus’s gaze darkened.

“She’s gone, Dante,” he said quietly, and my fist clenched. “Her remains were found in the wreckage. I’m sorry.”

“I want to see her,” I said, forcing my feet to touch the cold floor.

Cyrus’s eyes widened slightly.

Dante’s POV “Stop the damn car!” I roared. Cyrus cursed under his breath and slammed his foot on the brake. The tires screeched, and before the car even fully stopped, I had the door open and was stepping out. As I stalked toward the gathering, I overheard conversations. “Well, at least now the Alpha can finally find a real Luna.” I felt a stab in my chest. “She was never fit to be Luna anyway. Honestly, it’s better this way.” A male laughed. “He dodged a bullet if you ask me.” My fists clenched at my sides. As soon as they started to notice my presence, their conversations died down—but it was already too late. Rage had blinded my vision, and Mako was growling, begging to be released. When the man with the torch saw me, his eyes widened. “Put it down,” I growled, still trying to remain calm. The man lowered the torch, hesitating for a moment, but then he smirked and tossed it toward the picture. The flames caught instantly. Something in me snapped, and in an instant, I gr

Dante’s POV “It’s me.” I shook my head. My vision was still too foggy to make sense of what was happening. But it sounded like her. And the way she moved—when she touched my cheek—it felt like her. Her finger brushed my jawline. “You came back,” I whispered, lifting my hand to cover hers. She bummed in response, lowering herself onto my lap. Her scent wrapped around me, so intoxicating that I instinctively slid my hands to her waist. “I miss you,” I murmured, pressing my forehead against her shoulder. “I miss you too,” she whispered back, and I could feel her hot breath against my ear. My hand tightened on her waist, and she leaned closer, brushing her lips against the side of my neck while her fingers ran through my hair. “Amaya…” I groaned, pulling her closer, burying my face into her skin. She trailed her lips teasingly down my neck, sliding her nails under my shirt. Just when she started to lift it… “Yes,” she responded, but my body stiffened. The voice was different t

Dante POVDays passed, and there was still no news on her whereabouts.Everyone who saw her last swore they saw her at the mental hospital before the fire.I was growing impatient with every passing day, knowing Amaya’s murderer was somewhere out there, breathing the same air as me.Cyrus was always quick to remind me that the missing nurse was just a suspect — after all, we couldn’t recognize the person’s face in the footage, and it was too grainy to make a clear identification. But I didn’t care.Someone set that fire. Someone walked out of that room while my mate burned to death. And someone was going to pay for it.I was in my office, trying to distract myself by rewatching the CCTV footage over and over again. Each time the image of the nurse flashed on the screen, I would curse under my breath.Cyrus was also present, but he sat in the far corner of my office, quietly observing me. He had been doing that a lot lately. I wouldn’t blame him — I was slowly going mad.My fist clench

Dante’s POV Cyrus took a moment to process my words, his expression shifting from confusion to shock as he blurted, “What?” He stared at the laptop screen, zooming in on the picture. “Are you sure? This… this can’t be right.” He was in denial, just like I was. From the little interaction we both witnessed earlier today, it was clear to both of us that Kara was hiding something — but a part of me refused to believe she would have anything to do with this. She had been a part of my life for years. Even when Amaya came into the picture, Kara never crossed the line — not until that night. She had always been composed, always careful with her words and actions. That’s why this didn’t make sense. “I don’t know,” I growled. “But what else makes sense? That tattoo is identical to Kara’s. And you saw her reaction when I mentioned the footage.” My jaw clenched while Cyrus still looked to be in disbelief. “I should have known,” he muttered. “That night the healer went missing after Amaya wa

Dante POVHer faint figure was bathed in the moonlight, her long hair cascading down her shoulders. She wore a thin white dress that fluttered softly in the night breeze.Hearing my voice, her head turned slowly, and when her eyes met mine, my heart clenched.I stumbled on my feet as I walked toward her, but then her gaze dropped to the railing.No.She lifted one foot off the edge of the balcony and slowly began to lean forward.“No!” I shouted, lunging forward.I desperately reached out to grab her hand, but when I touched it, it was cold — so cold it made my skin burn.“I… I’m sorry…” she whispered.“No,” I growled, tightening my grip. “Don’t… don’t do this. Please!”But she smiled — that soft, sad smile — and she let go of the railing.“AMAYA!”I grabbed her wrist, my muscles screaming in protest as I pulled her back, but her hand started to slip through my grasp like smoke.“No, no, no!” I screamed. “You’re not leaving me again! I won’t lose you again!”I pulled harder — harder —

  • My Mate, Please Let Me Go   Chapter 57

Amaya’s POV I died. After multiple attempts, I was sent off to a mental hospital. Dante had hoped it would make me better, but it only made me worse. The nurses tortured me, claiming it was for my own good — the needles, the restraints, the cold baths in the middle of the night. I remember screaming, crying, and begging, but no one listened. There was this nurse in particular who was hell-bent on breaking me, and whenever Dante was scheduled to visit, she made sure I was in no condition to see him. She would slip into my room hours before his arrival. “You’re not ready to see him,” she would whisper. “You need to calm down first.” That’s when the injection would come in. My body would grow heavy, my vision would blur until I couldn’t tell whether I was awake or dreaming. That night, as usual, she came into my room. This time, I tried to fight her off, but she was stronger and easily pinned me down. “Stop struggling,” she hissed. Even when I begged, she only smiled and presse

  • My Mate, Please Let Me Go   Chapter 58

Amaya’s POV I hit the ground hard, rolling onto my side as pain exploded in my leg and ribs. But I was out. I was breathing. I coughed violently, and blood spilled from my lips as I gasped for breath. The cold air hit my skin, a cruel contrast to the burning heat I had just escaped from. My body trembled, and all I could do was lay on my back, staring up at the night sky. For a moment, I remained there — until I heard the sound of sirens and shouts from the crowd. I knew I would be found if I remained there, so I forced myself up, clutching my stomach and ignoring the intense pain. Gritting my teeth, I began to limp toward the opposite side of the building, toward the thick trees and bushes beyond. All this while, I noticed Nyx had suddenly gone quiet, but I didn’t think too much of it as my main goal was to get as far away from the hospital and Dante as much as possible. Just a little more… I could see the dark outline of the trees. If I could just make it past there, I cou

Amaya’s POV“Adam,” I whispered as I stared at the young man who slowly began walking toward me.“I found you near the woods,” Adam said, his brown eyes never leaving mine. “You were half-conscious, half-bleeding out. You’re lucky I got there when I did.”My heart pounded as fragments of the memory began resurfacing.“I…” I swallowed hard. “I don’t remember much.”“That’s not surprising,” Ryder said, gently brushing his finger down the side of my face. “You’ve been out for almost a week.”“A week?” I gasped, my gaze snapping from Adam to Ryder, who nodded in response.“You were in really bad shape. You almost died.”Ryder’s thumb brushed against my cheek, his light blue eyes soft yet filled with worry.“You need to rest,” he said quietly. “There’s a lot I want to say to you, but first… you need to recover.”I hesitated, glancing at the young man behind him.“I would like to speak to Adam,” I said softly. “Alone.”Ryder’s gaze shifted between me and Adam. Amaya POVMy legs gave out, but Asher caught me again, easing me down until I was sitting against a rock. I clutched my stomach tighter as the pain from the stab resurfaced.“Are you okay?” Asher asked. When I looked up at him with a glare, he sucked in his lips and muttered, “Of course you’re not—you just got stabbed.”Thankfully, it wasn’t that deep. But that didn’t make it hurt any less. The white wolf must die.Another shiver ran down my spine as I recalled their hollow eyes and hateful words.“They really think I’m the villain,” I whispered, mostly to myself. But Asher, who had been pacing back and forth, froze and slowly turned to face me like he wasn’t sure if he should say something or just shut up and sit down. His eyes darted around before he finally walked over and crouched down in front of me.“They’re just kids,” he said quietly, rubbing the back of his neck. “They’re scared and brainwashed. They don’t know what they’re saying.”I didn’t respond. He sat down beside me, no

Amaya POVI thought it would be difficult, but I guess the perfume played a big role. Walking down the hallway, many guards glanced in my direction, but they all had the same expression—wrinkling their noses. And even when one tried approaching, I simply raised my hand before he could get closer, dismissing him instantly. Kara had a bossy, bratty reputation, so this was easy.Asher led me to where he claimed the kids were being held captive. By now, we had passed over twenty guards and turned more corners than I could keep up with. The moment I stepped inside, my fists clenched. It felt like a prison—but for children. I glanced around as I slowly approached. There were still other guards inside, watching the kids, but what pissed me off was the condition these kids were living in.When I walked past a cell, they shuddered back in fear, probably mistaking me for Kara.My fists clenched tighter when I saw a girl who looked around eight, holding a boy who couldn’t be older than five. Amaya POV“Aughhh!” I yelled, thrashing violently. The more he tried to hold me down, the more I struggled.“What’s going on!” Two guards rushed in, seeing the scene.“I don’t… she just started… acting all crazy,” the boy whose name I still hadn’t learned said. He was actually better at acting than I imagined. The two men shoved him away and held me down, and though they succeeded, it didn’t stop me from screaming.Soon, the sound of heels echoed down the hall. “What the hell is all this racket about?” Kara’s voice rang out as she strode into the room. The two guards stepped back, allowing her to assess the situation while I continued screaming, acting like I was mad.Kara snapped her finger. “Asher…” she called, and the boy slowly stepped forward. “What is this?” she demanded, pointing at me.“I… I think it’s the silver,” Asher muttered, his eyes darting from me to the guards. “She… she might be reacting to it.”Those words caught the guards off guard and one of them muttered, “… but

Amaya POVAlpha Kieran.A name whispered like a curse among rogues. He was powerful, ruthless, and once upon a time, respected. He was a rogue leader like no other. Boundaries. That all changed after a war.No one knew what happened on the battlefield, but the Kieran who returned wasn’t the same. He came back… sick. Strangely, the next morning he ordered an attack—not against a rival pack, but his own people.Entire rogue settlements burned overnight.Children were ripped from their mothers’ hands screaming. Families torn apart like paper. Blood soaked the ground, and no one dared ask why. Kieran’s silence was more terrifying than his rage. And behind it all, his obsession with the White Wolf grew. • My Mate, Please Let Me Go   Chapter 98

Amaya’s POV It’s been four days since I’d been held captive. I hadn’t seen Kara since then, which was a little disappointing because I’d only been able to gather small pieces of information. The only person who ever visited was the young man—or should I say boy—who brought my meals every day. Every time he came in, he’d remove just one chain from my hand, place the food carefully in front of me, then watch from a distance as I ate. At first, I didn’t trust him. I thought maybe the food was poisoned, but remembering the blue-eyed man’s words about how they couldn’t harm me… it couldn’t possibly be. So I ate. And, as suspected, nothing happened. The boy who was sent to watch me never really spoke. In fact, the only time I ever heard his voice was when he muttered a single word. “Eat.” That was it. He didn’t even look at me when he said it—like he either didn’t want to or wasn’t allowed to. But I saw him. The way his fingers trembled when he unlocked the chains. The way

  • My Mate, Please Let Me Go   Chapter 97

Dante POVI had just returned from another long, useless search for Amaya. It was late, almost past midnight, and I was dead on my feet. Not that it mattered. I knew I wouldn’t be able to sleep anyway. I’d become increasingly restless ever since Alpha Becket pulled me aside. He had also warned me to keep the truth from everyone — even Cyrus. According to him, the fewer people who knew, the safer it would be.Who would’ve thought the once delicate, childlike woman who stole my heart would turn out to be the last white wolf?I was so lost in thought that when I turned a corner, I slammed right into someone. I growled under my breath, massaging my temples.“I’m—” The apology died in my throat when I looked up.The man I’d bumped into was standing still, stiff, glaring at me. It made my instincts prickle.“I’m sorry for bumping into you,” I said, thinking maybe that was the reason for his attitude.Lately, I’d been apologizing more than usual. Normally, I would’ve just pushed past without

Amaya POVFew Days Ago…Briella had come to visit, which was unusual for her. It was late, and I had just stepped out of the shower, my robe clinging to my damp skin when I heard a knock at my door.“I need to talk,” she said. Without waiting for me to respond, she walked past me and collapsed onto my bed. I blinked, confused, then followed her.I turned back to the dressing table to dry my hair, but the silence stretched between us.“You wanted to say something?” I muttered, turning to meet her gaze. She wasn’t looking at me, but at her own hands, twisting nervously in her lap.I raised an eyebrow. “Is something wrong?”Briella heavily slumped her shoulders. “I’ve been dishonest.” Her words caught me off guard. I stopped drying my hair.I turned fully to face her, leaning against the table. “What do you mean?” I asked. She fidgeted, her fingers twitching anxiously — a side of her I hadn’t seen before. Something was very off.“That day at the rogue territory…” she began, her voice bar

Amaya POVPain was the first thing I felt when I opened my eyes. There was a burning ache at the back of my head, and a throbbing pulse in my wrist where something cold and heavy dug into my skin. The sack still covered my face, so all I could see was nothing.I tried to move, but the chains rattled loudly, forcing me to realize my wrists were shackled to the wall behind me. The more I struggled, the deeper they dug into my skin.Where am I?I took a sniff of the air. The scent was unfamiliar. Suddenly, I heard footsteps followed by the sound of something heavy being dragged across the floor. My heart began pounding heavily, yet I stayed as still as I could, keeping my breathing shallow under the sack. The dragging became louder and closer until it stopped right in front of me.“She’s awake,” came a rough voice.I flinched as cold fingers yanked the sack off my head. I squeezed my eyes shut due to the sudden brightness. When I finally dared to open them, I found myself staring into th

Dante's POV "Amaya!" I screamed and bolted upright in bed. My head spun and my arm burned from the IV a nurse was hurriedly trying to fix. It took only a second to realize I was in a hospital. "Where is she? Where is Amaya?" I growled, which startled the nurse so badly she stumbled back, trembling like a leaf. "I-I don't know..." she stammered. "You were found passed out on the road. Some passersby rushed you here. I-I'll go inform Sir Ryder you're awake," she said quickly and rushed out before I could stop her. Panic gripped me harder. How long had I been out? I glanced out the window. The sun was already high outside, and memories of last night crashed back into me like a nightmare. Amaya had been taken, and she had been missing since last night. Shit! I yanked the IV out of my arm and rushed towards the door, only to almost collide with Ryder, who was storming in. "Where is she?" he demanded, stepping furiously into the room with his eyes filled with rage. "You were with he
