No Matchmaking Works

Author: Amanda
(Grace's POV)

I listened to William Stone's conversation with my mate and almost let out a bitter laugh. The irony was too much to bear. Olivia and Ethan had only met after I was already mated to him. She knew about our bond from the beginning.

I refused to believe William didn't know that Ethan was the mate of his other daughter—his first daughter. Me.

He must know. Yet he shamelessly continued to push Olivia and Ethan together, treating her as if she were the rightful Luna. It showed just how completely indifferent he was toward me.

"From now on, please do me the favor of looking after her more," William said, his voice carrying that fatherly concern he'd never once shown me.

I pressed my back against the wall, out of sight but still able to hear every word.

"Of course," Ethan replied, his tone warm and accommodating. "Swift is always welcome in Silvercliff territory."

My chest tightened. That warmth in his voice—I hadn't heard it directed at me in years.

Ethan agreed to Wil

  • My Mate and Daughter's Betrayal   What Alpha Ethan Thinks

(Grace's POV)I stood in the bedroom, methodically folding my clothes and placing them in my suitcase. The burgundy swimsuit I'd purchased last month went in first, followed by comfortable loungewear and a few casual outfits. Everything I would need for our stay at Silver Springs Resort. What I didn't touch were Ethan's belongings. His suitcase remained empty on his side of the bed.In the past, I would have packed for both of us without hesitation. I would have known exactly which shirts he preferred for casual outings, which pants were most comfortable for him after soaking in thermal waters. I would have remembered his favorite aftershave and the specific brand of toothpaste he used. But not anymore. Let him pack his own things.Martha appeared in the doorway, Emma's small backpack in hand. "I've packed Miss Emma's things, Luna Grace. Is there anything else you'd like me to add?""No, thank you, Martha. I'm sure you've thought of everything." I didn't even check the contents o

  • My Mate and Daughter's Betrayal   The Alpha Who Invited Me Is Ethan Silver

(Grace's POV)I lowered my phone, staring at the blank screen. The sound of Olivia's voice calling Ethan "honey" echoed in my mind like a broken record. Each repetition stabbed my heart like a needle. I could still hear her sweet tone, the casual intimacy that should have been mine alone. With a deep breath, I forced myself to appear composed. My hands trembled slightly as I slipped the phone into my pocket.I headed downstairs, my footsteps heavy. Grandmother Victoria was waiting in the dining room, her sharp eyes finding mine the moment I entered."Well? Is he coming?" she asked, her tone expectant but with an edge of impatience.I shook my head quickly. "Alpha King Ethan already has dinner arrangements."Her face fell immediately. Deep lines of disappointment etched around her mouth as she gripped her napkin tighter."What arrangements could possibly be more important than family dinner?" she demanded, her voice rising slightly.I couldn't bring myself to mention Olivia. Th

  • My Mate and Daughter's Betrayal   Give Her the Property Certificate

(Grace's POV)When we arrived back at the Silvercliff Pack House, Grandmother Victoria stood in the doorway. Her shoulders relaxed when she saw me emerge from Ethan's car."You're finally home," she said, her tone carrying both relief and mild reproach.Ethan brushed past us both with barely a nod, heading straight for his study. The dismissal stung, though I should have been used to it by now.In the hallway, I paused to make a call. My uncle Robert answered on the third ring."Grace? Is everything alright?" Concern laced his words."Yes, Uncle. I wanted to let you know—the Stone Ridge Estate situation has been resolved. Ethan has agreed to help secure it."There was a pause, then a heavy sigh. "That's wonderful news. The Reynolds moving in right across from us would have caused nothing but trouble.""I know.""You've done well, Grace. The pack will be grateful." His voice grew warmer. "How did you convince him?"I hesitated. "I didn't have to. He... offered."When we final

  • My Mate and Daughter's Betrayal   Grandmother Asked Me to Pick You Up

(Grace's POV)I felt a sudden sting in my throat as the reality of the situation hit me. The car grew uncomfortably stuffy, the air thick with unspoken truths.I nearly pressed the window button for fresh air but stopped myself. No need to draw attention to my discomfort when Ethan was already so distant.Instead, I turned my head to watch the world go by outside. Trees and buildings blurred together as we drove, matching the haze of my thoughts.Only when Emma's school appeared in the distance did I rouse myself from this painful reverie. The car slowed to a stop, and I automatically reached for the door handle."I'll walk Emma in," I said, my voice sounding strange even to my own ears.Ethan remained unmoving behind the wheel, his knuckles white against the dark leather. His silence was answer enough - he wouldn't join us.Emma glanced between us, her small face clouding with confusion. "Father...""Father has something to do," Ethan replied, his tone flat and final. Not even

  • My Mate and Daughter's Betrayal   Alpha Territory

(Grace's POV)I stepped out of the bathroom, the cool air hitting my bare legs. I'd forgotten my pajama bottoms, leaving me in just an oversized nightshirt that barely reached mid-thigh. My eyes met Ethan's across the room. He was sitting on the edge of the bed, a document in his hands. His gaze flickered over me for just a moment before returning to the papers."I just forgot to grab my pajama bottoms..." I said quickly, feeling heat rise to my cheeks."Mm," he responded, the sound noncommittal. Relief washed through me as I hurried to the adjoining dressing room. The brief encounter left my heart racing, though I couldn't tell if it was from embarrassment or something else entirely. In the safety of the dressing room, I pulled on a pair of warm cotton pajama bottoms, taking a moment to steady my breathing. This awkward dance around each other was exhausting. When I returned to the bedroom, Ethan was gone. The soft sound of running water told me he was in the ensuite bathroom

  • My Mate and Daughter's Betrayal   Wiping Away the Tear at Her Eye Corner

(Grace's POV)Tears welled up at the corners of my eyes, my mind blanking for a moment at Ethan's unexpected agreement. I had prepared myself for negotiation, for pleading, perhaps even for outright rejection. But not for this simple "okay."I quickly regained my senses, hurriedly saying, "Thank you, and you—""What was the condition you agreed to?" Ethan interrupted, cutting through my stammered gratitude. He drew the cigarette away from his lips, the smoke curling between us like the complicated emotions that had replaced our once-clear bond. Then, with a gentleness I hadn't felt in months, he brushed the tear sliding from my eye corner with his thumb."Get some rest early," he added softly, his voice lacking its usual coldness.I stood frozen, watching his departing figure, forgetting how to respond. The warmth of his touch lingered on my skin, a ghost of intimacy that felt both familiar and foreign. The door closed behind him with a soft click, leaving me alone with the echo

  • My Mate and Daughter's Betrayal   Whatever Condition, I'll Agree

(Grace's POV)I stared at my phone in disbelief, though I shouldn't have been surprised. Olivia Stone's smooth voice flowed through the speaker, as familiar as it was unwelcome."Hello? Who is this?" she asked, though I suspected she already knew.I swallowed the bitter taste in my mouth. After all, Ethan and Olivia had grown so close they were practically inseparable these days. So what if she answered my mate's phone? It was hardly the first boundary she'd crossed."I'm looking for Alpha King Ethan," I said, keeping my voice steady despite the storm brewing inside me.My wolf Cora paced restlessly, sensing my distress but unable to do anything about it. As an Alpha's mate, I'd learned to maintain composure even when my insides were crumbling."He's occupied at the moment," Olivia replied, her tone cool and professional. "You can tell me if you wish, and I'll pass along the message."Of course he was occupied. He was always occupied when it came to me."It's a private matter,"

  • My Mate and Daughter's Betrayal   Emmy, Don't You Have a Mother Either?

(Harrison's POV)I looked at Alpha King Ethan Silver as he extended the crystal wine glass toward me. The yacht's gentle rocking beneath our feet matched the uneasy rhythm in my chest."Thank you," I said, accepting the drink with a slight nod.The toast had barely ended when Quinn Sullivan sidled up beside me, his eyes dancing with mischief. "You seem off today, Harry."A single glance passed between Ethan and me—loaded with unspoken questions. The Alpha's piercing gray eyes held mine for a beat longer than necessary.I sipped my wine, keeping my voice steady despite the flicker in my gaze. "Am I?"Quinn raised an eyebrow, his lips curving into a knowing smirk. "Really?"The evening breeze carried the scent of salt and expensive perfume across the deck. Yacht lights reflected off the dark water, creating an illusion of stars beneath us."You've been distracted since you arrived," Quinn pressed, swirling his drink. "Something on your mind? Or someone?"I maintained my composur

  • My Mate and Daughter's Betrayal   Nowhere to Go

(Grace's POV)I drove away from the Crescent Moon Equestrian Center, my hands gripping the steering wheel too tightly. The image of Ethan, Emma, and Olivia riding together—the perfect family portrait—burned in my mind.Where could I go now? The thought of returning to the Morgan Ancestral Home crossed my mind, but without Emma, I knew Grandma Eleanor would worry. Her concerned eyes would see right through my brave face."Are you alright, dear?" she would ask, and I wasn't sure I could lie convincingly today.Charlotte was busy with her family this weekend. Dominic had mentioned a territory meeting with neighboring Alphas. Everyone had somewhere to be, someone to be with.Everyone except me.The realization settled heavily in my chest as I drove aimlessly through the Northern Territory. Cora whined softly inside me, feeling my isolation as keenly as I did.My phone buzzed with a text from Martha: "Young Miss Emma will be staying with the Alpha King tonight. Should I prepare your
