GRANT

I stood outside the servant quarters waiting for Feyre. Nobody had any idea where she was. They hadn't seen her since she left for Anna's party.

I remembered how she had looked at me as she left Anna's house.

I felt guilty about what had happened there. I should have spoken up for her, but I didn't want Anna to feel suspicious about me and Feyre.

I didn't want Anna to know that I had been having an affair with Feyre.

But I couldn't seem to stop being with Feyre. I just couldn't let her go. But once I had done the mating ceremony with Anna, I would let her go. I had to let her go.

And then I saw a car approaching. The car stopped and Feyre got out of the car.

Who was that? Where was she coming from?

She got out and bowed to the driver, and then the car left.

I noticed the license plate; it was from Alpha Ryder's pack. What was his business with her? Why was she seeing him?

She walked towards me. "Hey Feyre." I smiled at her.

Her face looked cold.

"What do you want, Alpha Grant?" she asked me.

She was wearing a short gown. I looked down and noticed the bruises on her legs and thighs. I felt so bad.

"Come with me." I pulled her along with me to the guest house at the edge of the pack house. Most times, we met here.

"Look, I had no idea Gia and the rest would be there," I told her.

"I see. Alpha Grant, I have something to say," she told me.

"What is it?"

"I think it's time I stopped working at the pack house and moved out of the pack," she told me.

I instantly felt panic. She couldn't leave.

"You aren't going anywhere. Don't be silly," I told her.

"Alpha, you are going to be mated soon. I think it would be inappropriate, given our relationship, for me to continue working there."

I seized her arms and turned her to face me. "Look here, I will decide when we end things."

I tried to kiss her, but she turned her face away.

"Feyre, what is wrong with you?" I asked her.

"Alpha Grant, I don't want to be your secret anymore."

"Feyre, do you want to be mated? Don't worry, when it's time, we will find a young man for you in this pack."

Even though I hated the thought of her being with someone else, I had to say something to appease her.

I tried to hold her, but she shrugged out of my arms.

"Why are you behaving this way, hmm? Is it because of Alpha Ryder?"

She looked at me in surprise. "Surprised? I saw the license plate of the car that brought you home. Why did you go and see him?"

She said nothing and looked down. I gripped her hand tightly. "Why did you go to see him?"

"I... I... was distraught after what happened, so I ran away. I met him and his guards and he told one of them to give me a ride home."

I searched her eyes to see if she was lying, but she looked composed. She had never lied to me before, so I didn't see a reason to suspect anything.

I rubbed her arms gently. "Good. I want you to remember that I am the only one who would treat you this nicely. No other person would be this nice to you."

She nodded. "Thank you, Alpha Grant."

I kissed her forehead. She was so beautiful.

"You want to go to the Imperial Werewolf College, right? I heard there is just one slot for our pack. I am the Alpha; one word and it's yours."

She looked at me. I saw a little light come back to her eyes.

"You will help me get it?" she asked. I saw hope in her eyes.

"Of course. Just keep your head down and stop acting out, okay?"

"Okay," she nodded.

"Now, do you want to spend the night with me?" I asked her.

Before she could answer, my phone rang. I checked; it was Anna.

"Hey," I said in a soft voice.

"Grant, I don't feel good." Her voice was low.

"What's wrong? Are you okay?" I asked in a panic.

"I don't know. I feel sick. Can you come over?"

"I am on my way. I will be with you soon," I told her.

"Okay, I am waiting."

I ended the call.

I was so worried about Anna. What was wrong with her?

"Feyre, I need to go. You can sleep here and sneak out early in the morning, okay? Make sure no one sees you," I told her. I didn't wait for her reply; I hurried out of the house to see Anna.

She was in her bedroom, shivering slightly under the covers.

"Anna, are you okay?" I asked.

"I don't know. I just feel ill. Can you stay with me, please?" she asked.

"Of course, I will stay with you." I took off my shoes and joined her in bed.

"Grant, do you love me?" she asked.

I looked at her. "Of course I do. I have always loved you."

"I know I hurt you when I mated with my late mate, but I had no choice. My father made the arrangement."

I kissed her forehead. "Anna, that was in the past and I don't blame you for anything. You are back with me and that's all that matters."

"But I heard some people have said I am second-hand."

"Who said that?" I asked in anger.

"Grant, that isn't the point. Do you think that?"

I sat up and turned to look at her. "Anna, I have never thought that at all. You are my Anna, whom I have always loved."

She smiled, her eyes teared up. "Oh, Grant!"

I wiped her tears away and kissed her slowly.

"It's okay, Anna. I am here for you. I am always here."

"By the way, I found out from the servants that Gia, Rita, and Phil were the ones who pushed Feyre into the pool."

I wasn't surprised at all. I knew those three were behind it.

"I am thinking of bringing them over to the pack house to apologize to Feyre. What do you think?"

"I think it's a good idea," I told her. This was why I loved Anna; she was so kind and loving.

"I love you, Grant."

"I love you too, Anna."
