Chapter 62: Heartless As Ever

The sun began to peek through the horizon, bathing the city in a golden early morning glow that reminded me of Dylan's eyes. I've never really taken a moment to simply admire the sunrise so I didn't realize until now how mesmerizing it was to witness the city slowly waking up as it went higher up in the sky. It was such a shame that instead of seeing the usual bustle in this part of the city, my eyes only caught sight of the aftermath of the rampage that went on the night before. 

As the birds chirped along the nearly deserted sidewalks, I peeled my gaze off of the road, disturbed by the bodies that were laying on the ground. There were brownish spots on the pavement—most likely dried blood. I often saw someone flinch but most of them just laid motionlessly. 

All these were happening because of some stupid social class division that we made for ourselves, but once they were all devoid of life, it was barely possible to tell which was a human or a werewolf.<
