Chapter 6

Author: Strawberry Jammy
Sabrina's smile froze, and panic flashed across her face as she scrambled behind Sebastian.

"Sebastian, help me. They're framing me!"

"What is this? Who sent you here?" he asked, stepping in front of her.

"Healer Sebastian, this is a warrant signed by the Council." The enforcer lifted a document. "The evidence is conclusive. Don't interfere with the arrest."

"What evidence? This has to be a setup," Sebastian replied sharply, scanning the crowd until his gaze locked onto me in the corner.

  • My Mate’s Deadly Cure   Chapter 9

At last, Sebastian found it in a yellowed, ancient tome. That single line made his world collapse.[If a soul from another realm dies by their fated mate's hand, the soul will return to its original world.]Sebastian's fingers went numb, the book slipping from his grasp and hitting the floor. So, I was a soul from another world, and could only go home if I died by his hands.A broken laugh tore out of him as he dropped to the floor. "So, I really… sent you away myself…"No wonder I had been so calm at the end, and so willing to drink the poison. I had wanted to leave all along. He was the idiot who handed me the blade and helped me sever that final bond. There was no punishment crueler than this—to long for what you couldn't have, to cling to what you couldn't keep, and to finally lose what you had gained. In the days that followed, Sebastian seemed like a different person. He stopped researching potions entirely. He locked himself in our room, clutching my things and staring int

Sebastian's hands shook as he picked up the test report again, then pulled up his previous prescription records. When his eyes landed on the familiar list of ingredients, his entire body froze. He scanned the formula line by line, stopping at a blank space. That spot should have listed moonflower extract. It was the core of the antidote, the key component that neutralized the wolfsbane toxin.Without it, the prescription didn't counteract poison. In fact, it would react violently with the toxins already in the body, turning it into something far deadlier.Sebastian's eyes widened, his breathing turning ragged. His mind snapped back to that afternoon. He had been writing the prescription when someone burst in and told him Sabrina had been poisoned. Panic consuming him, he had thrown down his pen and run out.He thought he had finished!A broken, desperate howl tore out of his chest. He slammed his fist into the desk, blood splattering across the white paper. So, it had been him. H

Just as I expected, the moment the medication flowed into my veins, the pain came back. It was worse than anything before. My nails dug into the sheets. The veins in my neck darkened, pulsing black under my skin as the agony ripped through me."It hurts... Sebastian... it hurts..."He watched me writhe, something like pity flashing in his eyes. Then, it vanished, replaced by cold indifference."Good. Pain is the point. Consider this a lesson. Some lines should never be crossed. Sabrina was terrified. She's been crying nonstop in the next room. Now that you're awake, I'm going to check on her."And just like that, he turned and walked away, leaving me alone in the cold emergency ward.I gathered what little strength I had left and called after him, "Sebastian."He paused, but didn't turn back.My voice shook, barely louder than a whisper as I said, "You'll regret this. I promise you'll regret this."He still left. The moment the door shut, the world collapsed into darkness. Eve

This has to be a setup," Sebastian replied sharply, scanning the crowd until his gaze locked onto me in the corner. He crossed the plaza in long strides and seized my wrist, disappointment in his eyes. "Christina, this is your doing, isn't it? You really fabricated this just because you were jealous? You would destroy her over something so petty?"I clenched my teeth through the pain and met his gaze. "She poisoned our pack members. In your eyes, are their deaths just the price of a game?""All I know is that you're trying to ruin Sabrina because you're jealous!" Sebastian shouted. He turned on the enforcers

I tried to shrink into the corner, wishing I didn't have to see their infuriating faces in my final days. But Lily's expression darkened instantly. "Everything's sold out. Please leave!"Sebastian frowned, clearly not expecting to be shooed away so bluntly. Before he could speak, Sabrina let out a light, mocking laugh."Why so grumpy?" she asked. Her gaze slid past Lily and locked onto me with pinpoint precision. At that moment, the malice in her eyes spilled over."Christina is here too? I thought you were home, nursing your illness," she said.My grip on my cup tightened.Beside me, Lily snapped furiously, "Christina is perfectly healthy! It's you who pretends to be weak all the time but is actually the cruelest of all!"Sebastian couldn't take it anymore. He stepped forward, placing himself protectively in front of Sabrina. "Lily, you're Christina's friend. I don't want to make things difficult for you, but Sabrina is a guest. You should speak politely."Then, he turned to

Sebastian watched the cold sweat bead on my forehead and reached out to check my temperature. "Are you feeling unwell?"I turned my head away and replied, "Probably just the medicine kicking in."He pulled his hand back, his expression easing. "That makes sense. A bit of rejection is normal. Just endure it. Once you're better, we'll go to Moonlight Cliff to watch the sunrise. We didn't get to go last time because of the plague affecting the Bloodmoon Pack."He probably forgot that we didn't go to Moonlight Cliff not just because of the plague, but because of Sabrina."No need." I closed my eyes, hiding the mockery in them. "I'm too tired. I don't want to go through the trouble."Thinking I was just sulking, he sighed helplessly. "Then, rest. I'll go to the infirmary and see if the new batch of medicine has arrived."As I watched him disappear, I lifted the blanket and walked to my desk. Inside the drawer was the evidence I had organized. For years, Sabrina had experimented on in
