Chapter 6

Author: Moore
When Dad came home, he found Mom standing alone in the living room, holding a bowl of dessert that had already gone cold.

"Honey, what's wrong? Did Tatiana come back?"

He took off his coat, sank tiredly into a chair, and rubbed his temples.

"Beta Matthew spoke to me today. He refuses to change his engagement partner. I never expected that. I was already planning to name Tatiana as the heir. It would be better for the Truss family's future..."

Mom stared blankly at him. Tatiana's accusations had shaken her badly, and the memories she had buried for ten years surged back all at once.

She remembered how overjoyed she had been when I was born and how she had poured all her love into me.

I had once been the most important person in her world. So how did she end up forgetting me?

The thought stabbed sharply when she recalled the conversation about mates.

She finally understood how I must have felt.

Silently, she set the bowl down and walked toward my room.

My room was tucked away i

"Is that your idea of an apology?" Sirin suddenly pulled me behind him. His tall frame formed a protective wall."You say you avoided her out of guilt, but did you ever think about how much your behavior hurt her? You wronged her from the beginning. What makes you think she owes you forgiveness?"He then turned to me. His voice was firm and unwavering. "You don't have to carry the consequences of someone else's mistakes. You can choose to forgive or choose to ignore it completely. But you should never change your decision just because someone asks you to."My vision blurred. No one had ever stood so firmly on my side and told me I had a right to choose and to live by my own will.I took a deep breath and faced Matthew."You didn't lose me. Everything I did back then was voluntary. You don't need to feel guilty about that. But the way you hurt me afterward was real, and I don't intend to forgive you."I turned away from the devastated look in his eyes."Please leave. I don't hate

"Tatiana refused to become your father's heir, and Matthew refused to bond with her. They both miss you. They just can't bring themselves to admit it."This time, I was genuinely stunned. In my last life, after Matthew and I bonded, he stayed out every night and called Tatiana's name even when he was with me. I always assumed that once our engagement ended, he would run straight into her arms. However, in this life, even after I stepped aside, they still didn't end up together?"Come home. The Truss family heir position was always meant for you. Your mother cries over that family photo every day. S-She really misses you." Dad's exhausted voice came through the phone, shocking me all over again. In my previous life, I waited a lifetime hoping they would really look at me and love me the way I loved them.Even when I died, that hope never came true.In this life, I had let everything go, yet now they were all scrambling to apologize to me. It was honestly laughable. After hearing

In my second year at the university, I began joining my instructors on small field missions.During territorial disputes, we followed warriors deep into the forest, traveling to remote areas. The conditions were harsh. We slept outdoors, ate whatever we could, and endured long days of marching. Many students couldn't handle it and complained nonstop, begging to return home. But I completed every task calmly. I never complained or fussed over food. Even Sirin Webb, the Northern Territory's Beta, looked at me with newfound respect."You're tough. Are you one of this year's new students?"I nodded while chewing on a piece of bread as dry as bark. My hands were still focused on wrapping the bandage around his arm.I tied a small bow at the end of the dressing, satisfied, then lifted a bowl of wormwood broth to his lips."Drink this. It masks the scent of blood."I had learned this recipe for Matthew. He never appreciated it. After being reborn, I never made it for him again. Now,

After arriving in the Northern Territory, I adapted quickly.I poured all my energy into training as a combat healer.Once I graduated, I planned to join the patrol unit as a field combat healer. The instructors recognized my effort and talent, and I was given additional one-on-one training opportunities.Life was busy and fulfilling. In my free time, I took on part-time jobs. With scholarships and stipends from the university, I became fully financially independent. When I left the Blue Moon Pack, I didn't take a single coin from home. Even the essentials I brought were the bare minimum. For the first time, I felt like I was truly in control of my own life.Less than a week after arriving, Mom called.I was stunned. In both my lives combined, she had never once phoned me on her own initiative. Part of me even wondered if she knew my number. She asked if I had enough money and whether I was adjusting well. Her voice was cautious, as if afraid of scaring me away.I kept my re

Matthew took a long, steady breath before saying to Tatiana, "I was wrong. Sheila suffered more than anyone. You shouldn't hate her."She wanted to argue, but he continued before she could speak, "When you were just born, Sheila dragged me to see you every day. She would keep saying, 'Matthew, I have a baby sister now. She's so cute. I'm going to love her forever!'"Until you turned two, she was the one who took care of you. She was only ten, yet she clumsily changed your diapers and crushed sweet berries into juice to feed you spoon by spoon."A dazed look washed over Tatiana's face. She had no memory of any of this."When you were three, the eldest son of the Gray Wolf Pack's Alpha, Allen Underwood, kidnapped you. Sheila stormed into the Gray Wolf Pack alone and fought him head-on to get you back."Everyone thought she had wandered off with you. She came home bruised all over, and they made her kneel outside the whole night."And do you know how she disappeared? It was on your
