Chapter 2

Penulis: Ashen North
I had been torn apart by countless vicious beastmen. They bit into me, devoured me. My eyes were gouged out and eaten, and my tongue was sliced off. By the time I died, there wasn't a single patch of skin left untouched.

The night before I was sent to the Beast Den, I begged Blair to help me escape. But he went against my orders.

He said, "You're no longer my master. Mr. Roffe already used a secret spell to break our contract. Your life or death has nothing to do with me."

And when I tried to run, he blocked my way. He ignored my desperate pleas and shoved me into the Beast Den himself. His last words to me were, "You're a half-beast. You won't die."

But there was something he didn't know: Justin had ripped away the beast bone that carried my powers as a half-beast and given it to Maisie.

Right now, I was even weaker than a human.

"What's wrong, Claudia? You look so pale," Maisie said gently, but the cold smirk tugging at her lips didn't escape my eyes.

"It's none of your business." I took a deep breath, forcing down the flood of hatred rising inside me.

"Why are you being so rude? We're sisters." She pretended to look hurt, but her tone dripped with calculation.

"If you really see me as your sister, then give back what's mine."

With that, I turned and walked away without a second glance.

Not long after I got back to my room, Justin stormed in and slammed the door open, his face twisted in fury.

"Claudia! Who the hell do you think you are, talking to your sister like that?"

I stared at him coldly. In my previous life, this was the same brother who had thrown me into the Beast Den to save Maisie. And in this life, he was still just as disgusting.

"What? Did I say something wrong? Maisie doesn't even deserve to be my sister."

"You little…" Justin's face turned red. He stepped toward me and raised his hand to strike.

I didn't flinch and looked straight at him, my eyes as sharp as knives.

His hand froze in mid-air. In the end, it never came down.

"You're just like your damned beastman father, so vulgar and savage."

I let out a cold laugh. "Aren't you his child, too?"

I had heard that insult so many times. But even in this second life, being rejected so harshly by my brother still made my heart ache.

Justin got even angrier at my question. "Guards! Lock her up!"

"Why not just kill me? That way, no one would know what you and Maisie have done."

His expression shifted, and his eyes darted away. I'd hit a nerve.

"What are you talking about? I'm just giving you time to reflect!"

"Reflect? What exactly should I reflect on? That I was born to a beastman father? Or that I dared to ask Maisie for what's rightfully mine?"

I stepped toward him, my voice icy.

In a flash, Justin slapped me hard across the face. I was already weak, and the force of it knocked me to the floor.

Dusty had been napping on the bed. Hearing the noise, he jumped down and tried to bite Justin's hand.

But how could a small fox take on a grown man? With one blow, Justin sent him flying across the room. Dusty hit the floor hard and let out a weak cry.

"Dusty!"

My heart dropped. He was still so fragile; there was no way he could take a hit like that.

Justin stepped on my hand as I tried to crawl toward Dusty. Looking down at me with cold disdain, he spat, "As long as you behave, I'll let you and that thing live. But if you ever upset Maisie again, I'll kill him myself."

  • My Nine-Tailed Husband   Chapter 10

Kaelen bit down hard on his lower lip, looking like he was ready to face death itself.Suddenly, it felt pointless, so I got out of the bed and left the room without looking back.Over the next few days, I didn't go home. Instead, I spent my time drinking at the biggest tavern in the city. This was the famous Beastkin Lounge, where every server was a different type of beastman. Some even offered special services. That day, I was completely wasted. My gaze wandered to the delicate-looking beastman beside me, quietly pouring my drink.Without thinking, I reached out and pulled him into my arms."You're quite—"Before I could finish the sentence, the door slammed open with a loud crash, the wood splintering into pieces. There he stood—Kaelen, dressed in white, his face dark as a storm cloud and his eyes burning with fury. He stared at me and the beastman in my arms.I was lamenting my bad luck at getting caught when Kaelen simply turned and walked away in silence.I shoved the b

The Beast King and his beastmen showed up at our door, demanding me to surrender, right when Kaelen was all over me, begging for hugs and kisses. And just like that, we got interrupted."Claudia! Come out and surrender right now, and maybe I'll consider going easy on you. If you don't, you should know that my beastmen haven't touched a woman in ages!"Right after that, loud laughter and howls erupted outside.I could feel Kaelen freeze next to me. The air around him grew heavy. He was pissed.Without saying a word, he stood up and threw on his robe. After giving me a quick kiss on the lips, he flew right out the door. What followed was the sound of things breaking and people screaming for mercy."I'm sorry! I didn't know you were inside!"Peeking through the crack in the door, I saw the Beast King, who had been intimidating moments ago, now grovelling in front of Kaelen, his posture as humble as could be.All around him, the other beastmen were lying on the floor, groaning in

As soon as I finished speaking, I reached out and pulled my beast bone straight out of Maisie's body.Because it had been in her for so long, the bone had already fused with her flesh. The pain of bone and flesh being torn apart made her writhe on the ground, screaming in agony.Justin tried to rush over to stop me, but Kaelen raised a hand and froze him in place. All he could do was watch helplessly as the sister he loved most endured the torment of being skinned alive.Honestly, with my abilities, I could've pulled the bone out in an instant. But I chose the slowest, most painful way on purpose.Only when Maisie finally passed out from the pain and went silent did I finally pull my hand back, though still not fully satisfied."I've taken back what's mine. Good luck, I guess."On the way back, I turned to Kaelen. "Do you think I was too cruel?"He held me tighter and replied in a low, hoarse voice, "I only hate that I wasn't there for you back then. If I'd met you sooner, I wo

By the time I woke up, it was already the third day.Kaelen gently picked me up and started dressing me, then did my hair. I looked in the mirror and noticed the woman staring back at me had a soft, radiant glow, as if she'd been completely transformed.Kaelen cupped my face like it was the most precious thing in the world, and kissed my forehead softly."I promise I'll get back everything that belongs to you."Once everything was in order, Kaelen called for his mount and flew me straight toward the Roffes. From a distance, I could already see a group of people waiting outside the Roffes' gates. One of the elders stepped forward to greet us."I'm sorry we didn't recognize you at first, Mr. Deep. Please forgive us. We got you these as an apology."I followed his gaze. Off to the side was a whole pile of extravagant gifts—luxuries I normally wouldn't even have a chance to see, let alone use. They'd even brought along a few seductive, curvy beast servants, who were shamelessly bat

I gasped in surprise, a wave of joy and excitement blooming in my chest."Yeah, it's me.""That's amazing!"As soon as I heard his confirmation, I threw my arms around the man. The joy of getting him back after thinking I'd lost him filled my heart completely."But... I thought you died."Dusty gently wiped my tears with his hand, his eyes full of tenderness that felt endless."I told you I'd always protect you. My real name is Kaelen Deep."Kaelen Deep! The legendary divine beast that had lived for ten thousand years—Kaelen, the Nine-Tailed Celestial Fox!Damn, I actually just landed myself a god-tier protector! In the beast realm, just like in the human world, there were social classes.Beastmen like Blair were the lowest, destined to be servants. Some were a bit higher and got to live free lives. Then there were powerful leaders like the Beast King. But someone like Kaelen, who had lived for ten thousand years and still hadn't died, was in a completely different league.

Boom! With just a wave of the man's hand, an invisible force knocked the executioner and his giant blade flat onto the ground. The man in white slowly descended in front of me. He reached out with his long, slender fingers and gently tapped the center of my forehead. Instantly, a warm current surged through my body."Are you okay?"He lowered his head, looking at me. His voice was so soft, it felt like a spring breeze brushing past my ears.I stared blankly, then gave a small nod."Who the hell are you? Get out right now!" Maisie's shrill voice snapped me back to reality. The man ignored her and turned to look at the Roffe patriarch instead. His tone was cold. "You don't deserve to know my name."The patriarch trembled all over, his lips moving in a whisper. "He's got a white light surrounding his body, and such overwhelming power... Could he be…""Hmph."With a snort, the man's aura exploded. The pressure alone crushed the patriarch to his knees."I saw everything that happ
