Chapter 1

Author: Ashen North
The Beast King had made an agreement with the humans—every so often, they'd send a group of beastmen, each with different skills, for the humans to choose from as servants.

In my last life, I had carefully picked a tiger beastman. But when my brother threw me into the Beast Den, that tiger didn't even try to save me. He just stood by and watched me die, all because I was a half-beast born of a beast and a human, a disgrace in his eyes.

He told me I wasn't worthy to be his master. I didn't realize it then, but the one he'd always wanted to protect was my half-sister, Maisie Roffe.

And now here I was, back on the day we were choosing our beast servants.

"Come on, Claudia. Hurry up and pick one!"

Maisie's sugary voice was sharp as a needle in my ear.

I shut my eyes for a second and forced those bloody memories out of my mind.

"What's the rush? Choosing a beast servant is serious business. You can't just do it on a whim," I replied coldly, my eyes scanning the line of beastmen in front of me.

Blair, the tiger that had abandoned me in my past life, stood among them, looking tall and muscular. The moment our eyes met, he quickly looked away.

I knew what that meant. He was scared I'd choose him again. In my past life, I had thought he was just shy.

I gave a bitter smile and looked away, my gaze landing on a scruffy gray fox crouched in the corner.

He was skinny and dirty, with tangled fur, nothing like the fierce, majestic beastmen beside him. Honestly, he looked pathetic.

But for some reason, seeing him like that made me think of myself from the last life.

"This one," I said firmly, pointing at the gray fox.

"What?" Maisie gasped. "Are you serious? That one? What's it even good for?"

"My choice isn't your concern," I snapped before she could say more and walked straight over to the gray fox.

He lifted his head, his cloudy eyes full of fear and unease.

I crouched down and reached out, gently stroking his head.

"Don't be scared. From now on, we're partners."

Maisie picked Blair—huge, powerful, and intimidating.

She excitedly stroked his fur and showed him off to me. "Look! Isn't he amazing?"

"If you like it, that's all that matters," I replied calmly. My voice didn't show the slightest emotion.

Blair finally got what he wanted.

Maisie was my half-sister, born of a different father. Unlike me, she was adored and cherished by everyone.

Even my brother, Justin Roffe—who shared both my parents—treated her like a treasure. Although he was also the son of a beastman, he had inherited everything from our human mother, so he looked and lived as a normal human.

He hated our father and me. He saw both of us as a disgrace. And he spoiled Maisie endlessly.

In my past life, after Maisie accidentally killed the Beast King's son, Justin drugged me and sent me into the Beast Den to take the blame, just to protect her and keep the peace.

The Beast Den was pure hell on Earth.

Kaelen bit down hard on his lower lip, looking like he was ready to face death itself.Suddenly, it felt pointless, so I got out of the bed and left the room without looking back.Over the next few days, I didn't go home. Instead, I spent my time drinking at the biggest tavern in the city. This was the famous Beastkin Lounge, where every server was a different type of beastman. Some even offered special services. That day, I was completely wasted. My gaze wandered to the delicate-looking beastman beside me, quietly pouring my drink.Without thinking, I reached out and pulled him into my arms."You're quite—"Before I could finish the sentence, the door slammed open with a loud crash, the wood splintering into pieces. There he stood—Kaelen, dressed in white, his face dark as a storm cloud and his eyes burning with fury. He stared at me and the beastman in my arms.I was lamenting my bad luck at getting caught when Kaelen simply turned and walked away in silence.I shoved the b

The Beast King and his beastmen showed up at our door, demanding me to surrender, right when Kaelen was all over me, begging for hugs and kisses. And just like that, we got interrupted."Claudia! Come out and surrender right now, and maybe I'll consider going easy on you. If you don't, you should know that my beastmen haven't touched a woman in ages!"Right after that, loud laughter and howls erupted outside.I could feel Kaelen freeze next to me. The air around him grew heavy. He was pissed.Without saying a word, he stood up and threw on his robe. After giving me a quick kiss on the lips, he flew right out the door. What followed was the sound of things breaking and people screaming for mercy."I'm sorry! I didn't know you were inside!"Peeking through the crack in the door, I saw the Beast King, who had been intimidating moments ago, now grovelling in front of Kaelen, his posture as humble as could be.All around him, the other beastmen were lying on the floor, groaning in

As soon as I finished speaking, I reached out and pulled my beast bone straight out of Maisie's body.Because it had been in her for so long, the bone had already fused with her flesh. The pain of bone and flesh being torn apart made her writhe on the ground, screaming in agony.Justin tried to rush over to stop me, but Kaelen raised a hand and froze him in place. All he could do was watch helplessly as the sister he loved most endured the torment of being skinned alive.Honestly, with my abilities, I could've pulled the bone out in an instant. But I chose the slowest, most painful way on purpose.Only when Maisie finally passed out from the pain and went silent did I finally pull my hand back, though still not fully satisfied."I've taken back what's mine. Good luck, I guess."On the way back, I turned to Kaelen. "Do you think I was too cruel?"He held me tighter and replied in a low, hoarse voice, "I only hate that I wasn't there for you back then. If I'd met you sooner, I wo

By the time I woke up, it was already the third day.Kaelen gently picked me up and started dressing me, then did my hair. I looked in the mirror and noticed the woman staring back at me had a soft, radiant glow, as if she'd been completely transformed.Kaelen cupped my face like it was the most precious thing in the world, and kissed my forehead softly."I promise I'll get back everything that belongs to you."Once everything was in order, Kaelen called for his mount and flew me straight toward the Roffes. From a distance, I could already see a group of people waiting outside the Roffes' gates. One of the elders stepped forward to greet us."I'm sorry we didn't recognize you at first, Mr. Deep. Please forgive us. We got you these as an apology."I followed his gaze. Off to the side was a whole pile of extravagant gifts—luxuries I normally wouldn't even have a chance to see, let alone use. They'd even brought along a few seductive, curvy beast servants, who were shamelessly bat

I gasped in surprise, a wave of joy and excitement blooming in my chest."Yeah, it's me.""That's amazing!"As soon as I heard his confirmation, I threw my arms around the man. The joy of getting him back after thinking I'd lost him filled my heart completely."But... I thought you died."Dusty gently wiped my tears with his hand, his eyes full of tenderness that felt endless."I told you I'd always protect you. My real name is Kaelen Deep."Kaelen Deep! The legendary divine beast that had lived for ten thousand years—Kaelen, the Nine-Tailed Celestial Fox!Damn, I actually just landed myself a god-tier protector! In the beast realm, just like in the human world, there were social classes.Beastmen like Blair were the lowest, destined to be servants. Boom! With just a wave of the man's hand, an invisible force knocked the executioner and his giant blade flat onto the ground. The man in white slowly descended in front of me. He reached out with his long, slender fingers and gently tapped the center of my forehead. Instantly, a warm current surged through my body."Are you okay?"He lowered his head, looking at me. His voice was so soft, it felt like a spring breeze brushing past my ears.I stared blankly, then gave a small nod."Who the hell are you? Get out right now!" Maisie's shrill voice snapped me back to reality. The man ignored her and turned to look at the Roffe patriarch instead. His tone was cold. "You don't deserve to know my name."The patriarch trembled all over, his lips moving in a whisper. "He's got a white light surrounding his body, and such overwhelming power... Could he be…""Hmph."With a snort, the man's aura exploded. The pressure alone crushed the patriarch to his knees."I saw everything that happ
