Chapter 2
Alexis Damn, old pervert! What's his purpose, and why is he interfering with my nightlife too? There are countless bodyguards scattered all over the mansion. I can't even swim in the pool. Damn him! "Alexis, dinner is ready. Your mom says to come down now," said Yaya Loring. How can you even eat there with bodyguards watching your every move? What can I do? It's been three days since I've had a nightlife. I miss the noise, the music, and of course, the drinks with my bebe, Rond. He's been texting me nonstop, and he's available tonight. I still haven't told him about my arranged marriage. Let me think of a way. Hmmm... Then, ting! An idea popped into my mind. I slowly made my way downstairs to the kitchen, pretending to get a drink of water. My target? Jasmine, Yaya Loring's daughter. I quickly pulled her into the restroom. She was startled, but I signaled her to be quiet. Fortunately, she understood. And inside the restroom, a mysterious transaction took place! Well, it's obvious, isn't it? I swapped clothes with Jasmine and took her eyeglasses too. I gave her 5,000 pesos to buy new ones. I successfully made it out of the mansion and headed straight to see bebe Rond. When I arrived at the club, I changed into a new outfit. Luckily, his friend had an extra dress. Debbie wasn't around today, as she didn't want to disturb my "baby time". She's a kind and supportive friend. "Bebe, I miss you," Rond said, embracing me. I hugged him back. I missed my baby too! He smells so good, fresh from a bath. I, on the other hand, smell awful! In my rush to escape, I didn't get a chance to shower. No big deal, though - I showered yesterday. "I miss you too, baby..." My voice was all squeaky, like a duck. Whatever! "Let's party tonight, bebe!" Rond exclaimed, pulling me onto the dance floor. I'm going to dance my heart out! Rond is a great dancer. We're a perfect match on the dance floor. We're currently dancing to "The Time of My Life." Luckily, my dress matches perfectly. The crowd around us is applauding, and we're killing it with our dirty dancing skills! I almost threw my back out, but I'm just going with it - I guess I'm flexible! That's it, I've finally shaken off the stress from that annoying Zac. Dancing is one of the best remedies for releasing pent-up anger. As Bebe Rond and I were drinking, a crazy idea popped into my head. Or should I say, a wicked plan? I've had enough already. The thought alone is hilarious. But seriously, I don't want to go back to the mansion; I'll stow away! "Bebe, let's elope – right now!" I said seriously. Rond, who was sipping his beer, nearly spat it out when he heard me. I was tempted to laugh, but I'm serious. "Are you serious? What's gotten into you, Bebe?" Rond asked, incredulous I skipped dinner and ran away! "I'm serious: my parents arranged a marriage for me with an old man!" I replied. Rond's only reaction was to burst out laughing. "What's so funny?" I asked, exasperated. "I'm dead serious, Bebe. Marry me now, or my beauty will be wasted on that old, ugly man." I was on the verge of tears, but Rond just couldn't stop laughing. Finally, he snapped out of it and turned serious. This guy can be clueless sometimes. But he loves me so much! "Don't worry, Bebe, I won't let it happen. You're mine and mine alone," he said, his eyes burning with intensity. I lost all control and grabbed Bebe, kissing him passionately. It was the perfect reward. And judging by his dreamy expression, he was in absolute heaven! We were walking hand in hand to the parking lot when suddenly, shadows emerged! Zac's goons - or rather, bodyguards. But they looked like a group of mafia gang members, their serious faces and mustaches making them appear even more intimidating. To put it simply, they were terrifying! Our romantic moment suddenly turned into a horror movie. Rond wrapped his arms tightly around me. "Ma'am Alexis, Sir Zac wants you to go home," one of them said. I had to admit, these tough-looking guys were surprisingly polite. Mo But I'm a stowaway! Why would I go home? Never, Zac! "I refuse to go home. I'll be homeless before I obey! You can't make me!" Yeah, right. I was talking tough, but, honestly, I am terrified and shaking now. "Ma'am, we'd rather not force you if possible. However, we have direct orders from the head bodyguard to bring you home, no matter what." Wow! He spoke perfect English! And I have to admit, I was impressed. She's just like Mommy - calm and composed, with a serene expression. I wonder how he'd look when angry? Snap out of it, Alexis! Focus. What do you care if he gets mad or not? Look at the situation: you're caught, girl! And you're going to marry Zac now. I was about to respond when Rond suddenly stepped in front, shielding me. Aw, my Bebe is so sweet! He's protecting me. But this is real life, and I don't want anything to happen to him. I stepped out from behind him – and that's when I saw the guns pointed at us! "Stop it! I'm coming with you." Let's be serious for a moment, girl—I don't want my beauty to get shot. But Rond restrained me. "Don't!" he exclaimed. "Are you going to marry that old man?" What am I supposed to choose? Getting shot? "Bebe, let's calm down and think. There's a solution to this too. For now, let's just separate, okay? We'll get through this," I assure him, gently caressing his handsome face. Fortunately, I was able to calm him down. He can be stubborn sometimes, and who knows what he might do? Before joining Zac's bodyguards, I gave my Bebe a goodbye kiss. Deal with it, bodyguards! I wanted to assure him that I'm here for him, that we'll fight for our love. Then, we shared a passionate one-minute kiss. Wait a bit, bodyguards... haha! I left Bebe looking sad... Hold on, Rond. I have no intention of marrying that despicable Zac. If I ever do get married, it will be to you, Bebe. ******************* I'm back in this gloomy mansion, feeling uncertain. I don't know the real reason behind all this. Why is Daddy rushing me to marry that old man? Whenever I ask if there's a problem with the company, they don't give me a straight answer. Next week, there's even an engagement party. It's going to be a national announcement about our upcoming wedding. I'm sure it'll be trending in the business world. After all, both our families are incredibly wealthy and influential. Is this what my dad is after? The power and the money? Don't bother asking, it's obvious, isn't it? My phone suddenly rang. What a mood killer! The number was unknown. Who could this be? Calling at the crack of dawn! Answer your phone to find out, sometimes you're so clueless, Alexis. Shut up, Brain, stop it! I think I'm going crazy! "Hello?" I asked. And all I heard was a deep, drawn-out breath. What is this, some kind of horror movie? "Hello! Who is this? If you're trying to freak me out, you're not succeeding. I'm getting annoyed. So, stop calling me!" I was about to press the end call button when the person on the other line suddenly spoke up. "Just don't do it again..." Oh, that voice. It sends shivers down my spine! His voice is full of authority and power, and it's unnerving me in a way I don't understand. "Do what? And who are you, anyway? To talk to me like that?" I'm not going to back down. I have a feeling about who's on the other line, but I want to make sure it's him that I'm talking to. "Baby, this is your fiancé. Zac Rogen Walker," his voice alone sounds so handsome. But don't think you can fool me! You're an old, ugly man! "I'm not your baby! And I'll never marry you, not even over my dead body!" I'm just cursing him out, but to be honest, I'm getting scared! "He just chuckled and let out a small laugh. 'You're funny! Is your body, that beautiful?" he asked. This ugly is really something. Has he seen my perfect body? His question was laced with sarcasm. "Oh yeah? Are you handsome or something? You're the ugly one!" I shot back, refusing to back down. He laughs again. He's even crazier than I thought. "We'll be meeting soon... You are my bride, and that's final," he replied with an authoritative voice. I shuddered. Am I hopeless now? Am I going to be trapped with this old, ugly man? Just the thought of it is suffocating me. Go to hell, Zac!Chapter 42AlexisI was lost in thought as Zac and I rode to the reception. Couldn't believe he'd proposed! I wanted to scream with excitement, but I restrained myself, not wanting to seem too eager. Though, honestly, I was thrilled. My inner voice chimed in, "Girl, you really do want him!" I mentally told myself to calm down."Are you tired?" Zac asked, concern etched on his face. "A little," I replied, trying to play it cool. Pretending fatigue wasn't my forte."Come here," Zac said, pulling me close to his chest. I leaned into him, feeling a bit breathless. My inner voice warned me to breathe, fearing I'd pass out. "Girl, breathe! You'll die for sure!" I mentally cautioned myself, worried Zac might think I'd lost my mind.I closed my eyes, but I still wasn't comfortable – his armpit is still the coziest spot! "Zac, can I face you?" I asked softly. "Don't you want to sleep?" he replied, sounding puzzled. "I like it, but... how do I say this?" I trailed off, feeling a bi
Chapter 41Third Person POVThis was it - the wedding day Debbie had been waiting for. She looked stunning in her gown and makeup, but beneath the surface, she was questioning her readiness to become a Mafia Queen. It wasn't just a joke; the recent shootout still haunted her, and she knew she'd never forget it. Now, she was about to enter a new chapter of her life, one where violence and danger were a way of life - Hector's world. What choice did she have? She loved him more than anything, and the thought of living without him was unbearable. She was willing to face whatever came her way, no matter the cost.In a few minutes, she'd become the Mafia Queen of Spain - a title that came with immense responsibility. But she'd do it all for Hector. She'd face any challenge, endure any hardship, as long as she had him by her side. For her beloved, she'd do whatever it took."A penny for your thoughts?" Alexis asked with a smile, noticing Debbie's distant gaze. Debbie jumped, her min
Chapter 40AlexisIf that devil woman's part of the Mafia, she'd probably get even more arrogant. She's so cocky, I hate her! Finally, I'm dressed, and I look stunning. That witch can't even compare to my beauty – not even my ass. Ugh, she thinks she's pretty, but she's actually ugly. This woman's ruining my day. Calm down, Alexis – it's your best friend's wedding photoshoot. Let Annalise think she's got the upper hand for now. Then, surprise her with one strike.Brain, you're right! I'm stunning and sexy in this golden dress – yes, you heard that right, girls! I'm not sure why Debbie chose this theme, but the gold accents are sparkling, and it looks luxurious. My feet still hurt, especially in these high heels – they're like glass slippers, but golden yellow. I should just wear a yellow bra and panties to match – perfect! The photoshoot has started, and Debbie looks stunning – her eyes are sparkling, and she's radiating happiness. Note to girls: her wedding gown has subtle go
Chapter 39AlexisI woke up to find Zac wasn't beside me. Where's that infuriating man now? His mood shifted so suddenly - he didn't even ask for an explanation, just assumed I'm still in love with my ex? What even is that? So frustrating! When I went downstairs, everyone was ready to go. "What's the plan for today?" I asked, confused. "Girl, didn't Zac tell you we have a wedding photoshoot today?" Debbie asked, surprised. "No, he didn't. Where is he, anyway?" I asked, still annoyed."He's already headed to the venue. I can sense something's off, besh. What happened? You guys were so sweet yesterday, and now it seems like you're fighting?" Debbie asked, curiosity getting the better of her. "I don't know, that guy's clueless!" I said, storming out of the gate ahead of her. I didn't feel like eating, and I definitely didn't want to tag along. It hurt that he didn't even wake me up. Why did it hurt so much? Was I... falling for him? Ugh, shut up, brain! Not now.Why did we have
Chapter 38AlexisI fell asleep in Zac's arms, and to make matters worse, I drooled all over him. How embarrassing. When I opened my eyes, the plane is empty! Where did everyone go? And Zac is still sleeping? I quickly wiped away my drool, relieved that he didn't see it. I touched his face, lightly slapping his handsome features. "Zac, wake up!" I said. But he just groaned and pulled me back into a hug. What's wrong with me? My face is burning, and my whole body too! Gosh, don't tempt me, Zac! I tried to pull away, but his grip on me was tight. Where are the staff? There's no single person around. It's just the two of us.Where are Debbie and Lara? My friends left me behind, of course – they're probably with their boyfriends. Hey, shut up, brain! Stop it!I patted Zac's face again. Should I tap him harder? Maybe that'll wake him up. But why is it so unfair? He looks so handsome even when he's sleeping! He doesn't even drool. I'm the ugly one, huhu. "Zac, hey! Wake up. T
Chapter 37AlexisIt feels like just yesterday when my family flew to Italy. It was just last week, but I'm already missing them so much. Grandpa often calls and video calls, and so do Mommy and Daddy. The only thing is, I'm not used to Mommy's new look – fierce but she still looks stunning! And Daddy, being the tough Tiger he is, has clearly been whipped by Mom, the Lion – haha! And this time, we're the ones flying to Spain. Yes, it's Debbie's wedding! They seem to be in a hurry. All of Hector's family will be there, and you know he's a Mafia King. Here we go again with the Mafia thing. My best friend Debbie will be a Mafia Queen now, and apparently, she's really into it. She loves Hector so much that she's willing to take the risk, mafia or not. I'm really impressed with my best friend, and I'm happy for her – I hope this happy ending lasts. Hector is accepted by Debbie's family because she's their only child, and a spoiled brat, just like me.We're both a bit dramatic and
Chapter 36AlexisThis is it – we were all at the airport, and it was time to say goodbye to my family. I felt an overwhelming sadness wash over me. I'd been crying in the car earlier, clinging to Mommy as we hugged tightly. I will miss her, and Daddy too, despite his constant scolding. And Grandpa... who would cook chicken soup and call me "little princess?"The thought of living without them, even though I can still see them, is unbearable. I don't think I can handle it."Shh, show them you can do it. Don't show them you're weak. They'll just worry more," Zac whispered, holding me close. Thankfully, his amnesia had brought out this side of him, and I had him to lean on now. He'd been my rock these days, always there for me and being sweet. But what would happen when the real Zac returned? Would he still be sweet to me? Probably, but as a friend and little sister, not as...more. Why was I even thinking about that now? Don't get too attached, Alexis! Shut up, brain, you're a
Chapter 35AlexisFinally, Zac was discharged from the hospital. Mom had calmed down a bit after her tantrums towards him. Now, we're at our mansion, where Mommy and Daddy are hosting a despidida party. I didn't want to attend, but Mom and Debbie encouraged me. Lara's also here, so our group is complete, except for the traitor Joanna. She got her revenge on me, but I still hope karma catches up to her. They're all having a great time, and it's lovely to see them so happy. We're having a barbecue party in our heart-shaped pool. Grandpa's happily jumping around in the water, while Mommy and Daddy are sweetly eating together at the table. I wish I could have a love life like my parents.Mom wouldn't let Lara go, and they were chatting away - I'm not sure what they're talking about, but good luck to Lara with Mom's antics! Dad was shaking his head, watching them. The real highlight is Hector and Debbie, they're so sweet, it's like they're glued together. I'm happy for my friend,
Chapter 34AlexisI felt embarrassed about that! Debbie is silly! Zac's facial expression is unreadable. I quickly stood up and pulled Debbie outside. "Zac, we're just going to get some fresh air outside, okay?" I said, taking my leave. "Go ahead," he replied curtly. But Debbie slipped out of my grasp."Wait a minute, girl," she quickly walked over to Hector. And kissed his lips! Debbie, you're so shameless. Zac seemed unfazed, so I looked away, trying to avoid the awkwardness. "We're stepping out for a bit, babe," Debbie said sweetly, after devouring, I mean, kissing Hector's lips. "Take care," he replied and gently held her face."Ahem! We're just going outside, not to Canada, haha. Let's go!" I pulled Debbie away. Meanwhile, the two of them were still gazing lovingly at each other. Good grief, some people just have all the luck. But I am happy that my friend has finally found her soulmate. What about me? Not Rond. He was already with his demonic fiancée. I felt an ove
