Chapter Fourteen
Rage was all over Viktors face as he looked at the man holding me and then back to me. "Are you okay, Brenna?" he said through gritted teeth.
I couldn't nod I couldn't do anything. I was stuck in the shell of my body. Not knowing what even put me in that state, but I assume its due to the ass hats on this side of the room.
"Oh, come now, Viktor. You should know well enough that I would do no such thing as to harm my beautiful future Queen."
That's when it all clicked. This was Dimitri. This was the man responsible for my parents death and here I was at his mercy. My only hope would be that Viktor has some type of plan to get me out of this situation. Well actually US out of this situation. Hating that he is now involved and could be at risk of harm, but happy that he showed at what may have been the perfect time. Since it seems they were on the verge of kidnapping me.
Practically growling Viktor replies "She will never be your Queen, Dimitri!! Never

Bracing myself for what seemed to be a fight. Viktor stomped over to our table as I pulled my hands from Dimitri. Dimitri looked a little surprised, but he also looked like he understood."YOU don't touch her!!" Viktor snarled."I wasn't doing anything that she didn't allow. She pulled me in closer and bent down to my ear. He was at my side in a flash. Lifting me up and into his arms where I was instantly wrapped up and carried over to a chair, but he didn't just simply sit me down. He sat down with me in his lap. Not really having the energy to fight it at the moment. And besides it actually felt really nice. He radiated such a warm heat that melted away some of the stress that was wrecking havoc on my body.Ogre was standing in the doorway looking equally furious. "Where is she?" Waking slowly, struggling to open my eyes. I shifted where I was laying and noticed that I was on my new bed and across the room Viktor was seated in a corner watching over me. It was like he flipped a switch. We were hot and heavy and then I shut it down and he turned cold. Which yeah, I haven't know him that long, but that shut down sucked out all humor all that I know about him. Which is nice, sweet, approachable. But no, his eyes even appeared darker. Like a shadow came over his soul and a storm cloud over the person I knew. And then just like that he took a moment to collect himself and he just turns to me and smiles his normal smile.
