Nathan’s POV

Suddenly, I heard screams of pain coming from everyone except Erica and me, something or someone else was in the room with us.

The darkness was suffocating, and I couldn't see my hand in front of my face. I reached out, trying to find Erica.

“What the hell is going on?” I heard her yell.

"Erica, grab my hand!" I yelled above the chaos.

I felt her hand grasp mine, and I pulled her close. "We need to get out of here, now!"

We stumbled forward, trying to find a way out. But every step we took led us deeper into the darkness. I tried to steady my mind, to recall the mapping of this house, I used to have it at the back of my mind when we were kids.

I maneuvered my way to the hallway, trying to locate a way out through the back.

Suddenly, a hand grabbed mine, and I felt a surge of fear.

"Get off me!" I growled, trying to pull away.

"Please, you have to trust me," a soft voice whispered. "I'm here to help."
