CHAPTER FORTY Six – The Exhibition

Stella’s POV

I barely slept.

Every time I closed my eyes, I saw my mother’s face.

Then I saw the necklace resting around her neck.

Then I heard my father’s voice telling me it would be displayed at the exhibition.

By the time the first rays of sunlight slipped through my bedroom window, I was already awake.

I sat on the edge of my bed for a long time, holding the old photograph in my hands.

My thumb gently brushed over my mother’s smiling face.

  • My Plus-Sized Hockey Luna   The Challenge

CHAPTER SIXTY Two – The ChallengeStella’s POVThe closer the championship got, the harder training became.Every day, the arena felt different. There was no more time for mistakes. No more time for excuses.Everyone knew what was coming. The National Championship was not just another competition. It was the moment every player had been preparing for.For some of us, it was a chance to prove ourselves. For others, it was a chance to protect the reputation we had built. For me…It was a chance to remember who I was.I had spent too much time thinking about everything except hockey.I had allowed my pain to become louder than my passion. But every time I stepped onto the ice now, I reminded myself of one thing.I was here because I loved this game. Not because of Jaxon, not because of Amber, not because I needed anyone to choose me.I was here because I chose myself.I tightened the laces on my skates and looked across the rink. The team was already gathered.Coach stood in front of eve

  • My Plus-Sized Hockey Luna   The Reason She Left

CHAPTER SIXTY One – The Reason She LeftJaxon’s POVI stayed in the hallway long after Stella disappeared.I could still hear her voice. You really don’t know why I can’t look at you the same way anymore. Those words kept repeating in my head.I had expected anger.I had expected her to blame me.But what I did not expect was the sadness in her eyes.Stella was not fighting with me.She was tired. And somehow, that felt worse.I had seen Stella angry before.I had seen her frustrated during training.I had seen her annoyed when things did not go the way she wanted. But this was different. She looked like someone who had already accepted that something was broken.I ran my hand through my hair and looked toward the empty hallway.“What did I do?”The question left my mouth quietly.I honestly did not know.I had spent the entire day trying to understand her.I had searched for her when she left.I had gone to the hostel because I was worried.I had tried to talk to her.But every time

  • My Plus-Sized Hockey Luna   You Have No Right

CHAPTER FIFTY-NINE – You Have No RightStella’s POVI thought leaving the arena would make things easier.I thought if I kept my distance, if I stopped having unnecessary conversations, and if I focused only on hockey, the pain would slowly disappear. But it was not that simple. Some wounds did not disappear just because you ignored them. They stayed, they followed you.And sometimes, the person who caused the pain was the same person who made you remember it.I walked through the hallway with my hockey bag over my shoulder, keeping my eyes forward.I already knew he was there before I saw him.Jaxon. Standing near the exit, waiting.I stopped walking when I saw him.For a few seconds, neither of us said anything. There was a time when seeing him waiting for me would have made me smile. Now, it only made my heart feel heavy. “Stella.”His voice was quiet.I looked at him but did not say anything. He stepped closer. “You’ve been avoiding me.”My fingers tightened around the strap of my

  • My Plus-Sized Hockey Luna   What I Heard

CHAPTER FIFTY-EIGHT – What I HeardStella’s POVI thought leaving the arena would make me feel better.I thought once I stepped away from the ice, the noise in my head would finally become quiet. But it didn’t.Adrian’s words kept coming back to me.The ice knows when you are lying.I hated how true those words felt. For days, I had been pretending that I was fine.I told everyone I was okay.I told myself I was okay. But maybe I wasn’t.Maybe I was just tired of feeling hurt.I adjusted the strap of my hockey bag on my shoulder and walked through the hallway of the arena. Most of the players had already left. The noise from training had disappeared, leaving only the quiet sound of my footsteps. For the first time in a long time, I didn’t feel completely lost.Adrian had not asked me about my problems. He had not forced me to explain why I looked unhappy. He had only talked about hockey. And somehow, that helped.I reached the corner near the storage rooms when I heard voices.I stopp

  • My Plus-Sized Hockey Luna   Finding Myself

CHAPTER FIFTY Eight– Finding MyselfStella’s POVThe arena felt different.I noticed it the moment I stepped onto the ice.Usually, training started with laughter, small conversations, and players complaining about how early they had to wake up.Today was different.Everyone was quiet.Everyone was focused.Everyone was aware that Adrian Vale was watching.I tightened my grip on my hockey stick and looked across the rink.Adrian stood near the boards with Coach, observing the team.He was not saying much, he did not need to.His presence alone was enough to make everyone work harder.Since he arrived, the entire team had changed. The drills were harder. The expectations were higher.Every mistake was noticed.Every weakness was exposed. Some players complained that he was too strict, but nobody could deny that he knew exactly what he was doing. He had spent years playing at the highest level. He knew what it took to win.The whistle blew.“Everyone on the ice,” Coach called. We immedi

  • My Plus-Sized Hockey Luna   The New Instructor

CHAPTER FIFTY Seven– The New InstructorStella’s POVThe days after the exhibition felt different. Not because anything had changed around me.The arena was still the same. The ice was still the same. The sound of skates moving across the rink was still the same. But I felt different.I no longer walked into the arena expecting things to return to the way they were before.I no longer looked around hoping to see Jaxon waiting for me.I had created a distance between us, and even though it hurt, I reminded myself every day why I had done it.Some things were too painful to pretend they did not happen. After everything that happened at the auction, I needed to focus on myself.I needed to remember who I was before all of this.A hockey player. Not someone’s replacement. Not someone standing in another person’s place.Just Stella.I arrived at training earlier than usual. The arena was quiet.Only a few players were already there, stretching and preparing their equipment.I placed my bag
