Chloe was wearing an apron. She'd come to the kitchen to make breakfast, but when she got there, she found Mia already up and mumbling something to herself in the kitchen while making breakfast.

- Oh, it's nothing.

Mia told her, not daring to meet her eyes.

- Where are the eggs? asked Mia.

- In the fridge.

Chloe opened the fridge and found that the eggs were gone. She turned around to see them placed next to the sink.

- They're not there, next to you?

- Are they?

Mia turned to see the eggs on the counter and remembered that she'd already taken them out. She'd tried to divert the subject and had failed miserably. She smiled, embarrassed, saying:

- I forgot!

Chloe smiled too, as if she understood what she was hiding. However, she said nothing.

She came closer and said:

- Let me help you. Tell me what the kids like to eat, and I'll do it for them.

- They're not squeamish.

Mia beat the eggs together, preparing to make steamed eggs. She'd lived here for a few days and knew Chloe's skills.
