Chapter 52 No Awakening

The Highland is in a dismal condition. Although the Alpha hasn't lost his imposing aura, he seems to be low in spirit.

"Trackers spotted an army of rogues" Nuallan spoke the instant Kieran reached his side.

"How long?" Kieran muttered.

"Two to three days. They will cross the border" Nuallan replied.

Eerie silence ruled as the men stared at the dark forest with grim faces. Rieka will be ready, but an attack is still an attack. Lives will be lost not just of the enemies but Rieka's.

"The women and children?" Kieran calmly asked.

"Elderlies and small children are already in the cellar" Viddar replied.

"Food is ample for a week"

"How about Narrah?" Viddar asked.

"Bed has been prepared at the cellar for her" Nuallan replied while turning to look at Kieran.

"I will bring her if it's time" Kieran muttered, dismissing the topic.

"Bring me the healers" he added without averting his gaze from the forest across the vast clearing.
