Author: The Evil Villain
After the director finally called “cut,” Whitney Lockwood slipped into Yarden Stein’s outfit and walked toward me unsteadily.

Under her sweat-dampened clothes, bruises from their earlier scene were clearly visible.

“Yale, Yarden is just a rookie. He couldn’t get into character, and he ended up wasting time. I don’t want this scene to ruin tomorrow’s wedding.”

“Wedding?” I scoffed. “You know the wedding is tomorrow, yet you did it for real with someone else today?”

Whitney stepped right into my arms. “Don’t be mad. Even when I was with him, all I could think about was you.”

“But didn’t you just say being with me feels so good you could die?” Yarden’s voice came from the side.

He wore only a towel. The red marks on his upper body practically seemed to flaunt themselves.

“Yale, Whitney is incredible. You’ve never had a chance with her, and honestly… It’s such a waste.”

“Yarden!” Whitney’s face flushed bright red. She grabbed a shirt and tossed it at him. “That’s a line from the script!”

Yarden laughed and picked it up. He raised a smug eyebrow at me.

“Yale, you know that, right? That scene wasn’t even in the original script.”

Watching them like this made my stomach churn.

Everyone knew how madly I loved Whitney.

For five years, I had used every resource I had as the richest man in the country to push her to the top and make her an award-winning actress.

Even when she mentioned wanting to make her childhood friend Yarden famous, I gave him every resource and favor I could.

No one could point to a single thing I had done for Whitney and find fault with it.

Even my own family told me I was putting in too much effort for an actress.

However, I never expected her to treat me like this. Who exactly did she think I was?

“Honey… Yarden’s still young and careless with his words. Don’t take it to heart.”

She leaned in for a kiss. It was her usual trick to calm me down.

This time, I instinctively pulled away and pushed her back.

Whitney froze. Her face flushed bright red, and her tone turned cold.

“I only did this so our wedding could go on as planned! If this scene drags on all night, how can we get married tomorrow?”

I looked at her self-righteous face and sneered.

“Get married? You cheated before the wedding, and you actually expect me to go through with it?”

“Whitney! That was an incredible performance!” The director’s voice cut me off.

As soon as he saw me, his face lit up with a fawning, eager smile.

“It’s all thanks to Mr. Foster’s coaching. I wouldn’t even know how to direct a scene like that with her.”

“What does he have to do with it?” Yarden raised an eyebrow and said mockingly.

“This was Whitney’s first time. Isn’t it all thanks to my skills?”

The set fell completely silent.

The director looked embarrassed. He stammered as he tried to smooth things over.

“Young people are proud. Mr. Foster, don’t take it personally. Whitney was just sacrificing herself for her art. You wouldn’t understand. It happens a lot in this industry.”

I scoffed. I forced myself to stay calm as I questioned the director.

“So, changing the script just to give someone a chance to ‘sacrifice themselves for art’ is considered normal?

“Tell me, who decided to change the script?”

The director froze, as if he finally realized something. He did not dare speak and just shot Whitney a guilty glance.

I scoffed.

I suddenly lost all my strength. I did not want to bother with this bunch of schemers anymore.

I said, “Whitney, the wedding’s off. We’re done.”

With that, I turned and walked away. Whitney grabbed my arm in a panic.

“Yale, you can’t be serious! How can we not get married? You’ve always understood me before, so you have to now. Don’t say things you don’t mean. We’re supposed to get married tomorrow—”

Before she could finish, Yarden cut in angrily.

“If you’re not getting married, then fine! Whitney, let’s be honest. He’s just a businessman. He knows nothing about art. Why are you marrying a man like him?”

“Yarden!”

Whitney finally snapped. Her body shook as she slapped him.

The moment the slap landed, she quickly raised her hand in apology.

“Y-Yarden… I’m sorry, I—”

Yarden covered his face in disbelief. “Whitney! You actually hit me over some money-grubbing man?”

Then, he turned to glare at me with even more fury.

“Yale! I’ll remember this slap! Just you wait!”

He deliberately knocked over a nearby camera. The crew gasped. Eyes red with anger, he stormed out and slammed the door behind him.

After I finished speaking, I did not look at Whitney’s face. She was filled with utter despair.I turned and walked out without looking back.“Yale! You can’t leave!”Whitney found the last of her strength and grabbed my legs. “I was wrong! I really was wrong! Think about our past! Five years! How can you be so cruel?”Her cries were sharp and heart-wrenching. “It’s all my fault! I was blind! I didn’t know how to cherish you! Just give me one more chance! Just one! “I promise I’ll cut ties with Yarden completely! I’ll do whatever you say! I’ll stop acting! I’ll go home and have your children! Yale! Please! Don’t leave me!”Her pleas echoed across the empty set. They sounded pitiful and tragic. If this were the past, I might have softened. However, my heart was as hard as stone.I pried her hands off me, one finger at a time. It felt like tearing apart the illusions of the past five years that I had built for myself.“Whitney, it’s too late.”I stepped forward and walked

Now, you’re blaming me for everything?”“That’s nonsense! It’s you! You’re a loser! You used me and my money, and now you want to destroy me!” Whitney yelled.“Destroy you? If you hadn’t given me opportunities, do you think I’d ever have glanced at trash like you? Do you think you’re clean? Before Mr. Foster, didn’t you have plenty of sugar daddies?”Yarden’s face twisted with anger. Harsh words spilled from his mouth. They fought like wild dogs in the street. Neither had any dignity left. The people who had once admired them watched in shock, disgust, and amusement.Whitney seemed cut to the bone by Yarden’s words. Whitney shook her head and stepped back, as if she could run away from reality. “I’m an award-winning actress. I have so many fans. I have so many contracts. They can’t get rid of me. Yale, you won’t scare me.”Grasping at her last hope, she suddenly stopped and planted her feet. Her eyes turned sharp. “Yes. You can’t blacklist me. People like me have clout. Those who have money and those who are in power only care about my value.“No matter how powerful the Foster family is, they can’t control everything. I’m calling Mr. Carter right now. He has been trying to sign me for a long time.”She started searching through her contacts. I laughed and did not stop her.As expected, the moment she called, a cold and polite voice answered. “Oh, Ms. Lockwood. We just had a meeting. We feel your image doesn’t match our future plans. Let’s forget about the movie contract we discussed. Your endorsement for our skincare line has also ended. We won’t renew it. We wish you the best.”The cal

Whitney’s and Yarden’s phones slipped from their hands at the same time and hit the floor with a dull thud.Their faces froze instantly. Whitney’s arrogance was gone, and Yarden’s fake guilt vanished.“Canceled? Her fingers trembled as she swiped the screen. She tried to find the trending topic she had just ignored.Yarden panicked too. He stopped pretending and rushed over to Whitney. His face was almost pressed up against her phone screen.“This can’t be… How is this possible?”Whitney’s voice grew sharp, and it trembled with disbelief.“Yale! What did you do? How dare you blacklist me? Do you know how hard it has been for me to get this far?”Her head snapped up. Her bloodshot eyes were fixed on me.There was no trace of the flicker of guilt or pity from before.“How dare I?”I stood up slowly. Blood from my

My heart clenched. The bracelet in Whitney’s raised hand wobbled. It looked like it could fall at any moment.I gritted my teeth and spoke each word through my clenched jaw.“Whitney, that bracelet is the token passed down to the wives of the Foster family. Have you ever considered the consequences of something bad happening to it?”“What of it? You’re the one who did something wrong! If you just do what I say, the bracelet will be fine!”Whitney looked completely unconcerned. She even sounded a little impatient. She hooked the bracelet with her finger and started spinning it. My heart was in my throat.“Fine.
