Kai.

The hallway buzzed louder than usual.

Streamers in raven black and deep silver hung from the ceiling, and banners with bold block letters shouted “GO RAVENS” across every corridor. I walked with Ryder at my side, both of us still in our training jackets. I could feel eyes following us, voices whispering behind their hands, and the occasional brave student stepping forward.

“Good luck Friday, Kai!” someone called from near the lockers.

“Crush them!” another added, her voice almost giddy.

“Thanks,” I said with a smirk, raising two fingers in a lazy salute. I lived for this. The attention, the pressure, the weight of the jersey on my back. It was all a reminder of who I was, Kai Blackthorn, future Alpha of Ravencrest, and captain of the team everyone expected to win.

Ryder just kept walking like he couldn’t be bothered.

“You could at least wave,” I said, nudging his arm. “You're the co-captain of the team too and my future Beta. You don't have to be stuck up all the time.”

“I could c

  • My Quarterback Alpha   Chapter 47

Aria.I was going to kill him.Thirty whole minutes. That was how long I’d been sitting in the library, waiting like an idiot. My books had already been laid out, notes highlighted, pages bookmarked. I even sharpened my pencil twice. And yet, no Kai Blackthorn.“Meet at the usual spot for lessons today.” I had told him earlier during lunch. He had said, clear as day, “Right after practice, I’ll be there.”Liar.I glanced at the clock again, my foot tapping impatiently under the table. Thirty-two minutes now. I huffed, slamming my book shut and picking up my bag. Of course he would pull something like this. Probably thought it was hilarious to leave me sitting and stewing. Typical Alpha behavior. As I unzipped my bag to stuff the books back inside, my hand brushed against soft fabric. I paused, pulling it out. That ridiculous fan merch shirt. Black. His picture. His bright blue eyes and blonde hair caught in the sun as he stood in the field.“Kai Blackthorn No.1 Fan.” written across i

  • My Quarterback Alpha   Chapter 45

Aria. The air felt different this morning. There was a buzz in the halls, a kind of low thrum of excitement that seemed to wrap around the school like static. As Lila and I stepped through the front doors, hand in hand, I immediately noticed the change. The school was decorated from floor to ceiling. Banners stretched across the corridors, bold and proud in black and blue with letters that screamed "NATIONAL ALPHA’S CUP — GO RAVENS!" The Ravencrest logo, a sharp raven beside a wolf’s head within a black shield behind it, was everywhere. On the walls, the windows, even the floor tiles. Students moved around us with scarves tied proudly around their necks, black with silver stitching that shimmered when the light caught them. A few wore football headbands, tugging them down over their brows with pride. Some were humming, others chanting low versions of the Ravens’ chant that I’d never heard before. It was like walking into a different world. Like suddenly, everyone had remembered they

  • My Quarterback Alpha   Chapter 44

AriaThe wind bit at my skin, cold and sharp as I stood beneath the towering trees just beyond the edge of the hall. The further I got, the harder it became to breathe. My lungs burned, but not from the run. From the ache in my chest. From everything I had swallowed down since stepping into that place.“Aria!” His voice followed me again. Closer now.I stiffened but didn’t turn.“Aria, please.”I turned around slowly. My heart thudded against my ribs, not just from the cold but from the heat of everything boiling inside me. Kai stood a few feet away, his chest rising and falling, cheeks flushed from chasing after me.“What do you want, Kai?” My voice cracked. “Haven’t you taken enough?”His face twitched in confusion. “Aria, I—”“You already stole so much from me,” I snapped. “Your family humiliated us like we were trash tonight. Do you know what that felt like? Being paraded like we were some... some poor little strays that Ravencrest kindly decided to take in. Do you know what that d

  • My Quarterback Alpha   Chapter 43

AriaThe lights dimmed slowly, plunging the vast hall into a calm hush as all heads turned to the raised stage. My breath caught in my throat when Alpha Magnus Blackthorn stepped forward, tall and commanding, wearing a dark suit that seemed to absorb the light. He was power personified. Standing just to his right, Kai looked like a shadow of that same authority, sharper, younger, and terrifyingly poised.Beta Adric Hale, who stood slightly below the alpha, his cold gaze sweeping the crowd with sharp precision. Ryder stood beside Kai on the opposite platform, his face as blank and unreadable as everAlpha Magnus Blackthorn stepped up to the mic, his voice steady and resonant."Good evening, Ravencrest," he said, sweeping his gaze over the gathered wolves. His presence alone was enough to silence a room. "Tonight marks an important moment. Not just for our pack, but for the future we are building together."He paused, letting the weight of his words settle before gesturing slightly to Ka

AriaMaya handed me a glass of lemonade just as a sudden chill spread through the air. It was subtle, like the kind of cold that makes the tiny hairs on your arms stand straight. She turned sharply, eyes narrowing.“What is it?” I asked, my voice quiet as I looked around the room.“Beta Adric Hale. Ryder’s family is here.” she said, and I didn’t miss the way her tone shifted. There was a weight to his name, and I felt it settle in the pit of my stomach.I followed her gaze and saw a tall man enter the hall. He looked like he had been carved from steel, every edge sharp, every step deliberate. His black suit clung perfectly to his broad frame, and a deep scar ran along the side of his face, from temple to jaw. His eyes, cold and unreadable, swept over the crowd like he was evaluating each person’s worth. People shifted at his presence, a clear path opening without a single word spoken.Beside him was a woman, regal in her own way, though there was a tiredness in her eyes. She had auburn
