CHAPTER FIVE

MY REBOUND

DOMINEERING HUSBAND

Chapter 5.

Julie led Olivia down the stairs and to the dining table where Joel was already seated. Olivia had her eyes roaming through the walls of the living room, like she was searching for something.

As she walked down the stairs, she kept on admiring the interior deco and loved the way everything were neatly arranged. The design was a simple one but expensive tho.

She guessed Joel might be a fan of white color since almost everything had the color white. The Sofa was white, even the floor, center table and also the chandelier!.

She didn't get enough chance to admire the building yesterday cause Joel had to take her up the room.

Something was missing! Something she needed to see as proof! That is, a picture of her and Joel.

He says they're married right? Then, they should be a photo of them hanging across the wall right. Since she couldn't find any in the room, she thought she might find some at the living room. Here she is and there was nothing to display!.

He says they're couples, yet.. Whenever he kisses her, on the lips, cheeks, anywhere... Olivia always feels this emptiness inside of her. She doesn't feel anything as tho they're connected in some kind of way. In fact, she gets irritated by his kisses but always let's him gets his way since they're married.

Is that the right thing to do? Maybe she should put a stop to that since she isn't feeling anything. Maybe once he gives her the answers she needs, then she'll let him have his way.

Julie finished dishing out breakfast and left. Now, it's just Olivia and Joel left.

"Are you okay?" Joel asked making Olivia tear her gaze from whatever thing she was looking at.

"Hm!" She said with a nod.

Joel smiled and reached for her hand and squeezed it slightly. Olivia couldn't tell if it was love she saw in his eyes or something else. But it's getting a little bit cranky being around him.

"You know! I've always wanted this..! For you to be here. I'm not sure I'll ever get tired of telling you this. Now that you're here with me, I feel really complete. You mean a lot to me, Olivia!"

Olivia just stared at him. What is she supposed to say to him? She just nodded her head and looked down at the food before her.

"Let's eat" Joel said as they began to eat silently.

Even as Olivia ate, she tried thinking of ways to ask Joel the questions that have been in her mind. She kept on stealing glances at him, watching the way he ate slowly and somehow, she felt nervous.

Joel, on the other hand... Noticed the way she kept looking at him and he knew exactly what was going on. He knew she wanted to ask him about her past and he could only hope that she wouldn't ask him anything. But all his hope when down the drain as Olivia finally spoke out.

"Can I ask you something?"

Joel sighed but didn't say anything. He just kept on chewing his food like someone didn't just speak to him. Olivia waved off the fact that he just ignored her! That's just so rude to him. But one thing she doesn't understand is why the heck would he keep going silent anytime she brings up this topic. Anyways, she rephrased her question again.

"You said you were going to answer me, only when I come down for breakfast, so now I'm here and..."

"Fine, fine!! Just go ahead and ask whatever you want to ask!" Joel cuts her off rudely and scoffed loudly.

Olivia placed her cutleries down and adjusted properly on her seat, then cleared her throat.

"There's a lot I want to know! Like, who exactly I am.. Where my family is? How we got married and how I got involved in an accident. I need to know everything! How we got to know each other and how long we've been married" She said in one breath and looked at Joel but the expression on his face was unreadable.

Joel had stopped eating. His hands tightly holding the fork and his other hand clenching tightly while gritting his teeth but Olivia didn't notice all this.

"Tell me everything I need to know, Joel.. "

"Why the hell are you so inquisitive?" He gritted out, trying to calm his nerves down cos he was getting annoyed by her questions.

"I just wanna know the past! I'm clueless right now, Joel.. I don't even know who I am and I feel like I'm just leaving in an entirely different body!" Olivia said, raising her voice a bit.

Joel got fed up by her constant questions so he placed his cutleries down and sprang up, causing his food to spill over the floor.

This single act of his, startled Olivia to the core as she never expected him to react in such a way.

"What the hell do you want to know, uh? I've told you everything you need to know, then why are you still so inquisitive about your past!" He snapped angrily at her.

"I just want to know everything! I can't continue leaving in the dark" Olivia managed to speak.

"It's best if you keep leaving in the dark cause there's nothing left for you to know! Just quit asking questions!!" With that, he stormed out of the dining room and heads towards the stairs.

Olivia remained stunned as she watched him leave. She couldn't believe he actually yelled at her.

She thought they were married? Then why is he finding hard to explain things to her? What is he hiding and why is he getting angry.

He claims they're a couple and he should be doing everything to make her remember but now, it as if he doesn't want her to recover!

Is she just going to sit here and watch him avoid the conversation every single time? No! She needs answers and she's going to get it. He must explain things to her, he must let her know what happened.

"Ma'am Olivia? Is everything okay? I heard a crash from the kitchen" Julie said, rushing out of the kitchen.

"I guess everything does seem okay! It can't be okay, not when I'm clueless about everything" With that too, Olivia stood up in anger and marched towards the stairs with the intention of confronting Joel.

She got to his room and barged in, not even bothering to knock. There, she found him sitting on his bed with a laptop in front of his. She noticed he didn't even raised his head up to look at her. He just kept typing furiously on the laptop.

"We need to talk" She said, feeling surprised at her sudden boldness.

She didn't get any response from him and that infuriated her the more.

"I'm talking to you, Joel!!" She snapped. But he still wasn't giving her a reply. Olivia snatched the laptop from him, daring him even more.

Joel suck in a lot of breath and closed his eyes, trying to control his anger. This time, she was really pushing him to the wall. Why can't she just let him be?

"There's nothing for us to talk about, hand me back my laptop!" He requested.

"No! There's a lot of things for us to talk about! Whenever I ask about my past, you keep non avoiding the topic. It's like you don't want me to get better! Tell me, is that what you want? For me to remain clueless forever?" Olivia said out of anger.

"Yes! I keep avoiding the topic because it's for the best. Why the hell do you keep asking about your past! It's useless to you anyways!" Joel snapped back.

"You say we're married, yet I feel nothing between the two of us! I feel like there's an emptiness between. I feel like I don't even know you. What if you're actually a bandit? What if you're keeping me hostage.. I know you're keeping something away from me, tell what it is! I demand an explanation this instant".

"Hand me back my laptop" Joel said and reached for his laptop but Olivia wouldn't let him have it. Soon, they began to struggle and suddenly, it slipped out of their hands and fell to the floor, crashing.

Olivia gasped with widened eyes!. She took her gaze from the laptop to Joel who was already breathing heavily out of pure anger. She could see it in his eyes.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean for it to happen, I swear, I.." She stopped talking and began to gasp for breath as Joel gripped her tightly on her neck.

"I have told you times without number to stop asking questions. I am all you have and you should stick to that. You don't have anyone except from me! We're married and you should accept it, is that okay?"

He looked different, like a beast. No longer the calm Joel that normally stares at her with loving eyes.

"Can't.. can't breathe!!" Olivia tried to say cause he was actually chocking her. She's slowly running out of breath.

"Do not test my patience, Olivia.. Do not! Else, I might do something you'd regret" He warned and let go of her neck then brushed his fingers through his hair.

Olivia coughed while taking in as much air as she could. She looked at him briefly with red eyes before rushing out of his room and headed straight to hers.
