CHAPTER FOUR

MY REBOUND

DOMINEERING HUSBAND

Chapter 4.

Joel sat at his mini bar drinking from his glass of red wine. His mind was clouded with so many thoughts about Olivia. He couldn't have been any less happier that she's awake. In fact, today seemed to be the best day for him since three years.

Since Olivia went into coma, he has only been an image of himself.. Nothing seems to go well for him and he went Cold. But since the news of her waking up, he has been smiling and grinning like never before.

It felt as if a part of him came alive once again. He hasn't felt so alive for long now and all this is happening because of Olivia.

She meant everything to him. She's the reason he became cold and the reason for his smile now. But then, something keeps bugging his mind and that is the numerous questions she keeps asking.

He knows that she would keep asking more questions but what is he going to say to her! In as much as he hated the fact that she can't recall a thing, not even him.. He felt relieved that she couldn't recall anything.

Maybe it's better that way! Joel knows that sooner or later, she'll ask him about her past. About what happened and how she ended up in the hospital. But what is he going to say to her? He can't tell her the truth, not now.. not ever.

"Master!" He cocked his head to the side and glared at Julie for interrupting his thoughts.

"How is she?" He asked.

"She's fast asleep, master!"

"Hm" Joel hummed in response and sipped his wine. "Did she ask any questions? And what did you say to her?"

"Nothing, master!" Julie lied. She couldn't afford to tell Joel about the questions Olivia asked. Besides, she didn't say much things but it's better if Joel doesn't know.

Joel eyes her suspiciously for a while before waving his hands, indicating that she should leave. Julie hurriedly left to the kitchen.

He sat there for a while before finally gulping down the entire wine in the glass and stood up. He placed the bottle of wine back at it's place and made for the stairs.

He climbed up the stairs and decided to check up on Olivia. His room is directly opposite her... The reason he didn't want to take her to his room is because he wanted to give her space. He knows she's still getting used to the fact that they're married, so he wants to give her time to adjust.

He pushed the door to her room open and stepped in. The lights were turned off, only the dim blue lights were on. He stood there and watched her sleep peacefully. A faint smile appeared on his lips.

After watching her for sometime, he turned and wanted to leave but something caught his attention.

He looked at Olivia again, but this time around, she wasn't sleeping peacefully.. He noticed her turning slightly on the bed, making an uneasy movement.

He frowned and walked towards her. It looks like she was having a nightmare cause of how she kept moving her head sideways. Her eyes shut tightly and her lips kept moving as she mumbled some words.

"No, no, no..."

Joel listened carefully, confused of what to do next. He thought it was something related to her condition and if there was need to call the doctor,, maybe she's about to to fall into another coma.

"Aaaargh!!" Olivia jerked up in fright, panicking slightly.

Joel immediately held her to himself while she clinged unto him for protection. He could feel her body vibrating in fear and he wondered what the nightmare was all about.

"Ssh! It's okay! I'm here now!!" He cooed while stroking her hair gently.

"Don't leave me! Don't leave me!!" She said, her eyes still tightly closed.

"I won't!.. just go back to sleep!!"

They remained in that position for sometime until Olivia became calm. Joel looked down at her and noticed she was already asleep.

He tucked her hair behind her ears and placed a light kiss on her cheeks. He laid her properly on the bed and made to get up but he couldn't because she was holding him back.

"Don't leave me!!" She mumbled again.

Joel sighed and laid beside her, he adjusted the duvet and placed her head on his chest.

"I'm not letting you go, My heartbeat! You'll forever be mine and mine alone" He whispered and caressed her cheeks softly.

He turned off the lights and closed his eyes,, drifting off to sleep.

••. ••. ••.

The following morning!!

Olivia turned and stretched out her hands as she yawned slightly. She noticed something obstructing her hands from stretching further.

She opened her eyes to see Joel smiling down at her. She gasped loudly since she wasn't expecting Joel to be beside her. She could vividly remember going to sleep alone so how on earth did he end up beside her?

She stylishly looked down at herself and when she saw that she was still in her night lingerie, she released the breath she didn't know she was holding. For a moment, she almost thought that something might have happened between them last night.

"Good morning, My heartbeat" Joel said, leaning forward and placing a kiss on her lips.

"Did you sleep well?" He asked and She nodded, moving her hair backwards.

"How.. I didn't expect to see you here!" She asked, trying to find out why he's in her room and why they're both sharing the same bed.

"I knew you were going to ask, My heartbeat. You still haven't gotten used to the fact we're married and that's why you're trying to find out why I'm sleeping on your bed, right?" He asked.

Olivia looked away from him, while chewing on her lower lips. How did he manage to figure out what she's trying to do?

"The look on your face says it all my heartbeat!" He said and chuckled. "I wanted you to stay in a separate room untill you get acquainted with me and everything around. But you should try to get used to the fact that we're married because sooner or later,, we'll be sharing the same bed and doing everything couples do! got it?" They was a dangerous smirk playing on his lips and Olivia couldn't help but stare at him with widened eyes.

What the hell does he mean by everything couples do? Is he trying to say that they would...

Olivia mentally shakes her head negatively and pushed those thoughts away, she wouldn't want to have any weird thoughts right now.

"Oh, and to answer your question.. I came in to check up on you and met you fidgeting in fear! Guess you were having a bad dream. You woke up and asked me not to leave" He said with a shrug.

Olivia frowned. "I asked you not to leave? I was having a nightmare?" She asked back, looking really confused.

"You don't remember?" Joel asked.

"No!! I don't remember anything from last night!!" Olivia said.

Joel sighed.. "Not to worry! I guess it's just a nightmare. It happens most of the time".

Olivia nodded and then remembered she needed to ask him something.

"Can I ask you something?" She asked.

Joel kept quiet and looked directly into her eyes. He could see the curiosity in her eyes and he knew she wanted to ask questions about her past. Now he wonders why she's been so inquisitive about her past. Why can't she just let things be the way they are? Even if he goes ahead to tell her everything? Of what benefit is it to her? It's going to be useless.

"Can I?" Olivia asked, when he wasn't giving her a reply.

"Yes! But only when you freshen up and come down for breakfast!" He replied. This is the only way he could stop her from asking whatever questions she wants to ask.

"But..."

"Julie is making something really delicious and you're going to love it" He cuts her off and kissed her forehead. "Just stay on the bed and Julie would be with you shortly. Freshen up and come join me for breakfast. I want us to eat together as couples" He said and walked towards the door and heads out.

Olivia watched him leave and a deep frown appearing on her forehead. She had this nagging feeling within her that she couldn't even explain. She has noticed that he keeps on changing the topic whenever she wants to find out about her past.

Why can't he just tell her everything? Why does he keep acting like there's something he doesn't want her to find out? The way he acts seems suspicious.

But she's not going to let it slide. She's going to ask him again when she heads down for breakfast and if he doesn't give her the answer she needs, then she'll keep on asking.
