TAYLOR

I had escaped from the afterparty just because I wanted to find a way to make it up to River. I really have no excuse for my actions over the past few days, but I couldn't help myself. Now that I stand in front of her ready to apologise, the words that come out of my mouth make me wonder if I truly know myself. Why was I arguing about baseless things that did not affect our relationship?

"What is our relationship?" I ask as I put my sports bag on the floor and drop down beside it with my face to the ceiling. "What would I say is the relationship between us?" I ask as I continue to stare at the ceiling. "Roommates? Just roommates."

I close my eyes, and yet the conversation from earlier keeps replaying as though that were the only thing that could fill my mind at that time. Why did I argue with her? Why did I bring up baseless facts that were not needed? She caused this because if she had let me speak without trying to get a word in, then I am sure I would have found a way to cir

Well, Aunt G really just walked into the story and tried to ship them, didn’t she? Taylor’s back to calling her sweetheart, but is that progress or just him slipping into old habits? Tell me in the comments before I let Aunt G move in permanently and REALLY start stirring trouble. Don’t test me.

  • My Roommate is a Boy   MORE THAN PANCAKES

MORE THAN PANCAKESRIVERTaylor takes his seat back right beside me and continues to munch on his pancakes. The conversation still carried on, but I was almost sure that it lacked soul. He still retained the smirk on his face and the cocky attitude, but it was like he had been toned down."I will do the dishes," I announced as usual."I will do it," he said in a dismissive tone."I always do the dishes when you cook.""You do, but you have a date, and I do not want to keep you away from your date." It almost sounded as if he wanted me out of there as soon as possible."It's not a date but lunch, and we agreed on noon; I don't know why he is coming now," I explained. He did not argue with me but nodded and came up to the sink, took the sponge out of my hand and pushed me out."Go prepare," he said without looking in my direction. I walked to my room, shutting the door.I could not tell if it was my imagination or if Taylor did not like Javier; his mood seemed to change whenever he came

  • My Roommate is a Boy    THE COOKING CHALLENGE

TAYLOR"Don't call me that," River said almost immediately, but when I looked at her, she had a small smile she was desperately trying to cover, and I felt a bit happier that it was better. I knew I still had to apologise to her for being everything I was for the past few days."You act as if you don't like it, but I can tell that you do like it," I say, and she looks away for a moment before looking back at me."I do not like nicknames.""But I do.""I guess we are in a dilemma right now, aren't we?" I know it's funny, but why did it just feel too much like she was flirting with me? Wasn't it one of her rules not to?"We are, sweetheart, we are," I say and let the silence simmer for a while before I go on to break it. "I am sorry for these few days," I say and look up.She is standing and staring at me. She opens her mouth to speak, and they move, but I don't hear any sound. Was she not talking, or were my ears not working?"What?""I guess it's okay," she said, trying to act nonchal

  • My Roommate is a Boy    MORE THAN JUST FRIENDS

RIVERI stayed awake longer than I would have, waiting on the couch for Taylor to arrive so I could congratulate him on the game. He seemed to be staying out longer than I thought, so I got into my room, but as though he had been waiting for me to get up and leave, the moment I dropped to my bed in annoyance, the door opened, and the movement through the house was as silent as possible. I know that this is my opportunity; I can't try to miss it. So I slip out of the room and stand by the doorway, catching him before he can disappear into his room, as he has always been doing for the past few days."Hi," I say. He had heard me open the door but did not look in my direction until I spoke."Hi," he said. His response was simple and short. The way I would have expected anyone to act, just that his usual teasing smirk and way of talking were gone. I should be grateful, shouldn't I? Why was I not grateful? Why did it matter that he had changed? He stood still with his eyebrow raised in a qu

  • My Roommate is a Boy    STADIUM LIGHTS, SHADOWED HEARTS

DISCLAIMERTHIS WOULD BE THE MOST HORRIBLE DESCRIPTION OF AMERICAN FOOTBALL YOU'D EVER SEE. I WAS GOING TO USE ANOTHER SPORT, BUT I DO NOT KNOW ANY SPORTS, AND THE EMPHASIS IS ON THE FACT THAT I AM JUST A WRITER WHO SITS AT THE BACK OF A COMPUTER ALL DAY WITH NO REAL HOBBIES OR INTEREST IN ANYTHING THAT MAKES YOU SWEATY. That being said, enjoy this description with no details.RIVERThe lights of the stadium contrasted with the darkness of the night; I was even more shocked to learn that the game did not start until the sun was underneath the skies. It kind of made sense since I had failed to understand the reason why eleven grown men would be running around a field for an hour just to catch a ball.We try our best to find our seats; Lana takes the lead and finds the row without fail, almost as if she had been here before."OH MY GOODNESS!" Elise exclaimed as she took out her phone from the bag that was hanging over her shoulder and began to take photos of the surroundings."It's alre

  • My Roommate is a Boy   DINNERLESS NIGHT

RIVERJavier had insisted on my going with the cab to avoid the awkwardness that would linger if we stayed together. I agree and go in the cab. When I open the door, Taylor is standing in the kitchen, gulping down a bottle of juice. His eyes drop on me and make me a bit uncomfortable with his gaze.I step in and drop, standing still as if I were waiting for his approval to go into the room."You are early," he said after he took the bottle from his mouth."I took a cab.""I thought you were taking the bus.""Yes, I was, but I had to take a cab instead," I reply as if I were wishing he would ask me more."You seem really close with Javier. I thought you both just met." I could barely see the emotion behind his question as he now evaded my eyes by turning to throw the empty bottle into the trash bin."Let me guess, you are going to tell me why he is a bad choice and why I should stay away from him?" I do not know why I said that when I obviously did not mean it. He turned to me and clasp
