Chapter 2

Author: Anonymous
I arrived at the ceremonial hall, which was full of males from various packs. Their muscles bulged, and they radiated intense energy.

I didn't try to sabotage Rosalie as she had done to me in our past lives. Instead, I bowed gracefully and explained that something had come up, and Rosalie would be there shortly. I then asked everyone to wait patiently for her.

They smiled, expressing their understanding.

These males came to seek mates, so they went all out to impress me with their charisma. If I were as inexperienced as I used to be in my past life, I would've been swept away by their charms.

But now, only bitterness remained in my heart, and I couldn't bring myself to even smile.

I quickly caught sight of Rosalie's mate in our past lives, the future Alpha of the Stoneridge pack, Jacob. He stood out among the crowd, and he had a calm air about him.

Unlike the other males, Jacob wasn't gingerly trying to please me. Instead, he stood a distance away. If I hadn't seen the hint of amazement in his gaze as he looked at me, I would've assumed he wasn't interested in me at all.

Just then, a sweating yet elegant Rosalie arrived at the hall. A hint of surprise flashed across her eyes when she saw the hall fully occupied.

Did she think I would take the opportunity to get revenge as she would?

Rosalie said, "Sorry, everyone, but my heart is set on someone else, and I've already decided to be his mate."

When the males heard that, they were a little disappointed, but they quickly surrounded me with even greater enthusiasm.

There was a hint of jealousy in Rosalie's gaze. Still, she pointed at Jacob in the distance and said, "That one doesn't look too bad. I think he's worthy of my sister. Our mother has already passed, so as Clara's older sister, I shall decide for her. Clara, I hereby betroth you to him."

I saw the purposeful smile on Rosalie's face before lowering my gaze to hide the complicated emotions I was feeling.

Rosalie wanted me to endure all the suffering she had gone through in our past lives.

Because of Rosalie's eloquent speech, I was thus arranged to be Jacob's mate. The Elder was a little mad that Rosalie attended the ceremony even though she had already fallen for someone else. Still, she was only grounded as a punishment so she could reflect on her wrongdoing.

As I kept track of the days, I knew that it was about time the messenger from the Sunfire pack arrived.

To my surprise, Julian had come in person this time.

The Elder was shocked to receive the news.

After all, the Silvermoon pack was no longer as prestigious as it once was. Even at the height of its glory, it never received anyone from the noble Sunfire pack seeking a mate from its ranks, let alone an heir like Julian.

The Elder bowed deeply and spoke respectfully to Julian. Rosalie was already released, and she was standing next to the Elder as she looked bashfully at Julian. "I've been waiting so long for you. Did you know that the Elder even locked me up?"

When the Elder and Julian heard what Rosalie said, their expressions darkened a little. With a hint of anger, Julian asked, "Why did you lock my future Luna up?"

Julian had always been quite assertive. He thought that the Elder's actions were an insult to him.

The Elder noticed the dark expression on Julian's face. He broke out in a cold sweat as he parted his lips to say something. In the end, he simply lowered his head dejectedly. "You may punish me as you wish."

I couldn't bear seeing the old werewolf, who had watched us grow up, humbling himself like that, so I hastily stepped forward. "Here's the whole truth. Rosalie had already fallen for someone else, but she had attended the ceremony regardless. The Elder had to do it to protect Rosalie's reputation. If not, the other packs would surely have complaints about her."

There was a hint of admiration in Julian's eyes when he saw me. Noticing the intrigued look in Julian's gaze, Rosalie was on high alert as she hastily held his arm and tried to flirt with him.

The Elder looked as if he were about to pass out when he saw Rosalie's behavior.

After parting ways with Rosalie on bad terms, I truly didn't want to stay in the Sunfire pack anymore.I had also confirmed that Rosalie didn't actually have my late mother's belongings. If not, she would've threatened me with them when she begged me for help last time.I packed up my things, getting ready to return to the Stoneridge pack with Jacob. Just then, the maid came in and said that Rosalie wanted to see me.The maid handed me an emerald pendant. It belonged to my late mother. Shocked, I notified Jacob before heading to Rosalie's palace.Rosalie was lying on the bed. Her face was pale, she had lost even more weight, and her belly had swelled noticeably. It was quite a frightful sight. As soon as I entered the palace, I felt that something was off. I turned around to escape, but the doors were already closed.Rosalie laughed with some difficulty. "Clara, stop wasting your energy. You can't escape."Sitting up, she tenderly caressed her belly. "Clara, do you believe in pa

If not, I wouldn't have bothered to stick around just to watch Rosalie's antics. After consuming the moonflower, I didn't want to stay in this cold territory anymore and wanted to go home. However, Rosalie begged me desperately and even threatened me with my late mother's belongings. I looked coldly at her. "Rosalie, why are you trying so hard to make me stay? What exactly are you trying to do?"Rosalie didn't look at me, nor did she say anything.Out of consideration for my mother's belongings, I suppressed my irritation and stayed for a few more days. But since Rosalie had threatened me like that, I couldn't be bothered to visit her just to see how frail she had become. I just closed our doors and spent the time with Jacob. As Jacob and I were making plans to get my mother's belongings back from Rosalie, the maid suddenly entered and told us that Rosalie was in the foyer and wanted to see me.Noticing that Jacob was

The news of Rosalie's pregnancy instantly caused a sensation throughout the entire Sunfire pack. After all, it was very rare for the Sunfire pack to have descendants, and it had been a very long time since they last welcomed a pure-blood descendant.Julian's parents were elated as well. They even forgot all about the rules as the corners of their lips subconsciously turned upward.Julian even put off all his work to accompany Rosalie, or more specifically, the pup in her womb.Rosalie took the opportunity to ask me to stay, saying she wanted me to keep her company.I knew very well that Rosalie only wanted me to see her getting pampered. One day, Rosalie sent a letter inviting me and Jacob for a short stay at the Sunfire pack. When I received the letter, I was a little surprised, and I even suspected that it might be a trap. However, there was nothing Jacob and I owned that Rosalie could possibly want. She probably just wanted to invite me into her territory to see how well she was doing. She had probably invited Jacob along because she feared that I might seduce Julian. After receiving permission from the Alpha and the Luna, Jacob took me to the Sunfire pack.Rosalie seemed to have changed completely. She now wore extravagant clothes and exquisite accessories on her head. She could adapt to life in the Sunfire pack better than I did because she was obsessed with luxuries and willing to put on airs for wealth and status.Well, that wasn't quite it. Since young, Rosalie had dreamed of an exquisite and magnificent life like this. One of my earliest memories was lying in the Elder's arms, biting into roasted meat, a

On the day of the ceremony, Rosalie was still upset when she saw my gifts.Jacob pitied me because Rosalie had taken away most of the blessings I should have received from the pack. So, he transported various precious resources from Stoneridge pack overnight to make up for it. The resources included rare herbs, the loyalty pacts of several loyal guards, and weapons bearing ancient markings.Hence, the gifts I was taking with me to my new pack were even grander than Rosalie's.I was prettier than Rosalie, so after dressing even in the common ceremonial attire of our pack, which couldn't compare to Rosalie's luxurious robes decorated with colorful feathers, I still overshadowed her.Rosalie glared at me. Under Julian's disapproving gaze, she reluctantly got into the ornate beast-drawn carriage headed toward the Sunfire pack. The two grand processions parted ways at the entrance of Silvermoon pack's territory. I looked behind me to see the Elder standing tearfully on the watchtower,
