~Nathaniel~

“Perfect.” I strode out of the building and swerved into the open car.

“The fool has taken the bait. You're truly a genius,” Edward spoke, his eyes held a gleam of pride as he got into the front passenger seat.

“As expected, you weren't wrong. Sometimes, I wonder how you're always accurate with your observations." He chuckled. The car engine was already ignited at this point.

I laughed softly and with a snap of my fingers, my disguise was removed.

“Alberto… I love that guy.” A grin settled on my lips. It felt fun playing with the man who almost ruined my mate’s essence.

I'm glad I do not regret accepting this task from the chief of the criminal bureaucracy.

“What's your next plan, Alpha Nathaniel? Will you be giving Alpha Kaden a heads-up? Plus, Victor is coming for the company on the mainland…”

“Nothing to be done in the meantime, don't raise any alarm in case of suspicion. I want him to feel his success at the tip of his fingers and then…boom, it gets snatched from him.

  • My Second Chance Mate Is An Alpha    Ch - 43: Confusion

~Nathaniel~Nadia began chanting the spell. Her words rose and fell like powerful waves. Flames roared higher around the circle.I took Eleanor’s hand and led her to the center. I reached into my satchel and drew a small blade. She froze with her eyes wide open when she saw it.“It needs a binding,” I told her softly. “Blood calls blood. Yours… and mine.”Her hand trembled as I held it in mine. I hesitated, not wanting to hurt her, but knowing it was the only way. I pressed the blade gently across our palms, just deep enough. She gasped softly, but didn’t pull away.I pressed our hands together. The moment our blood mixed, the blue flames flared violently, and the bones and horns surrounding us glowed like dying stars.Nadia’s chanting grew louder, more intense, words vibrating in the stone floor beneath our feet. I felt the magic rush up my arms like liquid fire.Eleanor’s knees buckled. I caught her instantly, wrapping both arms around her to keep her upright. Her body convulsed onc

  • My Second Chance Mate Is An Alpha    Ch - 42: Missing Warriors

~Nathaniel~The council room was heavy with tension. Moonlight filtered through the tall windows, pooling pale and cold across the long table where my most trusted counselors sat. Their eyes flickered nervously with their brows pulled together as the discussion wound into another round of uneasy silence.“My Alpha,” Elder Marius finally spoke up. His voice was brittle with worry. “It’s not just one or two missing anymore. Reports came in overnight, four warriors and two of our scouts are gone just like that… and all their families are acting like they never existed.”His words hung in the air like smoke. I rubbed a hand across my jaw, and the muscles in my neck tightened. The council had gathered at my order because the disappearances were escalating beyond anything we’d seen before. But what disturbed me most wasn’t only the missing warriors but the families left behind. Every single one behaved as if the missing never lived or existed in their lives. They all usually have their eye

  • My Second Chance Mate Is An Alpha    Ch - 41: Crimson Shade Pack

~The Crimson Shade Pack~They were called the Crimson Shade Pack. A small, secretive pack that most dismissed as little more than a myth. Every member wore a long, deep-red cloak, the hood pulled low to shadow their faces. They moved quietly like ghosts slipping between worlds.Their territory sprawled across Hollowpine Marsh, a bleak, fog-choked stretch of land where twisted cypress trees clawed at the sky and pools of black water glistened like oil.The air was damp and heavy with the scent of decaying wood and something metallic; an unmistakable signature of Crimson Shade. To outsiders, the smell was enough to make them gag; to the pack, it was a source of pride.Their lair was hidden in the marsh’s heart, a crumbling fortress of dark stone that looked half-swallowed by the bog. Wooden walkways and rope bridges connected leaning towers and sunken halls, swaying above waters that swallowed the careless whole.Inside, green torches burned fitfully along the walls, their sickly light

  • My Second Chance Mate Is An Alpha    Ch - 40: Visions And Conspiracies

~Eleanor~“When did Jenna begin wielding dark magic?” I asked.Nadia blinked, startled. “I… I don’t know,” she admitted, shaking her head. “I’ve never seen her use it. Not once. And I’ve never even smelled it on her.”I frowned. “Smelled?”She fluttered her eyes before quickly nodding. “Dark magic has a scent, Miss Luna. It clings to skin and breath like ash soaked in rusted iron. It’s not something anyone can easily wash off. Those who use it carry it… unless they are top-level users. Minister Jenna could never achieve that level given her age.”“And you’ve never smelled it on Jenna?” I asked slowly.“Never.” Nadia’s voice trembled. “And I would’ve noticed. I trained with her. Ate with her. Fought beside her. There was never a trace.”A cold silence followed. Confusion settled in my chest like a weight I couldn’t shake. None of it made sense. If Jenna had truly attacked Nathaniel using forbidden magic, there should’ve been signs… more than just a pendant.I frowned harder, stepping a

~Eleanor~I clutched the pendant tighter, watching Nadia with the sharpness of someone who had already lost too much. My voice was like steel scraping against stone.“Where did you get that necklace?”Her brows furrowed in confusion. “This?” she said, fingers brushing her own chain. “Why?”I held up the one the intruder dropped. The moment her eyes landed on it, her breath hitched. She didn’t hide it.“I… I don’t understand,” she murmured. Her fingers unconsciously clutched her necklace tighter. “It looks just like mine. Save for some slight differences.”A part of me wanted to believe her — but the timing, the design, the way she hadn’t been there when Nathaniel was nearly killed...“Miss Luna,” she said softly, eyes locking with mine, “I swear on the stars, on the moon, and on my loyalty to Alpha Nathaniel, I don’t know anything about this. That pendant—it’s been in my family for years. Passed down from my great-grandmother.”“Then explain this.” I tossed the other one onto the tabl
