CHAPTER 9

The first thing she noticed when the door to his apartment door was him and then, his cologne. Lu took in his neat appearance before meeting his eyes and drool-worthy smile.

“Hi,” she greeted. She was afraid she might say something quite embarrassing and decided to focus at the task at hand- getting him to sign the papers in her handbag. Raising the bottle of red wine, she added, “You look good.”

“I could say the same about you. You look stunning in that dress,” Alex replied, pulling the door open wider. “Come in.”

“Thank you.” Her shoulders tensed when she heard the door lock click shut. He could not have found out about her identity, could he? “What’s cooking?” she asked with a light chuckle.

Felix answered with a bright smile. “Spaghetti but I must warn you, my cooking will steal your heart.”

“Might not be the only thing stolen,” She quipped. At his incredulous stare, she quickly asked, “Where do I put this?”
