Ravelina took a heavy breath when she found Regan holding her tightly and asking her not to leave his side. In the past, Ravelina had desperately longed for this kind of sweet treatment; she even acted extremely clingy every day just to get Regan’s attention. But all of that turned out to be futile. Regan was not someone worthy of love—every time she looked at him, Ravelina’s heart ached.

Remembering that Regan was involved in the death of his twin, who was the lover Ravelina loved so dearly, the hatred in Ravelina’s heart only grew stronger.

Ravelina immediately released Regan’s embrace. “Sorry, I have to go.”

Ravelina left the room; there was nothing left for her to fight for anymore. This marriage was no longer what she wanted. However, Regan did not seem willing to let Ravelina go. He chased after his wife, who was now almost out of the residence. At that very moment, Viona, who was there, saw Regan.

“Regan,…”

“Ravelina, we will never get divorced.”

The words Regan said shocked both Ravelina and Viona, who were in the room. “Regan, what do you mean by what you just said? Haven’t you been planning to divorce for a long time?” Viona asked in confusion, unable to believe what she had just heard from Regan.

But Regan ignored her. For him, the most important person now was Ravelina. “Wasn’t it you who wanted to divorce me all this time? Didn’t you want to marry that woman?” Ravelina pointed toward Viona.

Regan stopped Ravelina’s steps, forbidding her to leave. “I don’t want to anymore. I want you to remain my wife.”

“Stop it, Regan. I don’t want to be with you anymore. I want to leave. My place is not here, and besides, Viona is already here!” Ravelina flatly rejected Regan’s request that prevented her from leaving.

“Viona is nothing to me.”

“Regan!”

Viona half-shouted those words, but Regan ignored her. Ravelina was even quite shocked; never before had Regan defended her like this. “Pack Miss Viona’s belongings. Ask the driver to take her home,” Regan said, staring sharply at Viona, who was about to refuse.

“Regan,…”

“Do as I say!”

But Regan’s gaze looked terrifying; Viona did not dare to interrupt. Ravelina watched all of this, still unable to believe what she was seeing now. As far as Ravelina knew, her husband loved that woman very much. But now, Regan chose to stop her from leaving and drive Viona out of this place.

“Now come with me,” Regan asked Ravelina to go with him. Ravelina remained motionless, but her fingers were pulled by Regan.

“Come on, just come with me! We’re going on vacation.”

“Vacation?” Ravelina repeated. “We should be getting divorced, not going on vacation, Regan!” Ravelina rejected her husband’s invitation. But Regan forced Ravelina into his car.

“No matter how strongly you ask for a divorce from me, it won’t happen. The whole world knows you are my wife, and until I die, you will remain my wife.”

Regan spoke firmly, and of course Ravelina was very shocked to hear those words. For five years Regan had neglected her, and now Regan did not want to separate from her. Wasn’t that extremely surprising to Ravelina?

Regan’s car stopped at a small villa owned by the Dominic family, the same place where Ravelina was first brought by Kegan, Regan’s twin, back when the two of them were still together.

Ravelina opened the side terrace door of the villa; a fresh breeze blew against her face. Ravelina closed her eyes—she missed this place and her memories with Kegan very much.

A pair of strong arms embraced her from behind; for the first time, Regan hugged her first. But Ravelina’s heart had already frozen.

Ravelina broke free from the embrace. “I don’t understand why you brought me to this place, when we’re already on the verge of divorce.”

Ravelina turned to Regan with a cold gaze, as if Regan no longer meant anything to her. “I don’t want a divorce!”

“But what’s the reason?”

Ravelina did not understand why Regan, who initially wanted a divorce, was now insisting on maintaining this marriage. Regan fell silent upon hearing Ravelina’s words; he himself did not understand the reason he was holding on to his marriage with Ravelina.

For years he had ignored Ravelina, disregarding her as if she had never existed. But now, it was he who wanted to maintain this marriage, not caring that Ravelina had already prepared a divorce lawsuit against him.

Receiving no answer from Regan, Ravelina was about to leave. But Regan held her arm. “Give me a chance,” Regan pleaded. Ravelina turned to him when she heard that.

Their gazes met; there was an unusual feeling in Ravelina’s heart as she looked into Regan’s sorrowful eyes—her heart trembled. At this moment, Ravelina felt as if she saw Kegan’s figure within Regan.

“Please give me a chance until the court calls both our names at the divorce hearing,” Regan pleaded with Ravelina. It was rare to see such a sad expression on Regan’s face.

Ravelina remained silent; her heart was truly dead to Regan. “Regan, I…”

“I beg you, Ravelina, give me a chance!”

Regan truly looked shattered, as if he did not want to lose Ravelina from his life. He begged his wife; if necessary, Regan wanted to kneel before Ravelina right now.

“Ravelina.”

“Please say something, please don’t just stay silent, don’t make me feel even more guilty, Ravelina!” Regan continued to plead with her; he even knelt before her now. His expression was extremely pitiful. Ravelina immediately turned her face away even though her heart was already dead. Yet every time she looked at Regan’s face, she was reminded of her lover.

“Give me time to think about this. I need time,” Ravelina replied, still turning her face away.

“When?”

“You’re so impatient!” Ravelina looked annoyed; she knew very well that Regan was indeed impatient.

However, this time Ravelina wanted to test Regan. How long could he endure waiting for her answer? “Three days,” Ravelina answered while looking at Regan’s face.

“I will wait for your answer, three days from now. But during that time, we will stay here,” Regan said without looking away from Ravelina.

Tired of continuing to argue with Regan, Ravelina nodded in agreement. “I’m tired now. I want to rest. Do whatever you want to do, even meeting Viona if that’s one of them. I won’t forbid you!”

Ravelina left Regan in the room, ignoring the man who moments ago had begged her to be given a chance to maintain this marriage. And Regan himself did not understand why he wanted to maintain this marriage.

When over the past five years, he had always been the one who wanted a divorce. But somehow, that love appeared when this marriage was almost over.

“Ravelina, I will fight to keep this marriage.”

A commotion erupted at the Dominic residence without Ravelina having to open her mouth at all. Everyone cast cynical looks at her, judging that she continued to hide behind Regan’s figure. Especially Viona—angry glares were directed at her, but Ravelina herself was indifferent to her.The only reason Ravelina remained in this room, in the midst of the Dominic family who stared at her sharply like bullets piercing flesh, was the discussion about Kegan. Ravelina wanted to know more about her late lover, straight from his family’s own mouths.Ravelina was inside the restroom now.“They mentioned Kegan’s name, I want to hear more about Kegan, from the Dominic family themselves,” she whispered softly, her fingers reaching for a tissue and preparing to leave the room. But as she stepped out, Aunt Linda Dominic crossed paths with her. “You’ve got nerve,” she hissed sharply. Ravelina ignored her. To her, there was no point in speaking with Regan’s shameless family.“Silence is golden?” she sa

Something struck Regan hard, right at the moment Ravelina uttered those words. He fell silent with a stiff gaze directed at Ravelina, who now stood right in front of him.“You, …”“I am your twin brother’s lover, Kegan. I lost Kegan, and even at his last moment, I didn’t get the chance to see his body when he was buried.”Ravelina said it with a cold expression, yet there were wounds in every sentence she spoke. Regan immediately pulled himself together; doubt and anxiety took over his mind as he tried to process every word Ravelina said.“Why did you never tell me that?”Regan threw the question at Ravelina, his fingers clenching. The muscles in his wrist were now visible. “You didn’t ask, so why should I explain,” she replied, watching her husband who now stood motionless. It was as if Ravelina were toying with him, but before Regan’s thoughts could wander further, guessing at what Ravelina meant—The woman smiled. She stood up and picked up the pajamas scattered on the floor. “No n

Viona overheard Regan’s words from behind the door of her treatment room and looked extremely annoyed. It felt futile that she had pretended to have bleeding just to attract Regan’s attention. Somehow, Regan and Ravelina’s marriage, which was already on the brink of divorce, suddenly took a turn, and Regan was now unwilling to divorce Ravelina.“If Regan doesn’t want to divorce Ravelina, then I will force Regan to divorce Ravelina. Just wait and see.”Regan arrived at his residence and saw Ravelina watching television. The woman’s face looked expressionless as Regan approached and sat beside her.“Don’t think about what my family said. Let’s just focus on fixing our relationship,”Regan hugged Ravelina, who looked at him coldly. “Why don’t we just get divorced? You can be happy with Viona. After all, my reason for marrying you was only because of this face of yours,”Ravelina said something shocking. Regan did not understand Ravelina’s words at that moment. “What’s wrong with my face?

Numerous calls were rejected by Regan. No matter who tried to contact him, Regan chose to ignore them all. His mind was filled only with thoughts of Ravelina. Ever since they spoke earlier that afternoon, Ravelina had spent her time inside her room, and Regan was very curious about what his wife was doing.“May I come in?”Regan asked for permission. Ravelina turned toward him, already standing inside the room. “You don’t need to act sweet toward me. You can just leave. Viona needs you. Have you forgotten that she’s carrying your child?” Ravelina said it with a dull gaze. This relationship felt utterly empty. Ravelina truly wanted to end it. Regan wrapped both arms around Ravelina, something that was usually done by her toward him. “When we’re together, I don’t want to talk about anyone else,” he replied.Ravelina remembered how, for the past five years, she had desperately wanted to be treated warmly by Regan. Viona refused to let go of Regan’s embrace; even when she fell asleep, she held Regan’s body tightly. For the first time, Regan felt restless. He couldn’t sleep even though the clock had struck 11 p.m. Regan remembered very well that Ravelina couldn’t sleep unless she saw his face. That’s why every time Regan lied about staying out with Viona, he often sent photos to Ravelina. But this time, there wasn’t a single message or call from Ravelina. That woman was silent and indifferent, and somehow Regan began to feel a sense of loss. When Viona was fast asleep, Regan entered the room where Ravelina was. And for the first time, Ravelina slept soundly wrapped in a blanket without him.Regan got on the bed; he hugged Ravelina slowly. The woman woke up and found Regan in her bed. “Let go,” she said flatly.Regan was, of course, surprised. He stared at Ravelina’s expressionless face. “Didn’t you always want to sleep being hugged from behind?” Regan asked in disbelief, then looked at Ravelina,
