Chapter 1

Let’s get divorced, Regan.

"Why did you slap Viona and humiliate her in public, Ravelina?"

Anger was clearly visible on Regan Dominic’s face when he received the news from his girlfriend Viona, who had cried and complained about what Ravelina had done—slapping and humiliating her in public during the fashion show. Right at that moment, a message entered Ravelina’s phone.

Mr. X:

[Regan was involved in the death of his twin brother, Kegan. Your late lover. I will send the evidence as you requested.]

Ravelina fell silent after reading the message, her fingers suddenly turning cold upon learning that shocking fact.

"Ravelina, I'm talking to you,…"

"Let’s just get a divorce, Regan. Let’s end this marriage. Isn’t that what you've always wanted from me?"

One cold sentence left Ravelina’s lips, and Regan instantly fell silent hearing her request. All this time he was the one who always demanded a divorce from Ravelina, the woman who had once done everything she could to marry him. Ravelina married Regan not without reason—it was because of Regan’s twin brother, Kegan Dominic. The man who was once Ravelina’s lover, whom she loved so deeply, had died five years ago.

Since then, not wanting to lose her love for Kegan who was gone, Ravelina decided to marry Regan, the twin of her lover, by any means necessary. But everything ended after Ravelina learned that Regan was actually involved in the death of her lover, Kegan Dominic.

Ravelina left Regan in that room and walked toward her bedroom. All her sacrifices to keep her love for her lover’s twin had been for nothing.

Regan was about to follow Ravelina, but a phone call from Viona came into his phone. “Honey, I’m at your mother’s house. I can’t accept that Ravelina humiliated me.”

The voice on the other end froze Regan. Who would he choose right now? Go to Ravelina in her room or meet Viona? Meanwhile, Ravelina knew her husband had just received a call from that woman and waited to see what Regan would do.

But then, the sound of a car engine leaving the residence was heard. Ravelina gave a pale smile. “Now I know who you choose, Regan.”

Ravelina immediately grabbed her phone and called her lawyer. “Prepare the divorce papers like I asked before. I am ready to divorce Regan Dominic.”

Ravelina ended the call—there was nothing left to fight for. All this time she had endured and chased Regan’s love even though she was always ignored, because of her love for her husband’s twin brother, Kegan. Just seeing the same face had kept her going as Regan’s wife, even though she was often treated badly by him.

“Mrs. Ravelina, would you like to cook a special dish for Master Regan for dinner?”

One of the servants asked Ravelina, who was at that moment staring at her wedding photo with Regan in the family room. Ravelina shook her head. “No need, you can serve anything,” she replied coldly, then walked away.

All the servants were confused by Ravelina’s behavior. Usually, whenever it came to dinner and breakfast, Ravelina would personally cook for her husband, Regan. But now, she chose to ignore it. For her, there was no reason to stay beside someone who had been involved in the death of the man she loved so deeply.

At 7 p.m., Regan returned home. Viona came with him—she still couldn’t accept being humiliated by Ravelina earlier, so she forced Regan to make Ravelina apologize.

“Where’s Ravelina?” Regan asked in a slightly raised tone to the servants, not finding her. And right at that moment, Ravelina had just arrived back home as well.

“No need to shout, I’m right here!” she answered coldly. Ravelina saw Viona clinging sweetly onto Regan’s arm. She felt nothing anymore, no longer caring about what they did.

This was the first time Regan had brought this woman into their home. Ravelina already knew her husband loved this woman deeply; she was no longer surprised.

“Regan, earlier today she humiliated me. Now, I want her to apologize to me,” Viona demanded an apology from Ravelina in a spoiled tone, still clinging tightly to Regan’s arm.

Regan, who loved Viona deeply, turned to Ravelina. “Ravelina,…”

“I apologize, Viona. Forgive my behavior toward you earlier today. I regret doing that,” Ravelina said before Regan even finished his sentence. She chose not to argue about what happened earlier. Her response shocked both Regan and Viona, especially Regan who noticed Ravelina’s blank expression.

No more cheerful expressions, no more sweet, affectionate words. Ravelina had turned cold, and it greatly disturbed Regan.

“Ravelina,…”

“Honey,” Viona clung even more, feeling victorious over Regan’s attention—especially since Ravelina had apologized. “Ravelina already apologized, so does that mean I can stay over tonight, honey?” Viona asked sweetly, hugging Regan in front of Ravelina.

Regan looked slightly awkward—he wanted to push Viona’s arms away. But Ravelina chose to walk away, no longer caring about what they did. That disturbed Regan… for some reason, her silence and cold attitude bothered him deeply.

“Regan, you’ll sleep with me tonight, right?”

Viona demanded his attention. She had a reason for being allowed to come with Regan to the house. She had complained about Ravelina to his mother and gained her support to stay over, especially since Regan always told his parents he wanted to divorce Ravelina.

But now that the desire had become reality, suddenly Regan’s heart wavered. For some reason, he didn’t want a divorce.

“Regan, who are you thinking about? Why aren’t you answering me?” Viona seemed upset, because Regan had been quiet and ignoring her.

“You can stay here. Come, I’ll take you to the guest room.” Regan asked Viona to follow him, and the two walked toward the guest room. But Regan’s eyes kept drifting toward the bedroom door where Ravelina was.

Ravelina’s coldness and indifference bothered him greatly. He kept wondering why she suddenly changed—when normally Ravelina would do anything to get his attention. Regan knew his wife loved him very much and was always extremely jealous of Viona.

But tonight, Ravelina had drastically changed—cold and indifferent—and it deeply disturbed Regan.

“Ravelina, why did you suddenly change?” Regan once again stopped walking, hoping she would come out of the room and act sweet toward him like usual.

But even as Viona tugged on his arm and pulled him into the room, Ravelina did not come out. Regan began to feel the loss of Ravelina’s affection, something he unexpectedly started to miss.
