Café Denise had always been my favorite spot.

A hot cup of cappuccino, marshmallows melting into the foam, extra-extra sugar.

Heaven.

I used to sit by the window, right where the light hit just right.

But not anymore.

Not after that night.

Now I sat at the far end, tucked away from the other tables, where no one really looked twice.

I wrapped my fingers around the cup, letting the warmth seep into my skin before setting it down.

I pulled out a book I had just started. How to Love Mr. Rex. A rom

Normally, I always arrived earlier than everyone else, but today even though I was twenty minutes ahead of the scheduled time, everyone was already here.“Hey, everyone,” I said, forcing my chin up in greeting.Silence.Definitely expected that.Vanessa kept applying her makeup, Dad was on his laptop, there’s no such thing as taking a break for him, and Mum was…My eyes moved around the plane, searching for her.“Where’s Mum?” I asked Vanessa, still looking around.“Ask Dad,” she replied without sparing me a glance.I turned to him. He was seated by the window, completely absorbed in his screen.I watched him for a moment, wondering how to even ask. After a while, I finally spoke. “Dad…”He didn’t look up.“Is Mum not coming?”No reply.I didn’t bother asking again. I took a seat in front of Vanessa. If Lana were here, I wouldn’t even bother trying to interact with my family. It was useless anyway.I used to care about the distance between us when I was younger. Now, I’m used to it.I

  • Engaged to My Sister. Obsessed With Me.   CHAPTER 16- RHEA'S POV

Chapter 16- RHEA'S POV I survived a week at Blackridge.Barely.I didn’t have to see him every day, his schedule was packed, meetings stacked on meetings, and for that, I thanked God.Or whatever was left of my sanity. We only crossed paths once.Just once.He didn’t say a word.He didn’t need to.My skin burned under his gaze, my heartbeat loud enough I was sure everyone in the room could hear it.And then,he left.I told myself it was a good thing. That distance was exactly what I needed. That maybe, just maybe, if this kept up, I could get through this internship without completely losing my mind. But even as I thought it…I knew it wasn’t that simple.“Are you sure you don’t want to come with me?” I asked Lana, folding my clothes into my travel bag.“No.”I paused, glancing at her. “Lana, come on. We always spend summer at the beach house together.”She spun lazily in the chair, not even looking at me. “I don’t feel like tagging along this year.”“Are you still mad at me?”She k

What was his problem with this question?“Why would I miss you?”Darnell tilted his head, studying me. I tried to even my heartbeat, but it wasn’t working—and he smiled, knowing fully well I was lying.“You don’t have to lie.”My teeth clenched. “Why are you following me? Why can’t you just leave me alone?” I yelled. He started walking, coming over the counter. Slowly, he moved toward me, and I forced myself to stand still even though everything in me was screaming to move back.He stopped in front of me. I didn’t break eye contact. Neither did he.“You’re the one…” His hand reached for a strand of hair on my face. “…who’s following me.”An electric wave passed through me when his finger brushed my skin. He tucked the strand behind my ear.I didn’t know why I was still standing there. I could’ve moved back. I could’ve left. But my legs didn’t move.“Why can’t you leave me alone?” he asked, his fingers tracing my jawline. My heart raced, and my eyes shut when his other hand moved from

How to Love Mr. Rex. A romance novel about a nanny who fell in love with her boss. Cliché, but at least it kept me busy. Busy from thinking about my own boss.My grip tightened slightly around the edge of the page.Lana still hadn’t spoken to me.She said she would… when I told her the truth.Normally, when we fought, we got over it almost immediately. But this one?It had been five days.Five long, quiet, awkward days.I tried to fix it. I ordered food for two like I always did, kept her favorite drink in the fridge, le

  • Engaged to My Sister. Obsessed With Me.   CHAPTER 13- DARNELL'S POV

“It’s been a while since you let me beat your ass.” Maurice rolls his shoulders, bouncing lightly on the balls of his feet as he circles the ring. I smirk, tightening my gloves. “The last time we fought, I beat you. Remember?” He scoffs. “You call that a win? I was going easy on you.” “You always say that when you’re about to lose.” “Not this time.” His fist comes out fast—a jab aimed straight for my face. I lean back just in time. “Still slow,” I mutter. “Still cocky,” he shoots back, stepping in again. He circled me once, gloves loose, like this was more fun than work for him. “So tell me,” Maurice said, grinning, “what made you change your mind?” I exhaled through my nose, rolling my shoulders. “Just needed to blow off some steam.” Maurice hummed like that wasn’t enough of an answer. “We both know that’s not the whole truth.” I stepped in and drove a jab into his ribs—light, but sharp. “Fuck—” he groaned, stepping back. “You asshole.” “Just one hit and you’re alrea

“Hey… hey, wake up.”My eyelids felt heavy as I forced them open, blinking against the blur. A dull throb pressed at the back of my head.“Rhea, sit up.”The figure above me slowly came into focus.Lana.My brows drew together. “What… how—?”I pushed myself upright, dragging the blanket with me.“Here. Drink.” She guided a cup of coffee to my lips.I took it without resistance. The heat burned softly down my throat.Lana sat beside me. I didn’t miss the worry on her face.“How are you feeling?” she asked.“I’m okay.” My voice cracked immediately.“Take another sip.”I did.“What happened?” I asked.“You don’t remember?”I shook my head slowly. “No.”“Last night…” She hesitated.“What happened last night?”Silence stretched for a moment. Then fragments started returning.Darnell standing at the entrance of Vanessa’s apartment.Me turning away.Leaving.“You came into my room crying,” Lana said softly. “You wouldn’t say what happened. I just let you sleep here… with me.”My eyes shifted
