Bella’s pov

“And I will fuck you whenever, wherever, and however I want.”

The words would not leave me. They circled endlessly while I dragged my feet across the floor, watching Kane walk ahead. Broad shoulders. Straight, unyielding back. I could not look away even when I tried.

He is my sister’s boyfriend. Soon to be her husband. I slept with him. The memory itself is gone—blank, unreachable—yet my body carries every trace of it. Traitorous, aching, insistent.

My fingers found the red mark on my neck without conscious thought. His mark. Evidence I could not deny. I hated the ease with which I folded for him, the way resistance drained out of me the moment he spoke. Listen. Bend. Obey. That was all that remained.

And still, beneath the shame, a dark satisfaction stirred. This had been the secret I carried for years. I should have felt something close to victory. Instead the knowledge sat heavy and sour. Because the way I received what I wanted now threatened to break Lisa, and that truth pressed against my ribs with every breath.

“Get in.”

Kane’s voice cut through the noise. He was already behind the wheel, those eyes fixed on me—the ones that could silence every thought with a single look.

I cannot do this. Whatever game he is playing, I will not let him win.

“Why am I the one being threatened here?” My voice held steadier than I felt. My hands trembled; I locked them together to hide the shaking.

He did not answer at once. He stepped out of the car, walked around to me, and spoke with quiet finality.

“Because you are the one who stands to lose everything. Not me.” He opened the door and pushed me inside. The slam of it made me flinch.

I watched him settle behind the wheel, hands sure and controlled. The engine roared to life. In moments we were moving through the night.

“Lose everything?” The words came out sharp. “I don’t think so. You’re the one losing everything—your arrangement with us, my sister, the perfect wife who will open every door and protect every account. Your reputation. Your status.”

I kept speaking, the sentences tumbling faster. “If this gets out, the world will see exactly what you are. A man who could not keep his dick in his pants. A man who slept with two sisters. You’ll be finished. No one will stand near you once they know.”

I finished breathless, as though I had run a long downhill stretch. I was not certain the threats carried real weight. I only hoped they might make him pause. I could be many things after this night. I would not be his puppet. I would not be the body he reached for whenever it suited him.

He glanced at me. I held my breath and waited. Silence stretched. Then he laughed—low at first, then open and full, filling the closed space of the car until heat climbed my neck. Why did that sound make me feel small? Why did those eyes always strip every defense away?

“You’re a good talker,” he said when the laughter faded. His gaze found me again and held. I froze. The look pinned me in place, the way a predator holds something already caught.

“But it doesn’t touch me. Want to know why?” A quick check of the road, then back to my face. “I will not think about it your way. I will think about it mine.” A slow, knowing smile curved his mouth. “I only agreed to marry your sister because of my father. He decided, for reasons of his own, to pull an old friend out of bankruptcy.”

I stared. “What?”

Bankruptcy. The word sat wrong. Who was drowning? And why did he make the marriage sound like charity instead of partnership?

He smirked. “I forgot. You prefer nights of parties to days at the company. How were you ever supposed to know?”

“Do you mean… the company…” The rest stuck in my throat.

He chuckled. “Don’t look so lost, Bella. I mean exactly what I said. If you don’t want your family living on the streets of LA, you will do exactly as I tell you.”

His voice dropped, quiet and absolute. I swallowed against the sudden tightness in my throat. He smiled and turned back to the road.

“Stop fighting it. We both know this is what you have always wanted.” Another glance. I looked away, toward the dark blur of the window. Anything was safer than meeting those eyes.

“If you hadn’t thrown that ass at me, I might never have looked twice. Or maybe I would have. Nothing entertains me more than the two of you—one who pretends she doesn’t want it while her body begs, and the other a loyal little fool who still believes the world is kind.”

I clenched my fists until the nails bit skin, fighting the urge to strike him hard enough to leave a lasting mark. How had I ever loved this man? This calculating, filthy creature who moved people like pieces on a board and called it amusement?

How had I been so blind for so long? And why, even now—with the truth laid out in front of me—did part of me still lean toward the very thing that would ruin everything I claimed to protect?

Everything about him pulled. The clean line of his profile in the dashboard light. The expensive scent of his cologne filling the small space between us. My body answered before my mind could stop it, a low, unwanted heat gathering low in my stomach. I knew I should run. Far and without looking back. Instead I sat here, breathing him in, already lost to the one person certain to destroy me.

Kane looked over and smiled. My heart stumbled, then surrendered, even as every clear thought left in my head screamed for me to get out.

“What the hell do you think you’re doing?”I used the last strength left in me and pushed Kane away. I managed to shove him only a few inches off me, but the distance didn’t last. He crashed back against me almost instantly, seizing me again and claiming my mouth in another hungry kiss.I felt my body tremble at his touch as I completely melted under him. The familiar taste of his warm mouth—something I had missed so terribly—flooded my senses, and my body lost control the way it always did with him, as if I had been made to submit. Every part of me remembered how to yield.I was trying so hard not to kiss him back, not to show him just how much I had been thinking about him, about his hands and mouth all over me. Yet the effort felt useless against the heat rising between us.Kane growled deep in his throat. His hand found my neck and squeezed—hard enough to send a sharp, electric stimulation through my brain, but not hard enough to choke me. The pressure only made everything sharper

I felt Kane’s reluctance to release me as Steve guided me out of the elevator. We were nearly at the door when Lisa’s voice cut through the air behind us, forcing Steve to stop—and me with him.“Can you come here for a minute? There’s something important we need to check before the files go to Dad.”Steve nodded. “Sure.” He turned to me, voice low. “I’ll be right with you.”I nodded and watched him walk over to where Lisa stood with another woman. Kane was beside them. I could feel the weight of his gaze. I forced my eyes anywhere else. When there was nowhere left to look, I turned and left the room, stepping outside. The city air hit my face—sharp, sun-stung, almost painful after the sterile cool of the building. Before I could take another step, hands seized me from behind and spun me around.A jolt of pain ripped through me as my back slammed hard against the wall.“Ouch—” The soft cry escaped before I could stop it. When I looked up, Kane’s eyes locked onto mine, aggressive and un

Kane never showed up. As if he was truly avoiding me, and that only twisted something aggressive inside me. Because I wanted to see him, even though I knew how badly I would be pained by everything.Still, I wanted to take a look at that face I couldn’t seem to get out of my head.I followed after Lisa as we walked out of the elevator, headed for Kane’s office. Lisa looked so confident and completely relaxed even after everything. I guess I really don’t matter that much to her, right? All the more reason I shouldn’t care about her getting hurt in the process. I sucked in a deep breath, preparing myself to blurt everything out the second we got into the room.It should work that way, right? If I can’t get the man I love, then she shouldn’t either. Right?Call me insane and horrible, but I don’t care. Lisa would be broken, but she won’t stay down. She always finds herself active again. As soon as we entered the room, Lisa walked up to Kane sitting behind the desk and placed a light kiss

"I'll do it."My voice, sharp and intense, cut through the quiet and echoed against the high walls as I climbed down the stairs. Each step felt heavier than the last, the polished tiles cool and unyielding beneath my feet, as if the house itself was listening.Melissa looked up from where she sat. The corners of her eyes tightened, twisting with that familiar mix of suspicion and cold calculation as she watched me descend. From the look on her face alone, I knew she didn’t believe me. She never does. Not once. Not ever.Even if I had ended my life right there on the spot, she still wouldn’t have believed it—unless she saw my lifeless body with her own eyes. That was the kind of proof she always demanded. But I won’t let it come to that. Her validation has never meant anything to me. It never has. So no… I’m not going to throw myself over the edge for her sake. Not for her approval. Not for her peace of mind. Not for anything she thinks she can control. But for now, I’m going to say ye

It can’t be Steve. The thought struck like a physical blow, sharp and disbelieving. No. It can’t.But the truth settled over me in the same breath, heavy and inevitable. This was not random. Nothing about Melissa ever was. This had been arranged long ago, a quiet, careful plan waiting only for the perfect moment to spring shut. Tonight was that moment. My eyes locked on Steve. He was still smiling that wide, triumphant smile—until he saw my face. The expression drained from him in an instant. The smile collapsed. Something like alarm, or guilt, or both, flickered across his features.I didn’t know how to stand, how to breathe, how to exist in the same room after a revelation this large.“You… you knew?” My voice came out hoarse, thick, scraped raw from the effort of holding everything in. Tears burned behind my eyes, insistent, unstoppable. I was breaking, and I hated that I was breaking in front of them—in front of Melissa’s satisfied silence, Lisa’s quiet complicity, and Steve’s

  • My Sister's Boyfriend Shouldn't Know How I Ta$te    Chapter 51

I woke to a fever that clung to my skin like a second, heavier coat. My body ached as if I had run a million miles through mud and broken glass, every joint protesting, every muscle tight and useless. But the physical weight was nothing compared to the heaviness inside me. It felt as though something vast and merciless had crushed me in the night, squeezed until there was nothing left but an empty suit of flesh still going through the motions of breathing.I forced myself upright. The room tilted once, then settled. I dragged a dress over my head—something plain, something that required no thought—rolled my hair into a clean bun with fingers that still trembled, and walked out.The dining room was already occupied. Melissa and Lisa sat at the long table, plates in front of them, silverware moving in quiet, civilized rhythm. Steam rose from coffee cups. Morning light spilled across the polished wood as if the day itself had decided to pretend nothing was wrong.I walked past them as th
