My phone vibrated several more times. The other person lost it and kept sending me one voice message after another.

[Do you think everyone in the group chat is dumb? Do you think people will believe a random CT scan image you found online?]

[You're old enough to be his mother, yet you're still acting like some young girl and pulling tricks like this. Have you no shame?]

[I'm the one Christopher is going to marry! If you still have any dignity left, hand in your resignation tomorrow. Don't make me go to the office and humiliate you in public!]

I figured the girl had misunderstood the situation.

I quickly typed a reply.

[Kylie, right? You misunderstood what happened earlier. I'm Christopher's mother.]

Christopher Graham used to send me messages around this time every day to check on our dog, Hammie.

He had simply made a typo, and with the group chat moving so quickly, his message accidentally ended up in the wrong chat.

I was only trying to help salvage the situation and prevent his employees from thinking their CEO was some kind of creep, which would damage the company's reputation.

But the moment my message was sent, I realized the other person had blocked me.

'Huh?' I thought.

Did she block me just like that?

I stared at my phone in disbelief. I didn't know whether I should be upset or laugh.

This girl really had a temper. She didn't even give me a chance to explain.

I took a deep breath and told myself to stay calm.

Young people in love could get carried away. Saying things out of jealousy was normal.

Besides, it meant she cared about Christopher. That was a good thing.

Honestly, this situation was indeed easy to misunderstand.

I picked up my phone and tried to call Christopher. I wanted him to explain everything.

The call didn't get through as the line was busy.

I tried again, but it was still busy.

I didn't know whether he was on a business call or already explaining things to her.

I leaned back against the couch and rubbed Hammie's belly while thinking it over.

After finding out Christopher was planning to get married, I immediately returned to the country to meet his fiancee, Kylie Mitchell.

Coincidentally, Kylie was on leave and had returned to her hometown.

Since I was bored staying home alone, I asked Christopher to let me work in the company. I wanted to learn more about his fiancee and see what kind of person she was.

Although our first interaction hadn't exactly gone smoothly, I had heard that Kylie was beautiful, gentle, hardworking, and ambitious.

The company retreat was tomorrow, and she would be there.

Once we met face-to-face, I could explain everything clearly. The misunderstanding would disappear.

The more I thought about it, the more I felt that it was not a big deal. In fact, I was even a little excited.
