Chapter 3

Months have passed since that fateful day, and Aideen's birthday is tomorrow. He'll be six, Aiden's sister will be three months old, and Helena will be in labor soon. Edward had been caring towards Helena, and Veronica was not happy about it; she was constantly jealous, and even though she knew Helena was refusing Edward, it didn't make her jealousy go away.

Helena, on the other hand, sensed Edward's growing affection for her, but she is avoiding it. He has a wife, and she hasn't forgotten her feelings for Raphael. Day by day, she writes in her notebook about what's going on in her life, as if she were talking to Raphael and telling him everything.

'Hai Visto che? Continuo ad evitare Edward per te, Amore Mio. Presto diventerò Una Madre Raphael Vorrei solo che questa fosse tua e non-di Edward, ma è triste che sia solo il Mio Desiderio the il Mio Amore per te non-finirà mai Raphael (Did you see that? I keep on avoiding Edward for you, my love. Anytime soon I'm going to be a mother Raphael I just wish this one was yours and not Edward's but, sadly, it's just my wish my love for you will never end Raphael)'

That was her letter to Raphael before she fell asleep today. Her letters to her love are making her happier and less sad by the day.

Morning arrives, It's Aideen Drew's big day, and everyone in the mansion is preoccupied with the heir's party. Everyone in their town is invited, as are all of the children at Aiden's school; this will be a massive celebration.

Aideen, his mother, and his father are out shopping for clothes and toys for him.

"Let's hurry Helena is alone in the mansion," his father said, causing him and his mother to stop walking.

"If you really want to go home, you should have stayed at home and not come with us," Aideen said as he walked quickly.

"It's your son's birthday, won't you respect him just this once?" Veronica said as she walked away to catch their son.

"Mom, let's go shopping for baby Sam," Aideen exclaims, before selecting a cute baby girl's outfit.

"Baby Sam will be happy," he added. His parents simply watched him pick and choose for his younger sister.

"Look at him, even though you hurt him, he still wants your other child to be happy; be grateful that he still accepts you as his own father, Edward," Veronica said, making Edward feel guilty.

He loves his son as much as he loves his wife, but things got out of hand and he lost love for his wife, but his love for his son remained unaffected. He will not tell his wife because he knows she is a manipulative woman.

'I should have been a father figure to him, but instead I became a man he didn't want to be,' Edward reflected.

"Is it okay, Mom, if I pick out clothes for Helena's baby? I'm sure it's a girl," Aideen inquired.

"Sure, baby, and it's Aunt Helena for you," Veronica told her son, but Aideen just laughed. She is relieved to see her son behave normally.

When he was finished picking, he said he was hungry, so they went to a restaurant.

"Mom, dad, I want my own sister, a sister from both of you," he said innocently.

Veronica and Edward were speechless.

"Yes, baby, we'll keep that in mind; you'll get one soon.

For the time being, let's just go with the flow," Veronica said to her son, and Aideen happily clapped before continuing to eat.

"Don't make him assume, Veronica," Edward said quietly.

"I'm not making him assume because I've been carrying one for two months; I'll just wish it's a girl because that's what he wants," Veronica replied, causing her husband to freeze for a moment.

'No, I'm in love with Helena.' I can't feel this way about Veronica,' he thinks.

He is aware that this is unfair to Veronica's side, but he wishes to maintain a barrier between them.

THE PARTY WAS A HUGE SUCCESS, and Aideen was totally happy to receive so many gifts.

Aideen was overjoyed when his father showed him his gift. It was a bookbox.

"I didn't realize you knew I loved books, Father, but thank you so much," he said formally before hugging his father for a moment.

"You sounded too formal, little one; if you didn't call him father, people might think you're not related"- one of the visitors chuckles Aideen simply smiles.

"Would you like to know what mommy's present is?" his mother inquired, drawing attention to herself.

"Yes, please," Aideen exclaims excitedly.

"It's in your room, baby, let's open it together later," his mother said, smiling broadly at him.

"I can't wait, mom," Aideen exclaimed as he happily played with his friend. Rico

"What did you get him?" Edward inquired of his wife.

"A photograph of the two of us"

"Why us?" Edward inquired.

"To remind him you weren't that bad when we got married, and to teach him a lesson," Edward was surprised to hear from his wife.

"What lesson?"

"The lesson is to not become like you. The picture frame had another picture at the back where there's only Aideen and me."- She explained Edward was hurt by that "which means that a year after I bring Aideen into this world you grow apart from us. He needed to burry it inside of him so that he won't hurt his wife and children in the future."

"Ow okay," Edward could only say. He is clearly affected.

"I'm sorry Edward Aideen must learn from your mistake and that's the easiest way that won't hurt him that much"- His wife looked at him "I know you love Aideen. You can't hide it from me! Don't worry I will not interfere with your freedom to love someone even if we're married just keep making Aideen and this child I'm carrying your first priority and I'll leave you alone"- His heart was ripped by what his wife said.

She did let him go, which is why he is still growing apart and away from them.

"And our marriage, can we just keep it until Aideen grows up? My son wanted and dreamed of a complete and happy family, and I am certain I can't give him a happy one"- His wife took a step away from him and said, "Be happy with the freedom I give you Edward," and that was her last word to him.

What his wife said caused him to reflect.

'Am I really that bad? Did I really hurt them both? '

'No, my wife is manipulating me yet again.'

'But I know I'm to blame.' 'I harmed them.'

His mind was racing with questions to which he didn't want an answer; he didn't care what his wife said, the important thing right now for him is that his wife made it clear that she is letting him go.
