Our eyes meet and James looks to my side before wrapping a hand around the red-haired next to him, pulling her flush against him. I swallow the lump in my throat as I watch him walk away without holding my gaze for another second.

"Elizabeth." Jared snaps me out of it before I can do something stupid like turn and try to catch his gaze again.

"Hmm?"

"I asked if you want a drink."

"Yeah, sure," I respond and he rises from his seat to go get us drinks. I drop my hands on my lap, my fingers digging into my palms as I try to remain still and not think about the fact that James is right in the room with me. With a girl I do not recognize. What the fuck is he doing? Did he come here to shove that in my face? Is this how he retaliates for choosing Jared over him? Since when does he do that and who even is that girl? Where did he find her? How long has he known her? Was he just waiting for me to push him away so he could get with her and flaunt her in my face?
