Elijah's pov

I wasn't sure what awaited us outside the gates of the pack land, so I took her far away from the bell tower, as far away from it as I possibly could, while we remained in the pack land. But the sound still reached us, and Kylie cried out in excruciating pain.

"Make it stop. Please make it stop!" she howled. I sat by a tree and covered her body with mine in hopes of blocking out the sound waves that troubled her.
